Poorly done dip manicure. This was the day of

I went in to get a dip manicure. The manicure was very poorly done. It was obvious the lady had no experience with doing this before, even though she assured me she did. The very next day after my manicure one of the nails came completely off. The dip powder was not taken all the way back to the edge of the nail, making my nails look grown out. Overall very disappointing.

    My nail color and manicure.

We got talking and when I was trying to look up calendar and make an appointment. He gently told me he's away in Italy and someone from the salon will call and get me set up . That took a while, a receptionist called and I was on the road between meetings she wanted a credit card number to hold . I finally had to tell her I will call back when I stop driving. My only frustration was trying to reach someone but the AI agent was all I got. After a few missed connections I finally made an appointment for Sunday afternoon with Cyntisha. She was very professional and explained what dermaplane actually was and i decided against it. I got a Facial with eye mask and LEd light for skin stimulation and collagen production. It was a very relaxing experience and I appreciate the massage given by Cyntisha . I will be back if I see some deals . I like the store and also bought some products upon my estheticians recommendation.

I'd driven by a few times and wasn't sure if it was coming soon or if it was a shop I somehow hadn't known was there. Thank god it wasn't something I'd missed. We stopped in on Renegade weekend and my friend and I both made appointments with Cyntisha for later in the week. It was her warmth, friendliness, and personality that got me--my relationship with my esthetician is one of the longest I've ever had; I've been seeing her for over 15 years, so seeing another is just not something I've really thought about. I'm a girl who LOVES a good facial and is a sucker for skincare. Facials are easily my favorite act of self care and probably the most reliably perfect gifts one could get me. I've gotten them on vacation to try new technology and experience others' technique. So maybe you see why I was looking forward to it! This facial was incredibly soothing and relaxing. Cyntisha asked me some questions about my skin routine and products, then left to prepare a few things whilst I prepared myself. She talked me through some of the steps she was taking and explained what she was seeing when analyzing my skin. I tried microdermabrasion for the first time and it wasn't anything like I was expecting because I expected it to hurt or otherwise be unpleasant but extractions can hurt more (and I actually enjoy extractions when necessary). The products felt great; there was one that was peppermint and was really energizing, which was nice to have at the beginning before the more soothing moments. Everything just glided over my skin like silk. She did some lymph massage, which I'm not sure I've ever had. This may have made the most dramatic difference. I was truly astonished when I saw after we finished up--wow, do I actually have that defined a jawline and cheekbones? Cyntisha has a firm, confident style that really made the facial great; she's skilled at using just the right amount of pressure and repetition that made the tension in my face and body melt away. It was luxurious, quiet, and serene. And honestly, as a mother of a 10 month old who's all about her mommy, quiet moments are few and far between for me at the moment (mama loves ya baby!). My face was literally glowing when I was done. I wish I took better photos so I could have gotten a picture worthy of it; I felt fantastic and beautiful. I feel bad about it but I'll probably be cheating on my main esthy from time to time. Because of the kiddo it's really hard to visit her when it takes 30 minutes minimum each way, especially when there's a nonpareil spa a mile from my home. There seems to be two entrances, one for the spa and one the main store--but I don't see how they'd know you were there if you used the spa entrance, so I went into the shop and the owner showed me to the spa waiting area. The store is super clean and sophisticated. It's easy to shop. Not just easy, but pleasant, because everything is so beautifully displayed. They carry "clean" beauty brands, and though that's what I generally use these were all new to me. Prices on the skincare aren't bad though, at least not what I bought; no need to pay Tata Harper prices because they carry some opulent but reasonably priced, high-quality products. A little will go a long way, and I'm willing to pay for a good moisturizer, and as I described to Cyntisha, I only want to wear one that feels weightless and not sticky, like water. So hopefully the Osea Seabiotoc water cream will fit that profile. I haven't even yet explored the floral aspect of the shop. But from what was available the first time I stopped, in its top tier. The store is pretty accessible; no steps to get in or out. Parking is...well, Andersonville. It depends on what time you're going and how far you're willing to park, if you need to drive. Go you must, but just don't book the place so full that I can't get in every few months, okay?

The massage during the facial is amazing and she takes her time with the extractions. I've also had my nails and hair done here and I've never been disappointed. I paid for a voucher that promised an hour-long facial, but instead was given a 30 minute facial. In other words, I wound up paying full price for a half-facial. I was very disappointed. And, of course, what can you do about it -- by the time I realize it's only been 30 minutes, my clothes were already back on, I was at the front desk settling up, and I took a glance at my watch to see about getting to my next appointment on time. The aesthetician had good technique while working with my face. She really did -- nice movements that were both gentle and confident. But her extraction was incomplete; when I got to a mirror, I noticed that there was still much work to be done. Also, the overall price is a bit high, given the neighborhood, the location, and the quality of the space itself. This is not a "relaxing" day spa. You will spend the entire time hearing the blow dryers of the hair stations, right outside the door. You can also hear the in-store radio and all the chatter. Again, I could have overlooked all of that if they hadn't deprived me of half of the service I had requested. I am very disappointed that they participated in this LivingSocial offer, presumably to drum up business, and then only offered half of what they promised.

Since the 1st one didn't fit I didn't open the other 2. Today, Sunday, February 2nd, 2025, I returned to the store so I could exchange all 3 bonnets for bigger ones. An elderly Asian man was helping me. He was nice and attentive. He approached the Asian lady, pictured, to tell her my issue and before I could say anything, she walked up with a nasty and condescending attitude. She tells me because I opened the package I couldn't exchange it nor get a store credit (they don't offer refunds). On the receipt it says all products must be in its original packaging and not used. I informed her I didn't use it because it doesn't fit. That meant nothing to her. The cashier inspected the bonnet and she also said it was either defective or for a child. She told the cashier to walk away and once again let me know she wasn't going to do anything regarding the bonnet. She tells me I can exchange the other 2 for a different brand. I said I can't tell the size inside of the package. If I buy another one and it's not what it says then once again you won't let me exchange it. She said that's not her problem. I returned the other 2, purchased some hair oil and left. I don't appreciate being treated like trash where I spend my money. I wish I looked at the reviews prior to coming here. Please don't give this woman your money. *The photo of the woman was taken from another reviewer.*
