There's a good-enough amount of storage provided as well (closet + dresser drawers). If you're lucky you'll also get a decent view, but the surrounding area is more industrial so YMMV. It's overall poor mostly due to maintenance: the clogged drain & visible mineral build up on shower head were the most off-putting. The rest of the experience is just inherently mediocre on top of that: No-frills alcove combination shower; uncomfortable low toilet, small towels, no ventilation... Disappointing, but the Beekman toiletries were actually good. Tech & ENTERTAINMENT -- poor Yester-year LG TV. The user experience is frustrating due to how slow it operates & the resolution. Thankfully there's a mini casino onsite in the restaurant area! That was a delight. WI-FI & CELL RECEPTION -- ok Very mid cell coverage throughout the room. Internet speeds were all over the place; below average even for "free" due to the insane packet loss. --Performance-- Video streaming - average Online gaming - good Video chatting - good --Nerd Stats-- 8-30 Mbps download 5-22 Mbps upload 1% packet loss 77 ms latency 31 ms jitter FOOD & DRINK -- ok DoorDash friendly. Breakfast hours are 6-11 and it's NOT complimentary. Menus weren't allergy friendly (my loss) but having made-to-order food Is incredibly convenient for those that can partake. The grill is open late too. In-room: Large mini fridge Mini microwave coffee NOISE -- poor Not at all sound proof. Expect to hear neighboring guest's iPhone alarms . After we finished I told the host at the front about how bad it was and not worth what we paid and he was just like yeah, it does that sometimes. Months leading up to the event, there was some confusion that the venue was closing down for good, and I don't think they even bothered to call and tell my friend, since they were closing AFTER her event was held. Still, that's going to cause a damn stroke to drive by and see a sign that the venue is for sale. When we arrived the evening of the wedding, the front door to the building was locked. Funny, the sign around back told us to enter through the front...anyway, we ended up going through a back entrance and cruising through the kitchen area, where it was obvious a volunteer and some others were scrambling to get things set up. I don't need a red carpet rolled out for me, but if you do...it ain't happening here. Volunteers should probably wear some sort of name tag, or something that makes them look "official," since my friend's relative asked me to mop the floor after something spilled... It was obvious from the moment I walked in that she put her blood, sweat, and tears into decorating the sh*t out of this place. She made an ordinary VFW into a tropical paradise! Beautiful, bright hues of turquoise, violet, and magenta decorated the tables which were adorned with cute, but classy, tiki barware and candles. This VFW was well-lit, clean, and provided her with great bones to really customize her event. There was plenty of room for guests to sit, dance, and mingle. The "stage" area made for a nice ceremony. I sat in the middle of the sea of guests, and it was nice to be able to hear the vows - and see them - even though a man bun a few seats in front of me would have ordinarily blocked my view. The American flag in the background looked a little strange in some pictures though, but it comes with the territory. Caterers appear to be flying solo here - without a wedding coordinator on site, you need to have your sh*t together. I helped my friend set up the dessert (cupcakes), and almost immediately people began to swarm the table before the couple cut their own cake. Caterers - get some back up, because you are your own crowd control! The bartender did a great job keeping up with everyone. I don't know how many guests there were, but it wasn't the smallest (or biggest) wedding I've attended. She held her own, and the "line" moved rather quickly. She was also willing to serve a group of us shots - something many wedding venues refuse to do. If you love, love, LOVE the idea of customization, and calling all the shots (many banquet halls make you use specific vendors, menus, etc) then this VFW is definitely worth a look. For our wedding reception we used room A which has windows throughout. We worked closely with Peter and Pat and they were both friendly, accommodating and readily available for any questions, concerns, etc. The entire Concorde staff is extremely kind and they nailed it with our wedding vision. Service throughout our wedding was phenomenal. Food and drinks were constant and dirty dishes/glasses were taken away quickly. Throughout the evening, I witnessed staff removing plates while guests were still eating or had only stepped away from the table for a few minutes. Many guests later shared that they left the reception hungry because their meals had been cleared before they were finished. It was disappointing to see such wonderful food go to waste simply because people were not given the chance to eat it. I also noticed that some staff members were abrupt and came across as unfriendly when guests asked questions or requested assistance. A wedding should feel warm and welcoming, and unfortunately that was not the impression many of us were left with. What saddened me the most was learning that after the wedding the family contacted the venue privately to discuss these concerns respectfully, hoping only for acknowledgment and accountability. Instead of taking responsibility, the response was largely defensive, and after a follow-up email there was no further communication from management. When brought up she got defensive and had an attitude with me and guest the whole night. Her family relative was watching my guest over at the bar without even announcing who she was. She pulled drinks out of my guests hands because they thought they had enough to drink and was gonna cause disturbance. Never met this lady before. She delayed the food serving, refused to be accommodating to seating arrangements. Made me and my own girl cousins move tables and chairs if we wanted to change anything. We had seating charts based on the seating arrangements she gave us, upon arrival she changed the layout without noticing us. Overall very unprofessional, we still had a good time but would not recommend at all
