I had the exact same experience as Scott. I had been told by a law enforcement officer who was…read morealso that departments firearms instructor that if I wanted my Para 1911 repaired that Barlow's Custom Guns was the place to take it. (They are the best on repairing 1911's). I went to the shop and told them of the problem I was having with the gun, that it was not cycling fully to chamber the next round. The gun was left for several months and not hearing from the shop I went in and was told that they couldn't find any issue with it. After getting the gun back I called Para and reported the cycling problem to them. I was sent a return box; postage paid and sent the gun to Para for their EXPERTS to look at the gun. They contacted me after just a few days and told me that the PROBLEM WAS OBVIOUS, the frame was bent, and a new gun was sent me by Para to replace the broken one. Now that is customer service. P.S. I told the department firearms instructor of my problem with Barlow's, and he said that he would NEVER again recommend them to anyone else. Scott I. Elite 24 Salt Lake City, UT 55157121 Sep 30, 2021 If you want to leave your gun somewhere and not have it touched, then this is the right place. I left an over and under beretta to have a new stock put on - two calls and nearly six months later he hasn't started on the project. He proudly told me that he had many firearms that had been waiting over a year. WTF? Your proud to be a gunsmith that doesn't fix firearms??? Perhaps he is good, but hard to tell when it went months past dates discussed and the the needed parts were there.

I changed multiple parts from original to new and Nothing changed. If I wanted a full auto, I would have bought one. I was given a card to Sportsman's gun repair service center and after a call, I decided I just had to make the trip. John B. was my service Technician and he truly proved himself to actually be an EXPERT!! After disassembling different parts in the gun by logic, he finally located the problem, replaced a worn part and took the gun back to their test firing area. He returned and said everything was working great but suggested a test trip back to Legacy Sooting Center ( My Favorite Range) and do thorough testing with multiple rounds, which I always do. John said if I have any problems, come back for any further service. Here's the end of the story so far... John refused to charge me even a dime for his & SPORTSMAN'S time and efforts! HOW'S THAT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICE !

Only certain chokes would fit. Returned the gun for repair; 9 months later, it returned with USED, incorrect barrels (3" chamber vs. 3 1/2"). It returned back today (11/01/2025-6 months later) with incorrect barrels (again). My stock and receiver were also damaged and filthy. They have had my shotgun for 20 months total. They absolutely suck.

Took my gun in to get the chamber polished to help the shells eject easier. Was told it would be 2…read moreto 4 weeks depending on the availability of an 8mm reamer tool. First time I called he said that my barrel had to be replaced. I asked about a reborn to a larger caliber, he said he would get back to me, he never did. For the next month I tried to get a hold do him leaving numerous messages. I continued to call about every 2 weeks. I would either leave a message or when he would answer he would give me the runaround about how it doesn't need a new barrel but he's still waiting on tooling for it. One time I called and spoke with his wife and she said that she wasn't aware of my gun that had now been there for 9 months. Adam finally called me back after a barrage of texts and messages. He says it's almost done. I tell him I'm moving and I need it weather it's done or not; he says give him one more month I give him till I leave. He says he'll call me in a week to give me an update. I never get a call. I have now been without my rifle for almost a year, I call him and leave a message saying I'm on my way over to get my rifle, I don't care if it's done I don't care if it's in pieces. I am going to get it back. He immediately calls me back and explains that he has lost everything on my rifle but the stock. And that he has been bullshitting me for 9 months on its whereabouts. I get to his house and he is apologetic and offers me an inferior firearm as a replacement. I say no I want MY rifle. His "apprentice" asks why I'm so adimate about that gun. I hold back the urge to fucking explode and tell him it's mine that's why I'm adimate about it and that I've been bullshitted for way to long. I have Adam sign a contract saying he will get me my gun, an equal or greater replacement or cash within one month. One month later I call to see what he has for me. He says nothing, he doesn't have the funds to replace my property. I tell him I'm coming over to get what he does have, the stock. On my way there he calls and says he found the rest of the gun. I get there and it is all put together he says it's been in his garage under a stack of dowels? The receiver is still dusty with a bit of saw dust in the action. The screws are not original and nothing has been done to the chamber. I say I need the original screws. He says "sorry I don't have them." He gives me $40 for new screws and I leave as he says that he is sorry and would like to make it up to me next time. Bottom line this is a Mickey Mouse operation, parts and tools thrown everywhere, never answers the phone, doesn't follow up, looses parts, lies to you on what's going on with your firearm. I had a horrible experience I would not and will not recommend af Jeppson gunsmith to anyone ever. Not to mention he thinks he's faster, sneakier and smarter than the police. Trust me he is not.
