It's definitely not traditional Malaysian Laksa, but the sauce was pretty rich and I'm fine with the interpretation. The daily pasta special was a carbonara with crispy pancetta. Done pretty well. The pancetta was on point, slightly salty but still crispy and great texture. The sauce was nice, not too rich. I know my wife raved about the daily salmon special. Excellent potatoes - crispy on outside but creamy and soft on the inside. Great place to come to for some fine dining while skiing here. Beware it's pricey though.

At night, they moved it up one notch to even nicer fare. Atmosphere was dark and cozy, with a roaring fire and couch at one end. Generous booths lined the outside walls. A small stage was setup for live music. A perfect spot for tired skiers to strip off their outer layers and stay awhile -whether it be lunch or an après ski snack and cocktail. For us, it didn't hurt that it was only a few steps away from the ski school pickup area. And they had a kid's menu. No menu on the table here; It was written on a giant chalkboard surrounding the door and was ever-changing, apart from a few mainstays. Burgers, wraps and sandwiches were excellent and the soup was phenomenal. On my first lunch visit I had a glorious seafood chowder (with big chunks of local salmon) and a few days later a delicious potato-leek soup, one of the best I've ever had. Beers on tap were limited to just four from a local brewery, Okanagan Springs. I tried both the pale ale and black lager - both very good. Beyond that there was a decent bottled beer and wine list. I didn't get a chance to try any well drinks. With a free pass on Valentine's evening, my wife and I snuck in for dinner here, reservations made, but not really needed. My steak was good, though on the tough side. My wife's squash risotto was perfect and very satisfying. Wyndham Estates Winery was there handing out generous tasting samples for everyone. The only disappointing moment was at dessert time - no chocolate! Being Valentine's day, with nice Shiraz flowing freely, a complete lack of chocolate on the menu constituted a major fail in my book. Though considering they are still basically a pub at heart, I don't feel justified reducing their rating based on this one issue. The Den was an especially fun place with the Winter Olympics going in nearby Vancouver, with 3 widescreen TVs showing the coverage. Canadian flags were hung everywhere, and the staff were all sporting "Go-Canada-Go" t-shirts. At one point, when Canada won a gold medal, the staff announced everyone would get a free round. We gladly participated.

The Med ( highly recommend! Will come back)…read more The restaurant has a strong Mediterranean influence, with a fusion of other culinary traditions. I had the Pollo al funghi (Chicken with mushrooms) on linguine pasta noodles. Very good portion with a least 3 different mushrooms and a very good amount of chicken. My love had the seafood penne. Lots of seafood in a lovely cream sauce. Also good sized portion. For Drinks, extensive wine and drink list but because it was a hot day we both had the white sangria (excellent as well) If you have a large enough appetite, I would suggest to getting an order of the bread to mop up any remaining sauce . Service staff were attentive, polite, and professional. I would almost say European in nature, in the best sense of not trying to hurry you along, and yet easily enough to catch their eye in case you wish anything. Sweetie was very happy with the ambience. Cool, and dark(ish) with eclectic art adorning the walls. We went in early and were seated easily but if you come anytime from 6 on, reservations might be required to ensure you have a wonderful meal. Street parking was available ($1.25 an hour, 2 hour max, with the meters only in effect until 6 PM) (I know, couldn't believe it myself...)

We called ahead to make reservations and they added us for 6:30. The restaurant is on the main floor of a hotel and the decor is very elegant with patio and inside seating. They sat us by the window facing the street, which was nice. We ordered the chowder and a half dozen oysters to start. For mains, our kids got the Mountain Burger and mac and cheese. They ate everything on their plates. My wife had the Steamer Pot and I order the Halibut and Chips. Both were excellent. The Halibut and Chips were not greasy. Steamer Pot was tasty with the coconut curry base. We had the Orchard Apple Pie for dessert which was also excellent. Family really enjoyed the dinner, and its close proximity to the park, beach, and boardwalk with boats was very convenient. We noticed that they had Happy Hour specials in drinks and Sharing Plates. Will definitely have to try coming again during those hours. Also if note is it looks like they will validate or reimburse for parking which is good for next time.

It was close to closing time so I thought maybe they were rushed, etc. I went back from breakfast and was awful. I ordered an eggs Benedict, the muffin wasn't toasted, the eggs were overdone, and it was not hot. Nobody came by to check on me and I was very hungry so I ate some of it anyway. It wasn't busy in either visit, so it wasn't a matter of low staff. It's too bad, this could be a nice place.

The small restaurant/market offered different kinds of fish and chips at different price points. There was Cod, Haddock, Halibut, Prawns and Oysters, and we chose to split the Haddock and chips, with extra coleslaw and tartar sauce. The Haddock arrived quickly and hot, with a piece for each of us, and a handful of fries - even for a split dish, there were really large portions. The fish was perfectly fried, and inside, tender and melted in my mouth. The chips were crispy, and I enjoyed dipping them in both the ketchup and tartar. They also provided both white and malt vinegar which I appreciated. After lunch, we perused the market area and saw there were giant crab legs, octopus, lots of fresh fish, poke, smoked fish and crab. I had my eye on the sushi-grade Ahi which I will take home next time to make my own sushi. There were also jars of sauces and dressings, and I spied ghost pepper sauce for the next time I need a good flavor boost. The prices were reasonable, and everything seemed fresh and clean. Looking forward to returning!
