They charged $465, but to my knowledge they are the only company sanctioned by the Robinson family that owns the island.

It was our anniversary so we thought why not. I called around the day of and was able to snag a ride with Maverick Helicopter in the afternoon. They gave us clear direction of how to check in. We had a 2pm flight and we arrived a little bit before 1:15 to check in. We checked in and did our weigh in. We decided to bring my one year old daughter for the flight. We had headphones for her but they did have baby/toddler headphones if you don't have one. The pilot and crew was so kind! They gave us a concise but brief orientation of the flight and safety procedures. My daughter fell asleep the whole ride (for any parents thinking of bringing their littles). The pilot did an excellent job highlighting and just chatting with us during the ride. He gave us great facts about the areas. The views are indescribable and truly were breathtaking. This has been my favorite activity we have done in Hawaii. Thank you Maverick Helicopter for an unforgettable moment!

Easily my highlight on our trip to Kauai!…read more You simply cannot miss out on an experience like this. This was my first time getting on a helicopter and boy was I thrilled like a 5-year old kid as we were about to take off. I'm glad that this was the island I decided to do an aerial tour of because so many parts are inaccessible. I'm talking about untouched beauty here, folks - all natural. Luck was on our side as we picked the most perfect day possible weather-wise. No rain, no winds, just a clear blue sky and the funniest pilot who gave us all the 411 as he flew us so smoothly. We even made it to the "Top of the World" which is said to be always hard to reach due to the island's weather. Spots like the Jurassic Falls, Waipo'o Falls, Waimea Canyon, Heart of the Island, Kauai Coffee Plantation, Hanalei Bay, and of course, my favorite - the stunning Napali Coast were the sights we got to marvel at. It's pretty much all of Kauai in 50 minutes. There's no beating that. Now, sadly, I wouldn't recommend this to those with bad motion sickness since there's no controlling the wind no matter how good your pilot is. You'll be moving your head a lot, too as you try to take in every scenery. I got a little nauseous which our pilot caught instantly so be sure to communicate because it doesn't need to get worse. If anything, puke bags are plentiful so hurl away if you need to. And no, that didn't happen to me. This was indeed one for the books and aside from the photos I took, I have a neat souvenir t-shirt, a gift from Maverick Helicopters to remind me of this exhilarating adventure. I need a 6th star here.

Flying over the Nā Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon, and waterfalls you can't even hike to was unreal, but having the doors off made it a completely different experience. Our pilot was incredible, super knowledgeable, made us feel safe the whole time, and pointed out so many hidden spots we would've never noticed. If you're even thinking about doing this, DO IT. From the moment we arrived, Auntie Mae made us feel so welcomed. She was warm, kind, and organized -- the kind of person who instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. Her energy set the tone for the whole experience, and you could tell she genuinely cared about everyone having an incredible time. Travis, our pilot, was amazing. The flight felt smooth, safe, and absolutely breathtaking. He shared great insight throughout the tour without overwhelming us, and he made sure we got the best views possible. Doing doors-off was unreal -- feeling the wind and seeing the Nā Pali Coast without glass in the way made it feel so raw and magical. The cliffs, waterfalls, and coastline looked like something out of a movie. We're still talking about it. If you're considering booking, just do it -- and definitely go doors-off. Huge thank you to Auntie Mae and Travis for such an unforgettable experience.

Captain Max was incredible--his sense of humor kept us laughing even as the rain and mist rolled in. The two women on the crew (I wish I could remember their names) were fantastic, making sure everyone was comfortable and answering all our questions with a smile. The playlist on board was spot on, setting the perfect vibe. I wish I could find it on Spotify! Despite the weather, the views were breathtaking, and getting a little drenched just added to the adventure. The food was delicious, especially the smoked pork, salad, and fresh fruit, and my husband loved the mai tais. Even without the sunset, the whole experience was magical. After chatting with other travelers, I'm convinced we had one of the best tours available. especially after talking to a couple at our hotel pool who had paid more than we did and only got snacks limited alcohol. I can't recommend Holo Holo Charters enough, and I'm already looking forward to trying their breakfast or snorkel cruise next time. If you're looking for an amazing adventure, this is it!

Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!

And yours need to cancel, turn back, or etc. And even on a nice day, it's the ocean and the water/wind is unpredictable. Even those not prone to seasickness need to come prepared! There is plenty of ways to prep in advance and ensure your not in the middle/back looking at the deck or a bag the whole time. We saw so many humpback whales! And even a mama and her baby! As well as Hawaiian spinner dolphins! And of course the Na Pali coast line! Even on the way back blasting thru the ocean I was able to spot humpbacks in the distance. So it's also what you make of it and my husband and I really had the best time. I also want to say this but all of us are just guests on Hawaii and yes we are paying for a tour but they are stewards to showing us some of the most important parts of Hawaiian history and landscape. That is a PRIVILEGE and I think too many of us forget that. I really would like to thank Shawn, Elijah, and Jay for closing out our trip with such a memorable experience. You guys are all stars! The staff on board was super friendly and informative. The thing I liked best was it was very personable. We made it nearly to Keke beach. Entered a lava cave saw dolphins and sea turtles. And it was so much more than just a trip to Na Pali Coast! I'm not a water person, so this is saying a lot! Our tour was on the Na Pali Kai III, which was a catamaran that could take a max of 32 people. It included snorkeling and deli lunch. Lots of drinks were available at all times. There is also a restroom on board! Meet up was a Kikiaole Small Boat Harbor on the westside, where a number of other tours meet at the same picnic tables. A Liko tours worker will call your name and will come to you and you sign in. We had a party of 5 adults and 1 child (5 year old). There were a few kiddos on board, 1 being an infant. I'm glad the captain let those families go first to get first dibs in the back and shaded area. Though the front is exciting, if your prone to sea sickness, the front is no bueno. Our captain and crew were very knowledgeable and friendly, educating us on history, water life and all things Na Pali. The first hour and a half was cruising the west sighting dolphins! There were soooo many of them swimming in pods, taking air and spinning, it was fabulous! Of course, i wasn't camera ready for them. The next couple of hours was cruising the magestic Na Pali Coast. Unfortunately, this is when the waters started to get rough, we could not go into the open ceiling cave. The captain did go close to some waterfalls making some awesome photo ops. At that time, I started to feel queasy and moved to the very back of the boat (Sick Bay as they called it). A crew member poured a bottle of cold water on my feet and gave me herbal oil to dab behind my ear. He encouraged me to go into the water when it was time for snorkeling, and I did feel better. The area we stopped at for snorkeling was prime. So many fish and honu!!! And the fish were friendly, thank God. My 5 year old was able to put on a floatie to wrap around her waist. There is also a few boogie boards available to float on. I wished I had brought, at the very least, goggles for my 5 year old, as they did not have any kiddie size snorkel gear. Lunch was served during that time also. By then, I was done. I did not get too sick, but I fell asleep during the ride home. All in all, it was AMAZING!!! I encourage to save up, if you have to, for this activity. It truly shows you beauty of Kauai and it's magestic Na Pali Coast. And to add snorkeling and lunch?! Epic!
