This is related to an UberEats order. I ordered chicken larb (mild), green curry with chicken (not spicy), and the order came with free spring rolls. When I tasted the food, larb was not spicy but the green curry is. Larb was also so salty to the point that I couldn't eat it. Upscale Thai food. Authentic and delicious Thai food in an upscale neighborhood that they cater to; read it's a bit pricy for what you get. The location and venue are very approachable for those less initiated. The friendly staff are happy to walk you through the menu and help you customize the dish and your level of spice tolerance. You're paying for the access, approachability and ambiance. The actual plates that the food comes on are really large and the table gets crowded, so if you're in a large group try not to be seated where you're squeezing in. There's a reasonable amount of parking in the shared lot. There are a few dedicated spots for takeout orders. While they may have a few more Americanized dishes that are more kid friendly, it's not really the vibe for small kids. My son this time had the Panang curry and spicy cheese rolls and crab Rangoon and both were not very good we threw half of both orders away. This is probably my most frequented restaurant in Houston. It is THE BEST Thai place in Houston hands down. I recently discovered that they opened another location called Arroy Thai on the west side. Everything on the menu is delicious! The Tom kha gai soup and pad thai with glass noodles are my staples. This is the best pad thai I've ever had. The pad thai is like crack for my daughter. In fact she recently send me this message "A message from god that he instructed me to deliver to you: (Big, booming voice) DONT YOU DARE EAT CHLOE'S PAD THAI. YOU WILL UNDOUBTEDLY MAKE YOUR FAVORITE DAUGHTER VERY VERY SAD." Yes, it's THAT amazing! I have brought so many friends here and everyone LOVES it. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Saw rave reviews on Yelp & decided to stop in for dinner on a Tuesday night. Arrived around 6:30, the restaurant was pretty empty, there was only one other party there. I was greeted & escorted to my table upon entering, once sat the server walked over immediately to greet me. I reviewed the menu & food pics on Yelp prior to visiting so I knew more or less what I wanted to order. I decided on the spicy Brussels for an appetizer & the tofu pad Thai for my entree. I will admit I was highly disappointed at the serving size, especially the Brussels, at $8 I would expect more than 1/3 cup of tiny sprouts. To be honest with you, I took a picture mostly to try and show other Yelpers how small the serving size is, but even then I feel the picture doesn't really show just how small the serving truly was. The pad Thai serving is also small, ironically they serve it on a large dinner plate but the serving would fit on a small 5 inch plate with room left to spare on the plate. Luckily, I don't eat large portions & can't remember ever finishing an order of pad Thai in one sitting but I definitely cleared my plate this time and can't imagine anyone with a big appetite being satisfied even with an appetizer. I would've appreciated a larger portion, a doggie bag is always nice. The tofu itself was totally bland, I mean it was pan fried but not one spice was added for flavor & that was a big let down. The actual noodles were really good and flavorful so it kind of balanced the flavors but I think the tofu could have been so much tastier and enjoyable had it been somewhat seasoned or immersed in the pad Thai sauce. All in all, the service & food were pretty good & I would give the restaurant another try but it definitely would not be my first option for this type of cuisine. read more

Great food and service. They really bring the punchy flavors and the heat to their savory dishes. We came on a Saturday night and sat outside in the far corner on their beautiful covered patio with hanging lights. We ordered a bunch of things: Pina Shalala (4/5): a fruity nonalcoholic drink that tasted just like a pina colada. It was refreshing. Ika Karaage (5/5): the fried squid tasted fresh, crispy, and delicious. It came with this sweet sauce. But, I didn't care for it. The squid didn't need it at all. Tom Kha Gai soup (5/5): So aromatic and tangy from the lemongrass, lime, and coconut milk. It was spicy at spice level hot. If you can't handle spicy food, I would recommend to go down to medium or mild spice levels. Khao Soi with seafood (5/5): Creamy, aromatic, and tangy soup with egg noodles and various seafood. The soup was more like sauce or a stew to me. But, it reminded me so much of a cross between red curry and Singapore laksa. The lemongrass flavor stood out. I made this spice level hot too. It's no joke. They use spicy chiles. It was worth it, though. I would order this again. But, I'll just order it with chicken or tofu next time. The seafood was good, but it didn't justify the price, since I mainly enjoyed the soup. I'll also ask for more egg noodles, since there was extra soup. You don't want to waste any of that goodness. Panang Curry with tofu and veggies (4/5): this was spice level hot too. I got a taste of it, and it was spicy. The flavor was good, but not as good as the Khao Soi. I think if the spice level was one notch down, the panang curry flavors would stand out more. Brown butter cake with fresh mangoes (3/5): this was ok. It's vanilla cake with brown butter sauce on top and mangoes. The mangoes weren't as aromatic as I'd like, and the cake was kind of mushy from the mangoes and the sauce. Tan Special Dessert (4/5): Think