This place is absolutely adorable! The atmosphere is really cute, and the food completely lives up to the vibe. We ordered a mix of dishes for the family, and everything was delicious: We started with the chicken wings, I completely forgot to take a picture because we dove right in, but they were perfect--incredibly crunchy on the outside, and perfectly nice and juicy on the inside. The family ordered the Pad Thai, and I got the Drunken Noodles. My noodles were absolutely packed with flavor and incredibly delicious. Plus, the portion sizes here are huge! You cannot leave without trying the mango sticky rice, it was amazing and the absolute perfect end to the meal! Great food, wonderful flavor, and big portions. We will definitely be back!

Cute little Thai restaurant in a very nice location. We came on a Tuesday for lunch and it was not busy. The waiter Miguel was really nice and attentive. To eat we got the panang curry and pad Thai. Two dishes easily feeds 3 as they are big portions.

Kin Dee delivers the kind of dining experience that feels like a warm handshake the moment you walk in...the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable...setting the tone right away...we were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly...which always earns points in my book. Not long after...our waiter came by...introduced himself...and made us feel right at home...we started off with a couple of drinks that were well-made and refreshing...along with a few appetizers that definitely set the stage for what was coming next. For the main course...I ordered the Thai omelet with crab meat...and let me tell you...that dish was a showstopper...packed with flavor...perfectly cooked...and just downright delicious. From start to finish...the entire experience was top-notch...great service...great atmosphere...and even better food...Kin Dee is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

I really love the Kin Dee Thai aesthetic. The space is modern, clean, and just really well designed. The marble tables are a nice touch, and they also have outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a nice day. The atmosphere made it easy to chat and actually enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed, which I appreciated. For drinks, I had the lychee martini, and it was really great. It came with a nice garnish (including apple), and the flavor was on point. For food, I had the Kindi fried rice, which I really enjoyed. My friend also ordered a chicken fried rice, and that looked good as well. They do have soy sauce nut you have to ask for it. I do wish I could get fried rice (instead of regular) with one of meat entrees instead of having to get both or choose between but the waiter said that was not allowed. I also tried the mango sticky rice, and unfortunately, that was not my favorite. I did not finish it, and it is not something I would order again. Something about it just did not quite sit for me. Overall, I really liked the space and the vibe. I would definitely go back and try more items on the menu.

Stopped by here for takeout the other day to pick up dinner. Ordering was easy and the food was ready in 15 min or so. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if eating there though! Everything was so good! Loved the pad thai, among the best I've had. Also loved the Khao soi, the curry was so flavorful! Cashew chicken was good though I might consider something different next time. Highly recommended for Thai food , worth a drive.

This is such a great restaurant for a date night or girls night! The vibes are super cute and the chairs are comfortable. My husband always orders the northern style curry with bone-in chicken, and it is truly one of the best dishes we have tried in Houston. I usually get the panang curry with tofu and it's always delicious and well-seasoned. The purple flower dumplings are iconic and a must-try. We got a few different cocktails the most recent time we went, and they were all well-balanced, but not very strong. Service is always attentive and helpful as well.

Had some lovely thai food at Kin Dee. Started with two appetizers. First were, of course, the Flower Dumplings because just look how beautiful these are of course I'm gonna order it. Had a nice crunchy peanut filling! Second we also had the Chicken Satay which were pretty simple, grilled chicken with a peanut sauce, but good! For my main I chose the Premium Tiger Cry which was a marinated steak that was cooked well, but it came with this unbelievable sauce that like shocked me at how good it was omg. It was called North Eastern Special Sauce which I'm not sure what that means but wow thats divine like I don't think Ive ever tried a flavor like this sauce before. Rice and veggies were good and loved the little container the rice came in. For dessert I had a Thai Tea Creme Brûlée which yes, it is as good as it sounds. Also had a cocktail called this Asia-tini which was a lychee-pear-sake martini, very yum!

