My favorite poke place in Oahu! They have multiple locations and I'm always getting the same stuff each time. I like the Spicy Ahi Katsu and the Fireball and Firecracker poke. Any of their poke that is spicy, I get. This place is a personal favorite of mine because of the Fireball and Firecracker... spice is life! This is definitely a place that I recommend to people who are going to Oahu for their first time. The ladies who work at this location are a hoot. They're so chill, funny, patient, and hard workers. They let you sample and make sure you get your food. This place sees consistent business, we were there eating our food and always saw customers coming in and coming out. This location isn't really a 'sit-down' place but you can nibble on your poke for a minute before you take off. Inside is small, but clean, and you'll find a picture of Guy Fieri on the wall. I don't think the poke was fresh (in my opinion). I did a uberEats delivery so I don't know if that had anything to do with that. This place was the most underrated and delicious spot I tried during my trip. Don't judge a book by its cover. The restaurant is located kind of under a bridge in a not so touristy/nice area. It's more a hole in the wall/takeout place. I ordered the Smoked Tako and it really knocked me out of the water! Normally I'm not an octopus guy it usually tastes bland and too chewy. But the way they cooked the Octopus is sooo unique and memorable because of the smokiness and their special spicy creamy sauce. After we went to the lab to draw blood I was looking for a place to have lunch. I came across fresh catch on kapahulu. I saw furukaki seared ahi. And my husband said he'll try the fish and chips. My seared furukaki ahi was good their wasabi mayo was good to accommodate the ahi. My husband fish and chips was plentiful. Best poke. You can tell the fish is top-tier quality--everything tasted so fresh and buttery. They have an amazing variety of options, from classic Ahi to unique mix-ins and sauces. If you don't know what you want, you can ask to try it. We ended up getting Foodland poke the next day and was disappointed. Fresh Catch is a poke shop started by Reno Henriques' and has locations in Kapahulu and Kaneohe. This location near Waikiki only has a few parking spots outside and no seating inside. They make over 20 varieties of poke daily and can be bought by the pound mostly in the range of $23-$29 per pound. We ordered the spicy salmon and the shoyu ahi. The spicy salmon was good but I particularly liked the shoyu ahi. Of all the poke places I've eaten at in Hawaii (and it's been a lot), Fresh Catch's shoyu ahi might be my favorite. We ended up having to take our food to a nearby park to eat but it would've tasted delicious no matter where we went. If you're looking for super yummy poke, Fresh Catch is definitely worth a visit! Customer service was a solid 5/5. The staff was friendly and patient. They had so much variety that I had a hard time deciding which flavors to try. Good thing there was no one in line behind me because I'm pretty sure I stood in front of the glass for a good 10 minutes trying to decide. Luckily, the staff let me know I could pick as many as I wanted since you pay by the pound. I ended up choosing five different flavors and they were all delicious. My favorites were definitely the salmon and tako. They were incredibly fresh to the point that it melted in my mouth and everything was perfectly seasoned. Just a heads up, there's no real dine-in setup here. It's mainly a takeout spot but there are a couple of benches along the wall if you want to eat right away like me. However, I recommend grabbing the poke, head to the beach, and enjoy the fresh flavors outdoors. Overall, Fresh Catch hits the mark if you are looking for high quality poke with that local-style flavor. 100% will be visiting again when I'm in Honolulu. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the fish and chips here--they were wonderfully crispy and light, not at all oily or heavy. I tried the ahi and salmon; the salmon was definitely my favorite. I found most of the ahi tuna a bit too salty for my taste, though the fish itself was decently fresh. I also tried the Ahi Katsu for the first time. Too many to choose from, especially for me... who is often indecisive. Lol! The regular menu is above the case and the specials are on the wall to the left. Again, LOTs of options! I decided on the crab stuffed ahi & my coworker ordered the lechon ahi. The plates were HEAVY!! I also ordered 1/4 poke and 1/4 lomi oio. The service was great and our order done quickly. The taste was good. The lechon was a little salty for me, but cooked to my liking. The crab stuffed ahi was good! Next time, I'll probably order the sauce on the side. With a couple of locations around Oahu such as right down from St. Louis Heights and Kaneohe, Fresh Catch has been a constant for many local people around the island. They have a variety of dishes from beef stew to fries to poke. We decided to go to the location in town across from City Mill. There is a small lot that can be a bit difficult to get in and out of, especially when crowded. The place itself is blue and a decent size. There is space to order at a counter with a display case of poke. There is also space for tables and benches, if you want to eat inside. The decorations include a lot of fish and blue. It felt pretty casual and clean. We got a few different types of poke. We got the ahi shoyu poke, spicy ahi, spicy ahi shoyu, and Hawaiian poke. Each poke tasted fresh. The flavor of the ahi shoyu and spicy ahi shoyu tasted a bit light. The spicy ahi was spicier than anticipated but it was a welcome surprise! The Hawaiian poke tasted especially fresh and flavorful. We have also purchased the smoked meat fried rice, which is one of my favorite fried rices ever! We will definitely be back for it and some more poke. read more

I usually go to Off Da Hook for poke. Wanted to try something different and I live close to Fresh Catch so decided to swing by for lunch. They have a good selection of other items besides poke, the poke bowl was listed for $14.99. On the menu, "includes rice" is listed with the price of the poke bowl for $14.99. Well, when I went to pay for my meal, on the receipt I noticed a $2 charge for rice. At first I thought that I was mistakenly charged for an extra scoop of rice which I did not order. So when I asked the cashier about that she said "oh, we charge extra for the rice." I then asked her the menu says "includes rice". There is nothing on the menu sign that says rice is an extra charge. So the cashier tells me that the price is only for the poke bowl. Well that's false advertising if you have one price listed for the poke bowl with rice. That's wha people are going to be expecting get and pay for . If you're going to charge extra for rice, don't be shady about it and not include on the menu and then charge people for it without telling them. That I believe is illegal. If you're going to charge people for rice, then have a separate price listed. One price for poke only and a second price if they want rice included. I've been in food and service for over 20 years and have been a part of pricing for menus. I know that kind of pricing options needs to be listed on your menu. I know prices for everything today is ridiculous expensive but expecting people to pay $2 extra for rice smh. Overall, a rip off for the price and what you get definitely not worth it. Lots of other places to get good poke where you DON'T get charged extra for rice. Won't be back and won't recommend. read more
