Its ok. Place is run down and the place feels a little dirty . Customer service is not great and the gyros are pretty bland. This is my second time coming here thought id give it another shot but its mediocre. Neither good nor bad. Owner operated lunch dive that never disappoints. I believe they source most ingredients from the city which makes for a fantastic Greek Salad with real Feta and olives. Lamb and Pita is also authentic city style street food. Probably even better after you leave the nearby bars. Cheers! read more

Exactly what I wanted! In Oshkosh for EAA and this place came nightly recommended on yelp so I had to check it out. Nice location right next to the college and you can tell that was their main focus. The facility was nothing to brag about but the guys working were very pleasant and helpful. He suggested the gyro of course and the Cajun chicken pita with Swiss cheese. And man did that hit the spot! They do delivery and call in orders. And have a pretty big array of items on the menu. Overall good bang for your buck and I'm sure would be great late night food. read more

Philly Cheese Steak - 3.9/4 Recommended by the foreman of a local paint factory that frequents Nikki's after a late night work shift. Spot on good. Pleasantly close to the real Philadelphia cheese steak. Perfectly grilled, moist, thin steak chopped with soft grilled mushrooms (good, not an overwhelming taste), peppers, and translucent, mildly caramelized onions. I am visiting from the Philly area and this sandwich is close to the real deal. American cheese is nicely melted into the steak/ veggie mix. As a side note: The best-of-the-best real Philadelphia cheese steak is slathered in cheese, meat juices, marinaded meat, soft beef with a vast selection of cheese, including cheese wiz (yep, that canned stuff). Still very good here compared to Philly. Cajun fries-3.2/5 - Much better than plain fries for those looking for adventure, no heat, just spiced with what tastes like oregano/paprika salt. Most customers were take out so don't be deceived by the lack of customers late at night. Most were ordering the Gyros. The restaurant is in back of the building with a generally dark appearance. There is a secret menu item called "the farmer". The list of meat is too long to list here (recommended by another customer) if you can get them to custom make it. Too much for me. Overall, this is a great place for the late night hard working force. I did not particularly care for the hard rock/ punk rock themed music / yelling background blasting from the cook area that included lyrics with the Lord's name in vain. Yelling music with g-d, bi-ch, f--k. Obviously, they had no sensitivity to an appropriate local music selection. Really guys, how about an uplifting ambiance. I was very surprised by what I got at Niko's Gyros. I did not expect this place to be as good as it did, considering the reviews on this page and the nature of Oshkosh. And at a 10 dollar minimum for delivery, it is attainable food on a tuesday night at home. There were plenty of onion rings and fries. I didn't get many breaded mushrooms, but they were good. Oil didn't taste dirty or overused, which is common on this strip of businesses. The Gyro plate I got for $8.00 was pretty generous, not just in salad sides but in in actual vegetables as well. It came with two large feta cubes as opposed to the traditionally dry, highly-oxidized feta crumbles. The amount of gyro meat that came in it was satisfactory. Humorously enough, the double bacon cheeseburger eclipsed the gyro plate in overall quality. The bacon was plentiful and fresh, and it was topped neatly with fresh veggies. There ARE two big fundamental problems with the dishes at Niko's Gyros that I ran into: 1: The meat for their gyros is warmed, but does not appear to have hit hard heat at any point in time, as there is a distinct lack of char, caramelization, or any hint that it is not prepackaged, preshaven gyro meat. 2: The cajun fries are simply not cajun. They are nowhere close to cajun. These fries are doused in paprika and oregano. They would need onion/garlic powder, old bay, celery salt, pepper, cumin, and various other spices before it would need to be considered cajun. I could not get through these. Despite this, I'm pretty sure this is one of the only places in the tri-city area that is doing what it's doing as well as it is. Niko's Gyros isn't a place I'd recommend to tourists and it's doesn't speak of authenticity, but it's the best you'll get in this city. How you choose to interpret that is up to you. read more

The namesake item here, the Gyros themselves are what you should go for if you pay a visit to this place, as they are fantastic! The pita bread is cloud fluffy and the meat is succulent and tender. Portion sizes here are also quite generous, which is a tad unusual for a Greek restaurant, but I suppose any the type of cuisine can be "wisconsinized" after a period of time. Way better than I was expecting, and I had even read the previous reviews! I knew it would be good, but not to the point of being blown away. Everyone seemed to endorse the gyro plate, so I had to go with that. The salad was crisp and fresh with a wonderful vinaigrette. The cajun fries were good. The gyro itself was delicious. The meat was real tender and juicy, the veggies and rice in it were well seasoned and just added nicely to it. The place itself is nothing too fancy, just a small hole in the wall. They do however have an old space invaders knockoff arcade system in the corner. The service from the staff and food though will truly set this place apart. On two separate occasions, my order has taken over an hour and a half for delivery. My husband and I asked why there was such a long delay for two Gyros and we were told they had a rush. The delivery girl was indifferent to our concern. Over the past two months, there has been a steady decline in food and Nikkos customer service. I have had Nyko's gyro plate with side salad several times and I love it! The side salad includes tomatoes, cucumbers, onions (I omit the onions), pepperoncinis, Kalamata olives, and feta squares. The gyro is a plentiful portion of savory meat on a pita with onions and tomatoes. The salad is served with Italian dressing on the side and gyros are served with a side of Tzatziki sauce. I recently had the large salad with a side of gyro meat delivered for lunch, and it was enough food to feed a hungry family! I had enough for separate three meals. The place itself is a little underwhelming, but it is an ideal location for late-night college bar goers. I personally enjoy getting the gyro plate for lunch and having the leftovers for the next day. The serving size is large, as other reviewers have mentioned. But, who doesn't enjoy some cold gyro the next day? Just me? If you prefer your Americanized Greek food served on fine china instead of in a styrofoam takeout box, Nyko's won't be your first choice. But for a thrifty grad student looking for the best dollar value for a nice gyro and Greek salad, I highly recommend Nyko's. read more

Ahhh yum! All I have to say is Cajun fries! Amazing. Whether you have drunk or sober, Niko's is going to give you exactly what you crave (bar food). Be prepared for a line at bar close, but oh so worth it. My favorite go to other than a gyro is the double cheese burger combo w/Cajun fires. Extra cup of mayo. Yum! A dumpy college restaurant with decent gyros. We usually order for deliver or pick up. It's just to grimy and college-y to eat in. The gyros are stuffed full. I must say, This is the most filthy place I have ever been in. Your feet stick to the floor, the tables are filthy and the baseboards and walls are disgusting. they have a video game in there that you should not even touch. Gross! I can't even believe that they could pass a health food inspection. If the customer side of the counter looks like the cooking side you should be afraid. I'm sure that the customer side of the restaurant side of the business has not been cleaned in well over a year. This is in the Oshkosh location. If the owner has been in there he should be ashamed.