My friends and i came here for thai and were not disappointed! We started with hot tea (not pictured) which was a combination of green teas. Was very good blend but the cup to drink from was very small, about the size of a shot glass. We then got the flower dumplings which were sooo yummy. Basically pad thai in dumpling form. I got the pineapple fried rice which was interesting but very good. Had raisins in it which is not what i was expecting! And also came in this large pineapple bowl lol. Overall everyone from service staff was very nice but around 8:30 they started taking away all our silverware (the bus workers) when one of my friends was still eating. They close at 10.

Solid Thai food, and prices aren't crazy given inflation and the Heights location, so that was an unexpected surprise. Service is good. I really like that lots of items on the menu had photos, it definitely helps set expectations of what you're actually getting. I got the Northern Style Curry (Khao Soi), which came with a whole chicken quarter. Slightly disappointed with the minimal pickled mustard greens that I LOVE having with my Khao Soi. My girlfriend got the Shrimp Tom Yum, which I thought was a bit watery and didn't have enough sourness to it. Slight smell to the tap water/glass, but that might be Houston ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Server was friendly, and parking was easy. Bonus, they're on InKind, so you can save some money with the offers and Costco giftcards.

Good place to get Thai food, clean and modern spot for any occasion. I think the waiter forgot about me, waited about 10 minutes to finally order. The food was good, not too oily or greasy. Good portion sizes. The egg was smaller than most places I've been. I'd considering coming back and trying their other items.

I hadn't been to Kin Dee in years. I had gone once during Houston Restaurant Week and remember not being all that impressed, but the restaurant sent me a coupon not long ago for $50 off my meal as a returning customer. How could I turn down a free $50? So, I decided to give the restaurant another chance, and I'm glad I did! Parking was easy, although we went earlier in the evening. I know that particular lot to get pretty full pretty quickly. We also made a reservation, so there was no wait at the restaurant. The ambiance was great - more upscale than what I am typically used to for Thai food, and their place settings were beautiful. I did have to ask for a clean glass because mine was dirty, but the wait staff ameliorated that quickly. We ordered several dishes including the drunken noodles, Pad Thai, and Panang curry. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented! My favorite was the drunken noodles - pad kee mao with a combination of proteins, veggies, and Thai basil. So yummy! The portion sizes were generous and ordering family style was a great way to try several dishes. The price tag is a little hefty for Thai food. Even with my $50 off, I still paid a good amount for the meal. Kin Dee is a great place to visit for good Thai food, but not if you are on a budget!

Kind of sad I can't give it a full 5 stars because when I came here back in 2021, I was blown away by the food, service, and atmosphere. I came in for a solo dinner, and my order was taken within a few minutes. The food came out fast, which I appreciated. I got the Tiger Cry and the stir-fried Thai basil chicken with a fried egg. The Thai basil chicken was stellar, and made for great leftovers the next day. The Tiger Cry was just okay for me; not very flavorful, and with so many other standouts on the menu, I probably wouldn't reorder it. I'd still give the food 5 stars. The service, though, just wasn't what I remembered. No one checked on me during my meal, and after I finished eating, I had to flag someone down for both a to-go box and the check. It all just felt a little indifferent, which was disappointing after such a great first impression in 2021.

Always amazing! Perfect chicken wings with tasty sauce. The flower dumplings so unique, truly a signature item. Thai tea crème brûlée is a must have. Thank you California Andy! Awesome service!

    Is the restaurant Kid friendly?

I doubt the menu fits the palette of most kids

Can I make reservations and special orders?

    Yes

    Are they pets friendly?

Although they love our Fur babies. Pets are not allowed inside the restaurant.

Are they family/kid friendly? Or more of a date/HH spot?

More date/HH; but there is a front or back patio which might be more conducive for families.

Do they have vegan options or offer tofu? I didn't see tofu as an option on their menu.

    Yes

    Do they have happy hour?

Yes, wasn't super impressed with the HH. Good food, but would choose Thai Gourmet any day over it.

