We shared the Chicken Fresh Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Tom Kha coconut chicken soup, Ginger Lovers Chicken, & Nidda Peanut Chicken. Both of the entrees came with steamed white rice. This spot definitely has the potential to become a 5-star favorite. With stronger teamwork from the staff; or a change in one particular team member's attitude. It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. We came in 30 minutes before closing, after moving furniture for about 3 hours 2 doors down. In spite of that they were still super accommodating. We had the shrimp appetizer, panang beef, massaman shrimp, drunken fried rice, pad thai and Thai tea. Panang curry was kind of mid but the quality of beef and the veggies were great. I'll go back for the fried rice for sure. Probably some of the best masaman I've had to be honest. The shrimp appetizer was delicious Pad Thai is pad thai and I'm never really a fan of it in general Thai tea was kind of a small glass and sweeter than I'd like but I know how to adjust it next time. My only issue is the internet went out so I had to make payment 2x because they thought it didn't go through but it actually did. Nidda is a neighborhood staple. It's the place that first introduced me to Thai food. It used to be one of my favorites, but there's so many new spots, I hadn't been back in a while. So we decided to spin the block a few weeks ago. I ordered one of my usuals (crab fried rice) and it was good. I ordered it medium spice and it didn't taste spicy at all, but there was plenty of crab. My husband had the Basil Seafood and said it was good. Finally, a solid Thai food experience in Houston! The decor is nice and spacious inside, and the most important thing: the food and service were quite impressive. The server was very helpful in making sure my first impression wouldn't be my last by suggesting the Curry Noodle. I always request the dishes on the hotter side, and the spice level was spot on. They have some unique specials worth exploring, which I'll do for future visits. The price was nice, and the food was on point, so that's all you need to know. Plenty of parking in the lot. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because while dining in, there's just a cluster of workers (maybe delivery or general staff) seated in this one area. Might be a normal thing for some spots in Houston, but I'm not used to seeing the workers just 'chilling' out like that. I stopped in at Nidda Thai for a Saturday lunch before doing some things around Montrose. The inside is so cute and peaceful. Soft Thai ballads are playing, there's greenery, fountains, soft pastel coloring, and good lighting - well thought out decor that transports you to Thailand. There's a bar inside as well. I had the crispy, spring rolls, jasmine tea and the green curry with shrimp (it's pretty mild but likely made for the American palate, I'm sure you could ask for a hotter level). The curry was very tasty, one of the better ones I've had in Houston, and just what I needed on an overcast, cool day. The service was excellent, the waiter was very attentive and courteous. Went there yesterday for the first time at like 7 ish , kinda of a late dinner but the place was empty. Kinda liked it though peace and quiet is rare these days. Waiter was the most chill guy ever and even made a excellent recommendation for me, I was going to order the seafood crab cake curry on there specialty menu but he suggested the fried pork and that was perfect for me I didn't leave there feeling stuffed and uncomfortably full and he didn't try to upsell me on something just because it sounded good. So mad respect to the waiter. The pork was perfectly crispy with some cucumber and tomato's (to clear the palate) and side of white rice and the nice glaze sauce. Also the Thai toast is definitely worth trying, I thought it was bomb. I ordered the pad see ew through my work's delivery site and it was pretty good. I feel like this should be an easy dish to make but so many places still get it wrong. I asked for no spice but I saw a few chilis as if they started to add it then read my order. Fortunately it wasnt enough to notice. The carrots seemed frozen judging by the multiple shapes but they were plentiful and cooked well. The chicken wasn't dry although there could have been more. It wasn't a very big portion for the price but I will order again if I'm not able to get away for lunch. read more

We had ordered Pad see Ew, pad woon sen and the fried tilapia. I thought the food was pretty good although the Pad see ew and pad woon sen tasted very similar with a slight difference in the ingredients in it. The tilapia was not what I had expected so that was so so. Service was great and they had come check on us often. But one thing to watch out for is when you get the signature sign, to make sure that the tip is not prefilled. They said that the machine accidentally did so at times. read more

