Nicolitalia's has by far, the best pizza I've had in Utah. For me, what makes a good pizza is #1 the crust, #2 the crust, #3 the crust, #4 the sauce and #5 the toppings. The only thing that could make this crust better is if they had a real brick (or clay) wood or coal-fired oven. So, it's not THE perfect pizza, but is dang good--worth 5 stars. You can tell they know how to make a good pizza crust. And the only way to make a great crust is with lots of experience, dedication and patience. That's why the crust for all the pizza chains is so gross. That's why the crust for formerly great places (I'm looking at you California Pizza Kitchen and Pier 49), as they grow, lose their quality. The dough itself has an excellent texture and taste. Yet they also know how to make great sauce--especially the sauce they use on the Margherita pizza. I highly, highly recommend getting the Margherita if you haven't already (or if you have). The sauce has a wonderful fresh, "bright" flavor. Soooo good. Also, get their wings. They were surprisingly awesome. I'm pretty sure they finish them off in their pizza oven. It gets a very nice flavor from that. I keep wanting to try their calzones, but I always go back to getting the Margherita and wings. I've heard from everybody I know that has had the calzones that they are excellent. read more

I love the crust. Everything else is great too. The Margherita pizza has an amazing flavor. Thin crust is awesome, but go for the regular if you like medium to thick crust at all, because the stuff is awesome. I've never had better pizza in Utah. I don't think I've heard a negative review of this place. If you're whining about the price, stop, because the establishment deserves the profits and the pizza lives up to the cost, which is actually pretty reasonable. I have to say, the atmosphere is perfect too. Not too fancy (i.e. no jacked up prices for rent) but still a nice decor with some boston Italian flavor. The salads are huge, breadsticks are great. I love the porch in summer time. The owner Nick seems like a passionate guy when it comes to running the place, and it shows. Let me just add another 5 star review to this amazing restaurant! We came here because of the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed! We tried the house dressing off recommendations- WOW! It really is amazing. I was dipping everything I could in the dressing. We also got the Margarita pizza, which is incredible. We went again and tried the breadsticks- delicious! I ordered extra house dressing this time, knowing we'd need it! Please go try this place! It is so good. It is fairly priced- $18-$19 for an extra large pizza (can feed four adults)- and the food is fresh and seriously delicious. My new favorite pizza place! Oh, and the owners are so nice! I went back. They gave me a coupon (which they didn't know what it applied to. It took two of them talking for 5 minutes to decide what my coupon applied to), so I went back. I regret it. The service sucks. Everything I ordered was burned. It tasted fine, aside from tasting like charcoal. I did get a chicken parmesan calzone, which aside from being burned was simply mediocre. This place is a bit odd. In a very good way. Two things are immediately obvious when you enter and place your order: All the 'r' sounding syllables in the words on the menu have been replaced with 'ah' (ex. garlic = gahlic or dinner = dinnah) and the dude taking your order hasn't worked there more than a week. Nick is great. He's worked there the whole time. And he sings. But every time I go in, which is about every other week, there is a new kid taking the orders. There is a "Help Wanted" sign permanently posted in the window. In any other place this would be a problem, but since its kind of an eccentric little joint it adds to the ambiance. The Music: Its some weird stuff. Its the same album I'm pretty sure because I've heard this same song that has some kind of bug voice in it many, many times. It must be Italian right? The Pizza: If you are going for a pizza type food get the calzone. Huge, delicious, and it comes with dipping sauce. I recommend either the meatball or make a custom calzone with pepperoni, sausage, and cheese. Oooooooohhhh cheeeeeeese. The Salad: This is why I keep going back. Remember the dad in So I Married An Axe Murderer ranting about the Colonel's chicken having an addictive substance in it that makes you crave it fort-nightly? Well, this is kind of the same thing. Except its in the dressing. Order the Greek Salad with grilled chicken added and the creamy dressing. This also comes with a "roll" which is really and large handful of pizza dough shaped into a small football shape then baked. I love the atmosphere and authenticity of this place. I ordered the chicken parmesan pizza and the meat pizza (forgot the official title). The prices are fine, about $16-$18 for an extra large pie. I love the interior, the hand drawn signs, and the atmosphere. The pizzas that we ordered were ok, and not especially exciting. The crust was good and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Granted, we ordered some boring combinations, and that doesn't mean that their other pizzas and offerings aren't markedly better, which seems to be the case judging from the other yelpers. I love the sign above the soda machine: "Please pay for your drinks. Is it really worth $1.59 to spend eternity in one of the lower kingdoms?" It was so hard to choose which specialty pizza to order because most of them sound so good. Finally decided on Tuscany, since everyone seemed to be raving about their Mahgarita sauce, and this pizza had eggplant, chicken, and plum tomatoes among other things.