of this as a chocolate brownie with marshmallow on top and vanilla ice cream. This was very chocolatey and rich. It was too heavy of a dessert for me. But, it tasted delicious. Overall, we enjoyed the food here. The waitresses were attentive and informative about the dishes. Our water was always refilled, and let me tell you we needed it with all that spicy food. Lol. Next time, I plan to skip the desserts and go mainly for their curries or noodle dishes. I'm always a fan of Thai food and when it say's street food that's an additional incentive. I would have to say the food here is definitely more refined than street food and worth repeat visits. The interior is pretty simple and straight forward and the focal point is the neon sign that reads 'I'm Spicy' on the plant wall and hanging basket seat. On to the food, the menu reflects the common dishes you find at most Thai eateries, but all executed very well. You'll get a side salad and fried Thai egg roll with dipping sauce. The dressing is super yummy and could smother my face with that. I haven't had the Thai iced tea was super tasty and just as I remembered. The Red Curry dish, medium heat, would encourage and recommend this. Shrimp tempura is also a good option and you can ask to get the dressing for the greens that come with this. I am glad and excited this new establishment has opened up relatively close to me and look forward to trying all the other dishes on their menu. read more

It's such an unassuming place that you'd never imagine that it was so popular, but it is and for good reason. During my last visit there, I ordered their chicken pad Thai, and in an effort to not scarf down the entire meal, packed half and enjoyed the leftovers a couple of nights later. When I had an opportunity to meet there again for a business meeting, I was very excited to dive into their pad Thai again. I was so excited to see this pop up for recommended delivery in my new neighborhood! The pictures looked amazing and the food did not disappoint. I recklessly ordered the "fat boy" pork belly bowl as I frequently order pork belly and leave disappointed. Not tonight! The meat in this dish was perfect for me -- not too fatty but still mostly soft with great flavor, not overwhelmingly smoky. The rest of the dish had a strong basil flavor and nice crisp veggies. I also got red curry with tofu which was pretty standard, on the sweet, oily and spicy side but still tasty. Both portions were ample and because the food was a little rich and oily I ate maybe a quarter of the total (just me trying these two dishes haha). After 3 years in Houston, finally found an amazing Thai place in the River Oaks/Tanglewood area. Yay! Stopped in for lunch with my folks a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Place was decorated beautifully and was spotless clean (from seating to bathroom area). Early lunch wasn't packed like other places in the Galleria area so it was nice to eat in a quiet restaurant. From the friendly service to the nice table settings to the flavorful food, everything was pretty good. We ordered a couple orders of pad Thai, some green curry soup, egg rolls, iced coffees, butter cake and was pleasantly surprised when salads were included in the meal. All in all the pad Thai was out of this world as was the soup and dessert. Everything done to perfection where every bite was meaningful and delightful. Our only complaint was that portions are small and when compared to what you get at a Thai Cottagen for pad Thai, it could be considered smaller and maybe pricier for lunch. Houston is awash with great Thai restaurants, so I was more than a little skeptical when a friend called Trinity "the best Thai restaurant in town." While that may be hyperbolic, it certainly can hold its own against most casual spots in its tier. I was surprised to find that this is an offshoot of a restaurant in Euless, TX of all places, not far from where I grew up. We did take-out so I can't vouch for the décor or ambiance, but I can say that the prices are quite reasonable for the quantity. Spicy Cheese Roll - I was always intrigued by why so many Thai restaurants in America had these thin-crusted and cheese-filled appetizers on the menu, as cheese is certainly not a staple ingredient in the cuisine traditionally. Probably initially a way to satisfy local customers in the early days of American Thai cooking. Regardless, their version is small but boasts salty and pungent flavors that go nicely with the sauce, which is sweet upfront then gives way to some soft heat. Thai Som Tam (Papaya Salad) - Normally a refreshing and punchy side dish, this one was underwhelming. The texture of the raw papaya was adequate, but it needed more pungency and more spice. Tom Yam Goong - Speaking of pungency, this is more like it. The broth was strong, sweet, and tangy and there was a generous amount of shrimp that was tender rather than rubbery and stale tasting. Not sure how they achieved this - possibly by allowing it to come to fully cook through in the residual steam? Panang Chicken Curry - A really tasty take on the zesty, savory, and sweet classic that features shredded chicken in haphazard shapes that added excellent chew and texture. The coconut-based broth was thick and not especially spicy at a "medium" level. I did think it could use a little more lemongrass. Pad Woon Sen - The best dish of the lot, consisting of thin glass noodles coated in a house-made sweet chili sauce. The sugar balanced the heavy umami notes and the crunchy veggies provided contrast to the chewy noodles. I would go back just for this honestly. read more