I wasn't too impressed the first time, and this visit certainly confirmed my initial thoughts. For La Lucha's Happy Hour, you get a choice between 2 types of oysters ($1.50 each). These were great - do this on a weekday before 6pm and you should be able to grab a table without a reservation. Barely even after we started eating the oysters, the waitress was already asking if we wanted to order more, instead of allowing us to just enjoy our food without interruptions. The menus they gave at our table were inconsistent and had different menu items. I had to ask for clarification if the redfish was on the menu since it wasn't on two of the three menus given to us. So, quality control was a miss. Rest of the menu... is limited. Everything was so greasy, from the fried chicken, the redfish, and shrimp tacos. * Red fish with pecans - 6/10. The fish did not taste like it was seasoned with salt. It was well cooked, not dry at all, but it lacked any sort of seasoning aside from the butter and pecans on top. * Shrimp Tacos - 4/10. I think I prefer Taco Bell over this one. The shell was greasy, not crisp (felt like it was stale), and I was confused with the combination of American Cheese and shrimp. They also added hot sauce or spicy salsa in the tacos - so a warning if you can't handle spice (not mentioned on the menu). * Half Fried Chicken - 5/10. The chicken was moist. Been here once before and it was quite dry, so I'm glad this was cooked well. You get 2 thighs, a wing, and a drumstick (4pc). Again, there was a lack of any seasoning on the chicken itself & the exterior. Sadly, the sauce that we picked was not the best either - oyster mayo. It would've been nice to try the others, but the half order came with one sauce. The seasonal jam that was available was the peach jam. It went well with the biscuits (half order comes with 2 biscuits, any extra is $1.50). For my people who get cold in restaurants, I would recommend bringing a light jacket since they turn the A/C up.

This is a bit of a dated review, but we came here for a Valentine's dinner as a special occasion. We got seats at the bar counter behind the fire (which to me was the best seat in the house) so we could be close to the action. One thing you'll notice is that the place is quite loud, I think which owes to the low ceilings (so don't expect like a quiet and romantic vibe). The meal started out great with the bread and butter - bread was sourced from Magnol, which was a huge green flag to start. The oysters were extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. We also had a dish with tuna over crispy rice which was my fiancee's favorite of the night. My personal favorite was the salad (I know that is crazy to say at a restaurant that specializes in live fire cooking) - but the way they zested all different types of citrus/lemons, peppers, chiles, and the way the herbs they put into it, created what was one of the most memorable salads I have ever had. All in all the food was excellent. Service was great (the night we were there, Max Lappe was there sending out food to customers himself). I do kind of wish the atmosphere was a little more quiet. With that said, expect to spend around $200pp (we did share a bottle of wine though).

I would like to preface, this isn't a cheap quick dinner restaurant but I highly recommend coming at least once. We found it on the Michelin guide. I love the inside of the restaurant, the layout is fun and intimate. *grilled oysters were good. The flavor from the n'duja with the bits of pecan was something I would never think to pair. Great start! * elk tartare was surprisingly amazing. I always find tartare to be a tough dish to make outstanding and with elk I was hesitant to try but happy we tried it. The plate was cleaned by the time we finished. The cracker was light and paired well with it. * maitake mushrooms were so good that we had to split it evenly so no one got an unfair amount lol The sauce is like a coffee/caramel/chocolately savory sauce. Mt description doesn't do it justice. It's umami but has a caramelized feel. Just get it! * pork chop was the best pork chop we've had. We typically order steak over pork chops at restaurants but heard great things. Tender and flavorful. I will say it's a very rich dish so be mindful of that but highly recommended * grits, this was the dark horse. It was our favorite tapa. We laugh bc we didn't think grits would be the fav, out of all the amazing dishes. But the beef cheek underneath the silky grits... YUM! I'll be craving them *basque cheesecake was good but not the best we've had. But it's also hard to compete with all the other dishes we had
