9/8/2024. First picture is an actual Chicago Italian Beef from Chicago!!! Customer Service: 9/10 How Fast the food came: 9/10 Quality of the food: 6.4/10 Pricing: Above average Ordered a Gyro combo and an Italian beef combo and it came to $28. I took a trip to Chicago last week and stopped by Johhnies Italian Beef. The difference is night and day between that and the Taste of the Windy City. I think what throws off the Italian beef for the Windy City is the bread. A different type of bread was used in the city. The Gyro was decent, above average. Fries and onion rings were fresh and hot. The portion on the onion rings were kind of sad so be aware when you order them. The service was top notch. 2 gentleman working who spoke with manners and served fast with a decent crowd plus Uber eats orders. I would maybe stop back because my go to spot is Chicago grill more towards downtown Appleton. Will do a review on them soon!

Enjoying a gyro today. Very good gyros at Windy City!

Love there gyros and fries. They pile the gyro with lots of meat. There salads are really good and well worth the money. The owner/ employees are always friendly and care about your feedback.

    Gyro! Yum!

I'm from Chicago and this would definite for in for the foodies at home. Clean and new feeling. There was a bit of construction going in during my lunch so I couldn't give it 5 stars. Friendly and helpful staff.

This place is insane. It smells amazing, super clean, VERY reasonable prices, and the food is killer. I stopped in because of it's proximity to the DMV but I will be back for this food! Adding a pic of my Gyro and Onion Rings to make you drool!

Good selection of food and everything I ordered was tasty. Bit slow for the lack of customers.

The best gyros and hot dogs in northeastern Wisconsin, would have to go to Milwaukee or Chicago for better.

Crispy with big chunks of bacon and bleu cheese. Also had their house made sausage Tuesday special. Very yummy with garlic and sun-dried tomatoes right in the middle. If you need GF options they have em. Didn't have room for dessert but the selections sounded divine. Was a very comfy cozy atmosphere. Not loud and obnoxious where you can't hear your table mates. Seemed like the parking lot was fuller than the crowd let on but found out many folks were attending a show at the PAC so probably walked from there. I will take every future opportunity to go back to this place. Mwah!

One of our party forgot his ID and although everyone, including the waiter, agreed he was clearly of age, it's a house rule apparently that ID must be present. No big deal. Rest of our drinks arrive and we let him have a sip to try because the cocktails were decent. The waiter saw and screamed at him before waddling away to tattle on us to the manager. The other staff stared in horror but also in a way that said this wasn't the first time this guy lost it. Even the manager looked so embarrassed he had to deal with it. Manager started to say he would let us stay when the waiter screamed no and yanked our card from us. It was so pathetic watching a grown man in his 40s throw a huge tantrum. Manager intervened by taking the card away from the waiter and comped everything we had ordered while the waiter was pouting and sulking next to him. We suspect the waiter was homophobic because the reaction was so absurd and unnecessary that it has to be either homophobia and/or a mental health problem. Our friends swear their city is lovely but also acknowledge what happened could have been hate-motivated and they're sad that this just reinforced what many people think about small town Wisconsin. We went to a nearby establishment where we were treated like humans (and they served us clearly upper 30s men without having to check our IDs). On the plus side, we tip very well and are glad this waiter is not going home with an extra $100. Hopefully this restaurant knows what they need to do with this unstable staff member for the safety and comfort of their diners and other staff.

In November 2025 the burger special was the Apple Butter Badger burger, which was a 1/3 pound patty topped with smashed fried cheese curds, sliced apples, apple butter, and wonton strips on a salted pretzel bun. My family and I stopped for dinner so I could give it a try. In addition to the burger I got tater tots. While I don't mind mixing savory and sweet in combos I'm not used to, like having apple on a burger, this particular burger was fine to try once but it's probably not something I'd get again. The apple didn't stand out until the last couple of bites when all I had left was the middle (I eat around the middle first). The wonton strips seemed unnecessary and I would have preferred the pretzel bun without the salt on top. The apple butter was great and stood out in every bite. The tater tots may have been the crunchiest I've ever had and, as someone that has crunch as their favorite food texture, I thoroughly enjoyed them. My wife got the PB&J burger with strawberry jelly and no jalapenos. One kid for the regular Badger burger and the other got just a plain cheeseburger. They also had fries for their side. All of them liked their meals and said they'd get them again. Prices seem super reasonable compared to most other restaurants. The bar area and tables were mostly full, yet our food came out reasonably quick, which was appreciated. Home Burger Bar is a place I'd keep coming back to.

They have an upstairs tap room, an arcade, and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The service was all-around incredible. The employees were warm, friendly, and professional, and they seemed to know exactly how often to check in without interrupting our meal. They spaced out our drinks, appetizers, and entrees just the right amount. Our server Andrew was particularly great. We had a soda flight of their craft sodas for a super super reasonable price, and every single soda was spectacular. We're spoiled in the craft soda department by virtue of living in Wisconsin (Sprecher, Potosi, etc), but this was definitely the best craft soda we've had. Even the wacky flavors like blue raspberry were rich and flavorful--they didn't taste overwhelmingly artificial. I cannot recommend their soda enough, although I imagine their craft beer is pretty good too! We also had a delicious mocktail, which always goes a long ways in impressing us. All of our food was reasonably priced and so, so, fresh and delicious. The Bavarian pretzel with the beer cheese was heavenly!! We loved our entrees as well. Even something simple like the fries were perfectly done--fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. Everything we had their was top notch, and despite the number of things we ordered, our bill was not very high at all (about $50 for a mocktail, a craft soda flight and a soda pint, an appetizer and two entrees.
