"Cowboys, Cocktails, Culture" indeed! What a great find. While visiting the area, I stopped into this place in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The decor is true Texas saloon - Longhorns, Stetson hats, lots of wood and brass. I expected just the usual cowboy saloon drinks, but the cocktail menu showed a wide variety of modern options that looked rather interesting. My curiosity was well founded! I tried their versions of two classic cocktails: The Last Word, which included a subtle kick of habanero bitters, and an Old Fashion, made with botanical gin, homemade gum Arabic syrup and hand-carved ice cubes. Both were truly superb, highly unique, and made me want to know more about this place. I asked the bartender Random (yes, he said that is his REAL name) about these twists on the classics. He said they use top quality spirits with a variety of mixers that are all made by hand. This craftsman-like approach seems to be a theme: Even his interesting leather and canvas bar apron was custom designed and hand-made. It's worth a visit just to check it out! As we chatted, Random offered to make me a custom cocktail on the spot. I usually favor gin, and he whipped up a concoction that was amazing. I have no idea what went into it, but I got a picture of him preparing it. I strongly recommend it, whatever it was! I definitely intend to return in my next visit, working my way through that tantalizing cocktail list. And asking the bartender Random for more of his personal gourmet surprises!

Excellent artistan cocktails - Fabian is a fabulous bartender! We can vouch for the bloody Marys and the manhattans - probably the best we have ever had which is pretty darn good. The ambiance is great too with the old gambling area downstairs. Definitely will back !!

Great $5 Old fashion and $1 high life for happy hour. Inside has a long bar and tons of tables. By far best cocktail in the Stockyards.

We opted to go for straight up meat and potatoes. Let me tell you the Wagyu ribeye Tomahawk was the bomb the meat melted in your mouth and they also give you tons of their potatoes and all the sauces that you can try. I personally had a bone out ribeye and I opted for the garlic Demi glaze. You have to get the Demi glaze. It's simply amazing. I could probably drink the whole freaking thing. Every person at our table was trying to steal my demiglaze. The meat was simply the most tender juicy thing I've ever had. I don't think they need to give me even a steak knife to cut this. It was flavorful tender, and the best cooked steak I've ever had. We will be back after I get out of my meat coma.

First, major credit to Avery and Nancy, who were incredibly kind and patient considering we arrived fairly close to the end of lunch service before the restaurant closed for its afternoon break. We never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I started lunch by ordering another cocktail (which may or may not have had me buzzing a little by this point) along with the 12 oz. prime rib steak served with buttery herb mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri sauce. I'll admit, the steak was thinner than I expected for Texas (I sort of anticipated a Flintstones-sized slab of beef) but honestly? It was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were rich and even the vegetables were great! My dining companions ordered a bit lighter fare, I believe a salad and grilled cheese, but I was far too focused on my steak situation to pay close attention. I left absolutely stuffed and very, very, very happy about it. The atmosphere here is upscale without feeling pretentious. Between the Western inspired decor and the relaxed energy of the Stockyards area, it feels welcoming. Also worth noting: apparently bachelorette parties featuring men in cow-print overalls are welcome here too, so truly something for everyone. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. I'd happily come back the next time I find myself in Fort Worth!

The atmosphere here is definitely the highlight, live music, people dancing and cowboy energy, anything you could imagine from a classic saloon bar. It makes me feel like I've just walked into the previous century. They also have plenty of beers and strong drinks options, and we really enjoy our 2 cocktails (but I don't like my bartender, he's a bit rude to us). Have to say White Elephant Saloon is more than just a local bar, it's a part of the whole Stockyards experience. All the old-school Texas details makes this place so unique and memorable. If you're exploring the Stockyards area, this place is a must-visit to your list. I love this place and I just love how much personality Texas has, and I would definitely go back for the vibe!

The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.

We poke our heads in (accidentally going through the exit door. the front door is well camouflaged) and just found a wonderful very chilled out bar. Haven't been to a speakeasy in a long time. It was dark lighting with ambient black lights and string lights to keep it dim but you wont struggle to see through. Music was not super loud and the chairs were incredibly comfortable and the whole place was laid out to just have drinks and lounge while talking with friends. No food, which is fine. You have plenty of options on the same block for that. This place is just for drinks and conversation. The seasonal menu was awesome. It iss a bar so they of course can make anything you request if you don't want a specialty cocktail. I got my favorite, a moscow mule but they had a brazilian mule on the specialty menu. I never had that before and ordered it on the spot. It was grapefruit vodka with lime, lots of fine pellett nugget ice (the really good kind) with ginger beer and condensed milk. My god it was great, they told me how they made it because i never saw milk added to this before. It was a delicious limeade that almost was slushy like, creamy and with tangy vodka. Plus they actually served it in a proper copper mug. Best mixed drink ive had period and a cool twist on my favorite standard moscow mule. The place is now going to become a frequent haunt for us. Its very laid back, relaxed, with fantastic ambiance. It doesn't get jammed packed and is not meant to get wild in. We went there around 7pm on a friday night with about 8 or so others already there with their drinks. It did pick up later with 15-20 people in there but still spacious and comfortable. It genuinely was just a nice bar to have drinks and conversations with friends. Nice music that isn't too loud so you can talk with normal voice levels. The bartenders we had were super nice and charismatic. The drinks were not expensive, a respectable 13 bucks for my mule. If you have a bill over 40 dollars they automatically add 20% gratuity to it so keep that in mind when you are tipping. And after 8pm everything had 20% gratuity added to the bill. But the service is so damn good that you will probably still want to tip on top of that anyways. I loved it so much i actually made a yelp account just to post a review. TLDR super cool speakeasy type joint, cool aesthetics and laundry theme. Not loud, good for drinks and chit chat, cool well crafted specialty cocktails that don't break the bank. Good bartenders. Good times. Cozy seats that encourage you to hang out and talk even with folks you haven't met before and dim without being dark lighting. Clean bathroom too and quick charismatic service. Hit this place up for sure even just for the novelty of it. It was a wonderful surprise bar for a date night. Pro tip for this area in general. all paid parking, some place validates some do not, i am unsure if they do here but there is paid parking right out front and also a paid lot literally across the street. But i don't even bother. About a block and a half away northeast is a big shopping complex with a target. i just park there for free and walk. its a short nice walk and doesn't cost 20 bucks.
