The amazing tech behind this haunt is my reason for the 5-star review. I was blown away by it (literally!) Prepare for lots of unwanted touching and torment, (It was described as "stressful" by myself and another person in my group.) Granted fun does not necessarily translate into stressful, however, the attention to detail and the props are ridiculous! This haunt will only get better given their relocation to this South Side warehouse where they can expand and taunt and torture even more people!!! Worth the buzz, hype, wait in line and cost for sure. Side note: It would be nice to enforce no smoking/vaping in the queue! There was a creepy stiltwalker interacting with the crowd, more characters interacting with the queue would be very welcome, esp. for picture opportunities! I can't wait for next year!!! read more

just a heads up, I went on Friday the 13th and got my two tickets for about $32 total not the original $70 which is why it gets a 3rd a star Pros: I'll start by saying the actors were amazing! They did an absolute amazing job - besides the guy that pinned me against the wall and rolled his tongue at me and then attempted to kiss me, I'm not quite sure how that's meant to be scary but eh. They were all fun to interact with and my absolute favorite part was the guy that strapped my boyfriend down and let me beat him up. I liked how everyone stayed in character and played along when my boyfriend tried talking to them. If it wasn't for the cons and how short it is I could give this place 5 stars. But honestly I'd have rather paid full price for Indy scream park. Cons: I think it was absolutely ridiculous our time slot was at 10:30 and we didn't go until 1:05AM. Why have the "30 minute grace period" if you have to wait so long. By the time we went in we were tired and our excitement was drained. I cannot imagine paying the $60/$70 for the normal general admission without the discount and waiting that long, I would be even more livid. Even the fast pass line was moving horribly slow which delayed us. Anyways we went in at 1:05 and where out by 1:35. While the actors were again great, we didn't get to enjoy it all fully because the people in-front of us were going slow so the actors didn't always have time to rest and the two groups behind us were rushing so we kept getting grouped together and only some of got to experience the hands on part. Improvements: I think instead of half hour time slots do hourly. That gives the groups of people time to go at their own pace and then the actors time to reset everything before the next time slot. Also instead of sending people in after 3 minutes of sending the next people in wait about 5 minutes or walkie to people and ask how far the group is ahead of them. You could also separate the 3 attractions instead of funneling people through the three in the same order. I think this would help cut down on the time on that single line. read more

Had an awful experience here... right when we walked in for the haunted house the actor grabbed my boyfriends face. When my boyfriend said please "don't touch my face" he grabbed him even harder. I understand we are in a haunted house, but there were no limits. And these full grown men were tossing these little teenage girls around. It wasn't even scary it was just aggressive. Not to mention one of the girl actors blew in my face... shouldn't be doing that when Covid is still higher than ever. Will not be back! read more

I attended Nightmare on Edgewood on Halloween (10/31/20), this was my second year in a row back and it did not disappoint. I commend them on the setup they have at their attraction - it is nice that each haunted house is right after another meaning that you do not have to wait in long lines multiple times before entering. We purchased the VIP pass and went early, and the longest we waited was about 20 minutes. The overall experience was a fun fright and worth the money. My only complaint I have is that buying ahead online does not allow you to skip the line completely, as you still have to pick up your ticket before entering the attraction. read more

The wait was too long and they don't control the line. Just as good elsewhere. My first trip here and not worth it at all. In the waiting area, people were cutting the line all over the place. The waiting area was dark and chaotic- providing opportunity. During the initial zig zag of people, we did cut back in front of the perps that tried skipping us. We stood in line for 3 hours y'all! 3 hours! Once we were at the house entrance, we noticed people from the back of the line had been going under the rope to the front of the line. So that is why the line was so slow! And the teens around us that stood in line forever couldn't stop the perps from climbing in... what could they do? A grown a** man with his 3 kids and wife snuck in behind us and a group of 4 teens. 9 people! You don't realize it when you start how long it will take, they move you to different rooms. So, at the front, I told the ' ticket scan person', as jerks were piling in behind me under the rope.. she said it had been happening all night. But she was young and couldn't stop them. She told the security guard standing a few ft away and the 'head guy' with headphones on. He said 'oh I recognize their faces, they have been here awhile' and did nothing. I dropped it. It was midnight and I would have to walk with my kids back to my car, alone, with those same perps. Sirs, Mr security and Mr yellow shirt guy- I think I would recognize who has been behind me, I've been sardined with them for 3 hours!! So, is the scare worth maybe a ONE hour wait? Maybe. Other places were similar without the BS. DONT waste your time here. Moral of the story: skip the line!, security guards don't care!! No one will do anything read more

