The worst customer service I have ever encountered on the Magnificent Mile, at least on the kids level. I had to basically search for and then beg someone to help me. In the midst of him checking my daughter's shoe size, 2 employees who had been standing around avoiding customers came over and started asking him about his vacation requests. Very cool remodel (I loved the shoe elevators but they weren't exactly the most efficient way to move shoes). I also like the wall next to the escalators with the local team mascots. They have a whole smart bar now for their customized items, too. Large store with a lot to offer - just missing that 5th star because 1) The entire women's clothing department is less than half a floor, while men's items take up virtually all the remaining floor space and 2) it's a bit of a tourist trap with virtually no sale or clearance items. We went in for Chicago Bulls jerseys but were told they won't start selling these until September, as their new contract with NBA doesn't start until then. The staff was more than helpful and suggested us to visit Adidas couple blocks away. We tried a pair of shoes on quickly and then left the store. Three hours later and after many other stores I realized my camera was missing. I'm a photography student and my camera is undoubtedly the most valuable possession I have. After tracking down all the other stores and failed to obtain security camera footage in the Water Tower, Nike is my last hope. When I called and the staff told me"Yes we have it"I almost cried, there were many other shoppers around me when I tried on the shoes and someone could easily grab it and go. It is incredible that the staffs were able to spot it quickly and keep it at their registrar for the panicked owner to come back and claim. Horrible service. There were some nice ladies who helped us with a Nike fuel band. They tried to get a co-worker Chris to assist us with set-up. It all went downhill from there. I wish we had another Nike store we could have gone to. We had no options so had to suffer through the bad service. read more

Ugh. This place is the worst. Not only did they not have the product I saw online, but three sales associates gave me directions to different locations in their store to products I did not want or need. When I finally found the product I was looking for (on my own), it rang up for the wrong price (~$33 instead of $19.95). The girl at the register was clueless and reluctant to fix the problem. Niketown is big and has a lot of new items. the bad news is that I am a Jordan fan. Nike now makes you tweet them to try and get their shoes. I have tried multiple times on multiple releases and I never get anything. The reason is because the nike employees stock up and resell them on ebay. There is a select few customers that get through. This is the first time I write a bad review. I love Nike's product, but the service at this location is bad. I came here to exchange my shoe end up returning it. I first ask the staff at the floor to assist me to find out if they have the shoe I want. She didn't even look at me or pay any attention to me when I try to communicate with her. She just said " no we don't have that shoe" and then She just busy talking to another male staff. Then I went to the cashier for help. She is not very patient, which make me feel uncomfortable and disappointed at the service. I looked around and saw that some other staffs are doing their job very well. They smile and have eye contacts with other customers. I hope it will be improved before losing business in the future. read more

I want to like Niketown every time I visit, I really do. But then every time I visit, the staff just seem uninterested in discussing the products or my needs. The worst was on my last visit, trying to find running shoes for my pre-teen child. The staff sent us to the wrong floor twice and when we finally arrived at the right place for her size of shoe, there wasn't anything appropriate for actually running in (as opposed to wearing a "fashion shoe"). Really disappointing, especially given the full prices charged on items that can be found cheaper online. If there's no customer service, why bother to pay full price or make the trip to the store? So while I like Nike products, this store is not a winner in my book. read more

Literally tried calling for the last 60 min (to ensure they have an item I want) and no one answered - multiple times. Someone has to hear the phone ringing... i try to avoid coming here at all costs. no matter what time of day you go here, it *will* be jam-packed with tourists. and because of said jam-packery, the goods are strewn about, not allowing any employee to catch a break. it's rather sad, actually. recently, i had a moment to spare after an appointment in the area, and a dry-fit shirt in the window caught my eye. i knew i *had* to buy it for a special someone. niketown merchandising - 1, amanda - 0. i went in, carefully went through each shirt rack displaying the tee, and couldn't find it in a large. an extremely helpful man (who looked uncannily like mr big shot ((chauncey billups)), only thinner) noticed my exasperated state and asked if he could help me. i told him what i was looking for and he told me to stay put and that he'd check backstock. after several minutes, he returned with no tee. he asked if i had just a few more moments so he could check ALL the mannequins in the store wearing the shirt. why not. after several more minutes, no dice. i had all but given up when mr big shot ran up to me and informed me that the woman doing a promo at the store bought two larges and was about to return one. it was mine if i wanted it. after inspection, i purchased the very last large. needless to say, i am extremely impressed with the level of customer service i received. thank you, mr big shot! read more

They have a GREAT selection of running clothes for women - who wouldn't be a fan of that? The associates who helped with shoes were friendly, but I didn't feel like they REALLY know what they were talking about and which shoes were "best." I will say though that the guy who completed my purchase at the register was super nice. So 3 stars as far as I'm concerned! read more

