This was our first stop after landing in Oahu. It was the closest good spot we could find near the airport. There's plenty of parking at the pier, so that wasn't a worry. The restaurant was pretty cute both outside and inside, and I could tell it draws a good crowd for football games, which is a plus. For the poke bowls, we got the Spicy Shoyu Ahi, Furikake Salmon, and Ultimate. Overall, they were pretty good and decent bowls. I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. We wanted to stop by Nico's Fish Market as soon as we landed based on reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was super fresh with a light, freshly battered coating that stayed crisp. The tartar sauce leaned more zesty than heavy, which paired really well with the mild white fish. We also shared a poke bowl with brown rice and three poke options, and every choice was great. I also ordered the Loko Taco which a bit bland. The Shoyu Ahi is delicious before the shoyu goes in. The spicy ahi is always my favorite. I was bummed because they didn't have smoked marlin chip dip available. Overall, decently priced for the quality of the food. Staff are very friendly and fast. I always recommend this place for lunch or happy hour. Yes, they're typically busy, but the turnover of the tables is pretty quick and their staff is nearby cleaning tables. Also, I need to give a shout out to the fantastic people who work the poke counter because they're always so nice and cheerful! There's also a little area on the counter with free toppings you can add to your bowl including Furikake, sesame seeds, fried garlic, and kabayaki sauce. They also have a variety of grab and go items such as sushi and desserts, as well as a place where you can buy fish by the fillet. So far I've purchased both ono and ahi belly to cook with while here and it's my favorite place to get quality fish on sale. There's a large parking lot outside the market and I've never had issues with parking. Location is great, right on the ocean near Costco. We got the Shoyu salmon and Ahi Tuna and they were amazing. The salmon was so well seasoned with the sesame oil and the shoyu sauce. Each bite of the salmon was literally heaven. The ahi tuna was fresh but a little bland. Use the sauce from the salmon on the tuna and it will be perfect. We also got the Mac salad which was a little heavy but was tasty. I have to lead with the fact that historically I have gotten really good fresh fish from this market . I had a family gathering so I was going to make a couple Of Ahi dishes . Went to the market and the Ahi in the display looked pretty sad and gray and it was smaller than what I needed . Anyway I'm getting side tracked . Got my bag o fish wrapped in butcher paper and paid . It was 50 bucks or so . Seemed a little high but I didn't cry as I asked for the extra work. I tipped the 10 bucks to the counter . I live literally 5 minutes so I went home and unpacked my fish . First thing was it was 6 pounds not 5 . Not the end of the world but not what I asked for . Second this was not fresh Ahi it had 100 percent been frozen . Sad color sponges and you could feel the frozen while cutting it . Zero chance that was fresh caught . I'm so sad . I relied on this place as my trusted fish seller . I can not do that anymore . The ahi stunk so I was unable to use it for all the raw dishes I had planned . So so sad . My extended family of 12 persons went together to Nico's Fish Market for brunch on Saturday December 27, 2025. For some of us... including my wife and me... it was our first time there. The food was good. If the food weren't superlative, the place... including the charming bar area... would not have been so packed. But the big turn-off... for me, anyway... was the inundation of flies. They were everywhere, always. They were omnipresent and ubiquitous. And aggressive. They were as bad as the fly situation at lunchtime at the Museum of Art on S. Beretania Street. And that's bad. It really detracts from the pleasure that a diner would otherwise take in enjoying the meal with loved ones. I think that the management has to invest in some of those ultraviolet electric bug zappers. Until that pest situation is dealt with, we won't be back. read more

Excellent place to get fresh fish!! First time coming to buy the fish but I came before years and years ago to get poke. I work early so their opening at 6:30 am helped a lot. Not that many people at that hour but not all the fish was out either. Luckily the staff was very pleasant and kind and let me know that there was more fish in the back. I ordered what I needed and it was freshly cut and packaged for me. No scent of fish at all so while in the fridge at work, not everyone needs to know that I bought fish and put it in the refrigerator. Lol The fish looked fresh and nicely cut. The place was clean and I also got two macadamia nut brownies which will be enjoyed after dinner. The ambiance is nice and calming and they have nice pictures of fish throughout.