This is the best haunted house experience I'd ever had! Beware this is not for children or the faint of heart! You will be touched! You will be terrified! My boyfriend and I attended this haunted house last night and had VIP passes, I would highly recommend purchasing them because the line gets pretty long. The theme and set of Nightmare on Edgewood is amazing! The beginning was my favorite part, scenes from all of my favorite horror movie characters and plenty of scares. I had no idea what was going to come next. The actors clearly enjoy scaring the shit out of everyone and I was grabbed several times, which added to the intensely terrifying tour. My husband and I visited last night, 10/16/2020. We purchased the combo tickets for House of Trepidation and for Nightmare on Edgewood. Now my husband and I are not scared people, but we definitely go to have fun. And that's exactly what happened. As we went through, we were met by beautiful props, many new, that we couldn't help but admire going through. When we came upon the Michael Myers scene, I was met with a stare down to which Michael held his hand out to me (and I took it) then was dragged through the room. My husband leisurely strolled on by not having a care to what was happening to me. I laughed while others pretty much scolded him. Continuing on...I was pretty much grabbed and tossed around like a rag doll which caused giggles while my husband just kept going. So I got one of the workers, near the locker room area, to pick on him for a bit. They grabbed his hat which grabbed his attention, and they started rubbing his head like he was Mr. Clean! Hysterical laughing could be heard by me because he gave me the look as though he wanted to poke me in the eye. He then was grabbed and finally I heard him start laughing. I could keep going on about all the action we received, but we had a blast and, to me, is always worth wait times. Overall, the design was wonderful. The actors were wonderful. They kept us entertained! My one comment, though, was the last stretch on the outside. My husband and I saw one of the actors struggle with the chainsaw which, if you are scared of chainsaws, would have set you at ease. My husband pointed out that if they would've put an act of some sort it would've made it wonderful. There was another gentleman/actor there that we weren't exactly sure of what he was doing. He just stood, staring at us. He then grabbed his chainsaw, started it, and started walking with us. The third actor started the chainsaw in front of us which throughly confused my husband. We expected at little more fierce with the chainsaws, but didn't receive that. Even if they couldn't get the scare, keeping entertainment makes all the difference. Overall, good job and if I can make it back before then end of the year, I'll be there. read more

Nightmare on Edgewood - Haunted Houses Near Me - Indianapolis, Indiana

As a precursor haunted houses are not scary to me, but I expect the actors to follow the rules and laws. I went to Nightmare on Edgewood last night with my husband. When we arrived it was dark outside and barely any lights around the ticket place. We walked up got our tickets and went to get in line. The area where you wait in line was semi-lite. The lady that releases you to go in gave no instructions. We walked in the haunt and at first it was fine, but then the actors start grabbing you and we even saw one pin a kid up against the wall while the actor lifted him off the ground. As we walked further through the actors really started grabbing escalating what is to be "appropriate" touching to "not appropriate" touching. They grabbed me and my husband. One actor (blood stained lady character) grabbed my husband on his chest and held onto his shirt. Even though he is a guy this still goes beyond the bounds of appropriate touching. Other actors grabbed me despite repeatedly telling them to not touch me. Then as we were exiting the first haunted house the Jason character I think or whatever one is at the end put his arm/hand across my chest to block me from moving. Even being asked repeatedly to not touch me. This was done right in between my husband and I. My husband was walking in front of me. This is all important because actors in haunted attractions are to be counseled on touching and what is appropriate and what is not. Appropriate touching is to be on the arms, back, and lower leg (below the knees). A general waiver when you purchase the ticket, and can locate an instruction sign in the black night and actually read the smaller font describing the event as interactive does not negate the responsibilities of human decency or refraining from inappropriate touching. General waivers do not shield the haunted attraction or any business from the law, or its actors from inappropriate touching. Further, Defense (or human nature response) of self against inappropriate touching is not welcomed in the haunted house and or triggers a guy stepping in to threaten or kick you out of the haunted house. But, when a person asks for the haunted houses attorney name and manager information - and complains of being touched inappropriately, all the manager, Kevin Look, is that his information is on the website and that he'll show you the way out. Same with the security guy (name unknown) in the Ranger Battalion hat. No apology (just an eye-roll), no offer to file or assist in filing formal complaint or report, and no offer of refund. It is equally disturbing that Look was quoted in article for Fox 59 that says that "... we're not going to touch anyone inappropriately,..." maybe retrain your staff. read more