This store is awesome! I've been here on many occasions and most of the time I don't even buy anything. It's huge and you can occupy yourself for hours checking out cool Nike gear. There are lots of sales associates positioned throughout the store if you have any questions about anything. read more

I live a couple blocks away and I periodically come through -- and I'm always disappointed. I'm a big Nike fan, particularly Nike Air Max shoes, but the selection and prices at the Foot Action in Water Tower kills what they have at Niketown. Personally, I think their basketball section is too small... maybe I'm biased cause I hate running. read more

They have some decent colorways you may not see elsewhere but the customer service is hit or miss and everyone is always overworked or just plain absent. I go occasionally and usually feel claustrophobic a few minutes in. read more

Great selection but I was disappointed on my recent visit to discover they DID NOT have a selection of ball caps to choose from! I needed to replace my previous Nike Town hat but could not. Jeers Nike Town for not carrying any ball caps. read more

Fantastic renovation for this location. Five floors of great merchandise. Needed assistance with selecting running apparel and was easily able to find help with friendly staff. Only concern, checkout lines could have been better coordinated during rush hours. read more

It surprises me that a store with three stories and such a prime location would have such a small selection of items. I came here expecting some kind of flagship store but I felt like I've seen more Nike merchandise at your average Footlocker. read more

Save yourself the trouble and just order online. You will miss out on the Jordan display but will get better deals online.

It's unfortunate that the women's selection for clothing is so bleak here because the staff is excellent. So ultimately disappointed that there is about 2/3 of 1 floor out of FOUR floors used for women's clothes. Looked like the shoe selection was pretty good but all I really needed was some new clothes. Waited in line for 20 mins, then i found out it was not for do right donuts. So I didn't get the new Jordans and got donuts.

I'm so happy with my experience I went at a busy time but there were so many people to help me. I found my shoe it took no time for them to bring my size tried on the shoe and fell in love and the guy rang me up right there no standing in line or anything I will be back for my next pair of shoes. The merchandise is 5-star, but the customer service for my experience was poor. The business culture of the nike store is just too poor for a store in which every customer is pratctically spending several $100. It would be nice to have a smile with service. This is the why more retail stores are losing a percentage of their business to online stores. No one believes in paying to be disrespected for your business. Train your employees better business ethics. I am giving it 3 stars because I like the store and arrangement of the store, including the merchandise, but customer service is what brings me back. read more

Really nice staff, always here to help their customers, they give great advice when you buy running shoes. I've been there a few times because I'm on holidays in Chicago, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting the city, even if you don't want to buy anything, the store is really cool ! read more

The customer service is a joke. And yes I know it's crowded with tourists as EVERY NIKE store in the country. The it's the overall attitude of the workers there..they don't care and walk around with no urgency. I noticed several just joking around with fellow coworkers and if you complain they all band together and tell you how busy they are. Again the issue is not cause they're busy..again many stores are slammed. It's the culture of the workers here...VERY POOR QUALITY of people they are hiring and obviously the training is not enforced by upper management. I've never received so much attitude from sales people. read more

The five stars are for delightful customer service and a nicely laid-out store, and for clothing that fits nicely, though I may black out the logo so my friends don't see I bought Nike stuff, ha. Yesterday evening was the first time I have been here and I probably wouldn't have gone, were it not for a sports pants emergency, especially after reading the reviews here. But I went and was very happy to be greeted by friendly, courteous and helpful staff both in the women's clothing section and at the cashiers' desk. I did find the dri-fit pants I wanted, they didn't have the top I had found online but I found something that worked. Then I went home and hid the bag. read more

My wallet was stolen on the second floor of niketown last Wednesday. I had the wallet when I walked in the store, not when I left it. I only sat down on the second floor once try on a pair of shoes. After exiting the store I realized the wallet was gone. I went back in and asked it they found a wallet. The staff was completely indifferent. I left my contact and they promised to contact me at the end of the day about the theft or if they found a wallet. Nothing. I called and nobody knew anything. So, keep tight eye on your belongings in the Nike store and call the police when you are robbed, do not trust the staff. read more

Service was awful. I had to wait forever for help and then when I asked a question about the fit of one shoe the girl said I don't really know you will have to ask someone else. I expected more of a selection and more stock. They did not have my size in much. Which is a women 7, nothing crazy. The girls working the womans shoe section kept complaining about their jobs and how late they were going to be there. I took my money elsewhere. read more

It always a bummer when you go to buy some shoes from a brand you like and you get the worst customer service from any Nike store. Most employees were too busy cleaning the store for closing to wait on people and a lot would go out of the way to avoid customers. The upside is I saved $150 that I'll spend elsewhere read more
