I was pretty impressed with what I saw of the venue and the quality of the services and this review only addresses the hotel as a wedding events venue. The tea ceremony was held in one of their ground floor meeting rooms and the wedding reception was held in the scenic Monaco ballroom on the top floor, which is the 12th floor. The ballroom was elegant and quite nice and airy with floor to ceiling windows and panoramic views of the surrounding area. We all enjoyed the sunset and the mellow transition from day to night during the course of the festive evening. For 100 guests, the reception area outside of the ballroom was perfect with an airy feel, good spacing for mingling and passing of hors d'oeuvres, and a good, efficient, and competent open bar service. The hotel provided a brunch during the tea ceremony and it was a gluten free brunch buffet menu due to some guests' dietary requirements. The room setting for the brunch was also classy and elegant. The hotel kitchen also prepared the wedding reception dinner which included a filet mignon and grilled salmon combination as the main entrees for everyone. There were also a few kids' meals. The hors d'oeuvres were all excellent and generously sized and a food highlight. I personally didn't enjoy the gluten free brunch items as much, but they were still ok as mid-morning light touch items. The dinner entrees were a-ok, but not tip-top great I would say. Also, for whatever reason, a dinner prep miscount occurred, and one person at our table awkwardly didn't receive his dinner entrees until about 20 minutes after everyone else. Overall, I'll go with a 4 star rating for the experience. The physical venue is a 5 star rating given the scenic ballroom, their convenient and ample parking capacity, and excellent open bar and hors d'oeuvres service. The brunch and dinner we had was good and adequate but brought the overall wedding venue rating to a 4 in my opinion. Overall, still a quite nice job by the Doubletree and thank you for your contributions to a wonderful day here.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The hotel feels dated, and the lobby had a musty smell upon arrival. Our room was fairly clean, but it was quite small, especially the bathroom. The biggest disappointment was the pool area. It appeared dirty and neglected. There was visible dirt at the bottom of the pool, and the outdoor area had cigarette butts and champagne bottle caps scattered around. The indoor section contained deflated pool floats. The condition of the pool area also raised concerns about overall maintenance. Seeing dirt in the pool and trash left around the deck made me question how closely other aspects of pool upkeep, such as water testing and chemical monitoring, are being managed. I also noticed a safety concern: the pool deck had been resurfaced, but in the process, the depth markings in the outdoor portion of the pool were covered up. The outdoor part of the pool is deeper than most hotel pools, which makes it even more concerning that the depth markers appeared to have been covered during resurfacing. Additionally, the door to the pool area was not locked. One smaller but frustrating issue was the room amenities. Our reservation was for four guests, yet the room was stocked with only three sets of towels. At check-in, we were also given only three cookies. If cookies are intended to be a welcome perk, it would be nice if every registered guest received one. Overall, while the room itself was reasonably clean, the dated facilities, neglected pool area, and lack of attention to details made this stay disappointing. We would not stay here again.