Nice haunted house good scenes. It was a good time but as a 21 year old it's not nearly as scary as what you think it would be. It is the best in the state that I have been to but If you're a thrill seeker don't let the "top 10 scariest haunted houses in America" provoke you into driving a long ways out of the way to visit as it is not an intense haunted house. Wasn't worth the wait of 3 hours. Thought it was just because they only let small groups in at a time but realized people cut the line so much at the front. They say they don't tolerate cutting but they didn't do anything about it when it happened right in front of them. The actual haunted house was fun but not worth the line. read more

I've been to a lot of haunted houses around Indy and this one was by far my favorite. The actors are able to touch you but never take it too far which just adds to the experience and makes it scarier. I came across Nightmare on Edgewood through a google search. Complete accident, but decided to check it out. I'm so glad I did! Here's what you need to know: This is a pretty scary haunt. They make it clear to you that you WILL be touched. You'll be on your knees crawling, they will grab your legs. They may take your shoes off. They may use a buzzer to "shock" you. There are a number of mazes and I didn't get through all of them. The ones I did go through were awesome! The first one, and I don't remember the name of it, was pitch black. You're supposed to feel along the walls to find your way out. Monsters will pop out, follow you, grab you all while you try to find your way out of the maze...in pitch black. LOVED this one! It probably took me 20 minutes just to get out of the first area. I was truly lost. As I said, I didn't make it through all of the mazes, but I will be back to complete them. When you buy your tickets, you have the option for a $5 add-on. It's called, "The Last Ride". I won't give away too much, but I'll suggest you do it (unless you're scared of tight spaces). It's an experience you have to go through alone and you'll be underground for about 3 minutes or so. So cool :) I feel like this haunt is sort of "off the map" and I have no idea why. Out of all of the haunts I've been to in the Indy area, this one is by far the best, as are the people who run it. Check it out and please review it. Terrible set up. You have no idea how long the line is when you buy your ticket. So wait 3.5 hours in a smoky nasty line. They have a fast pass line that slows things down. People jumping line. "Friends of DJ" getting to skip line. Then let more fast pass people in an hour past ticket purchase deadline. So in the end I waited from 10pm to 2pm, eyes burning from the smoking section with a fan blown by it into the crowd. Warming: just don't do it. Save your money read more

Awesome haunted house! One of the best I've ever been too. Yes, the lines were long so come early, but worth the wait! We were there last night and it was packed. They had hand sanitizer and required masks. The floors looked marked for groups to stand and several announcements were made about COVID procedures. The girl that took tickets reminded everyone to keep their masks on when she saw people without them. It seems like the staff were organized and efficient. Unfortunately, the customers seem to be the problem when it comes to following the rules..... not by any fault of the staff. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Had SO much fun here the night before Halloween this year! It was an hour wait when we got there at almost 8pm. But it was worth it I think. The actors really grab at your and poke you and push you up against walls and scream in your ear. The haunt is long and detailed and creepy and it was just a lot of fun. The Price was worth the haunted house but NOT the wait we got there at 8:03 didn't leave until 2 am it was hot and the lines were so tight at everyone was at least shoulder to shoulder like COVID is not even around still. We looked online and it said 6 people only we texted before we got there and they allowed 8 for us cause two were minors and still had such a difficult time getting in after waiting 4 hours won't be there again read more

This is probably one of the best haunted attractions in the Indy area. I went on opening night this year. It was just as good as it has been in the past. With that said, I was pretty disappointed with "The Last Ride". It seemed like something that might scare a small child, but the only good thing about it is the fact that they won't tell you much about it until it's your turn. The other review on here talks about being underground and I honestly don't think that's the case. It felt like the casket you get in was sitting on a hydraulic system of some sort and it's supposed to mimic the feeling of being inside a casket in the back of a hurst. The audio they had playing while the casket is bumping around was pretty cheesy. Nothing realistic about it. My hope is that they scrap this next year and come up with something better. Building on the same idea and adding something more realistic might even work. Other than the newly added attraction being less than stellar, this place is pretty amazing! I will continue going back every year that it's open. read more