I've been eating at Nidda Thai since around 2010, and it has been my weekly lunch spot for a few years now. The food never disappoints. I've tried serval of the dishes on the menu but my go to for lunch is L-7 (Nidda Veggie) with tofu. The food has always been fresh and well prepared. I also like the seaweed soup which always taste fresh. The portions are just the right amount for me. The service has always been great when I've eaten here. I've never had any issues with poor service. The wait staff has always been friendly and attentive. Charlie always greets me when I come in for lunch and takes a minute to chat. I've been eating here long that he just knows what I want and has the order started once he sees be at the table. The restaurant is clean and the ambiance nice. It's quite at lunch which I like. On the occasions I've eaten dinner here with friends and family it has always been quite and inviting. Overall, friendly service and good food. read more

I really wish I could give this place more stars but I had a pretty terrible experience here, and I'll start with the food. I ordered the pad see ew and this dish should not be soupy. Mine was soupy. The noodles basically melted in your mouth without chewing at all, and that is not the consistency of what this dish should be. The chicken in the dish was not seasoned at all. The vegetables weren't cut to be bite size. The flavor was also not the flavor did what pad see ew should be. I did not even take a picture of the dish because i could not make it look appealing. 1/5. I did order the appetizer chicken satay and that was pretty good. 4/5. Service was pretty abysmal. There were 2 other tables eating. But I was not handed a menu for 5 minutes. And I did not have my drink order taken for another 5 minutes. The staff was busy cleaning up the restaurant and seemed like they had no desire to serve the customers. The waitstaff also cleared my chicken satay appetizer before I was finished using the peanut sauce to cover up the poor-tasting entree I got. Probably will not find me here again. read more

I tried this place out a couple of years ago and it was just average...fast forward to 2022 and I thought I would come back to check this place out as the reviews seemed better since they reopened a couple of months ago. I ordered take out and picked up as soon as the order was ready. The only thing I was missing was the extra spicy sauce I had requested under the comments section, no big deal as I know it's easy to miss those instructions. My order was fresh and warm and packaged well. Food I ordered: - Pad Kra Prao (chicken sautéed with green beans, bamboo shoots, and carrots): I was expecting this to be like a traditional Thai chicken basil dish as the description states it is made in a basil sauce but it was anything but that. I barely tasted any basil and the dish itself was very oily. I do not recommend this dish. - Chu Chee Eggplant with chicken: the eggplant in this dish is battered and comes with a curry sauce which I got on the side, as I didn't want it to be soggy. I also had the option to include chicken with this dish and was surprised to see the chicken was also battered- I had assumed it would have been sautéed. It was not good and it tasted like I was just eating fried batter. The eggplant with the curry sauce was good though and I can imagine tastes delicious fresh, if eaten at the restaurant. - Drunken Noodle with chicken: This was just meh to me. The noodles were cooked well but the flavor was lacking. I wish they had included the extra spicy sauce I had asked for as this dish did not have much heat. I would definitely not get this dish again. Overall, the staff is nice and the food came out hot and was a good sized portion. The restaurant also has its own private parking lot which is appreciated in this neighborhood. Sadly, I doubt I will be back. read more

Time for an updated review.... So I've visited Nidda a handful of times since their remodel, so I have a good grasp of the restaurant. Here's the short version: food is pretty great, but the service is awful. Every time I have sat in the restaurant, I have sat down with no acknowledgment from anyone for at least 15 mins. This past time, we waited 30 mins since being seated for any interaction from anyone. Normally I would have gotten up and left after 10 mins, but I had my heart set on Thai food and didn't want to drive elsewhere. But honestly, that's unacceptable. It was a weekday evening, not busy at all, and it's a small place. The least they could do was bring us waters as they passed by our table multiple times. The eggplant dish is really what has me coming back. It's perfectly fried eggplant with a curry sauce drizzled on top. The curry is pretty good too. TBH their noodle dishes aren't my favorite. I've had much better at prob any other Thai spot in Houston. It's decent, bc of the convenient location if you live in the area. But I wouldn't drive out of the way to come here, esp with so many other great options in town. read more