When I tell you they rock this year and are definitely worth the money......I mean it!!! It was awesome! The actors are really into their job, and you never know where they are coming from!! They jump out from everywhere! Be careful because they are FULL contact, so if you don't want to be touched....don't go!!! It was amazing and the actors were great. My favorite part was somewhere in the clown area and I saw the cutest clown ever with brown curly hair. He looked about my age(15-19 y/o). He grabbed me and held me close to him and called me cupcake. Then we walked away and he popped out of a picture on the wall and grabbed my arm and pulled me in and stroked my hair and called me cupcake again. Then when we left that room he said "good-bye cupcake" I know that's what the actors are supposed to do but I fell in love with him. I wanted to ask for his number but I knew I couldn't do that. If you're thinking of getting a ticket to nightmare on Edgewood Or House of Trepidation I hope you've carved out 7 hours for general admission and 4+ for "fast pass". I took my daughter and her friends last night. There was 0 parking available. The teenagers directing traffic just couldn't seem to help. The adults directing traffic we're trying to get people to leave and not park. We parked next to a very sketchy house. I was reluctant to park my truck there. Seriously! We walked up to the admission area. There was a line wrapping around the parking lot. We were directed to get in that line. I purchased 4 fast passes for $35 each and paid the $10 convinced and service fee. I was just not understanding the process. The online ticket says to arrive within a 20 minute window. At that moment another patron was having a VERY LOUD verbal altercation with an employee. Apparently the guest was upset about the line situation and voiced his options. His girlfriend flipped the worker off which only added fuel to an already tense situation. I stepped in and broke up the fight. The owner came out and continued fighting with the customer. Most unprofessional business owner! I personally spoke with the owner about the situation and he could have cared less. Once inside the attraction the line for fast pass was clearly marked and we only waited about 20 minutes. The line for general admission however was another several hours. Absolutely no social distancing happened inside. Concessions were being served as almost to encourage removing masks. Staff members were extremely rude to those who didn't have parents accompanying them. In fact most teenagers were dropped off or drove so there were few parents at all. The haunted house itself was okay. Some rooms were really well done, actors tried to scare us etc. The rest of the haunted house was mediocre. The wait between "attractions" was 5 or so minutes each time. It really broke the "theme" and took away from the entire feel of the haunted house. I reached out to the owner and retold my horrible experience. He could not have cared less. He accused me of Blackmail when I asked to be invited back as his guest. I told him I didn't think many parents would appreciate his lack of professionalism, staff who fights with patrons, fights in line, requiring masks but then serving concessions and encouraging mask removal. There was an off duty IMPD officer on site but I'm not sure he was even awake. Lots of drinking, smoking weed and who knows what else happening in the parking lot and lines. I would save your $150 (fast passes for 4 + fees) and your 4+ hours of time. If you think you're dropping your kids off at a safe, fun, Halloween attraction--you should AVOID NIGHTMARE ON EDGEWOOD. read more

Overall haunt was pretty good, actors were extremely devoted and they really interacted with you rather than just jumping out and then leaving. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was customer service. Another friend of mine left a review as well, but there was specifically an old man at the entrance who ruined the experience for me. We were messing around about 10 feet from a bonfire, not at all close, and this man looks at us and very rudely yells at us, demanding we sit on the bleachers. Then when we asked to go to the haunt since the rest of our party had arrived he maintained his extremely unpleasant demeanor. Overall the haunt itself was pretty fun and had some very cool scenery and effects. Even though they could touch, it wasn't as scary as it could have been, but for a first time haunted house experience you will definitely feel frightened. The one problem I had was with the customer service. Me and my friends were standing about 10 feet from a fire, not close at all, and because one person shoved another in fun and not even hard, an old man yelled at us telling us to sit on the bleachers. When my friend asked if we could go into the haunted house now, he very rudely snapped back saying "Do the haunt and get right back here and sit while you wait for your parents" (we drove there while on break from college). Kind of felt like I was in Middle School getting a detention for no reason, not customer friendly and for no good reason. I understand safety, but he blew the situation out of proportion considering we weren't even close to the fire. read more
