This photographer did "school photos" for a non-profit my kids are involved in. We ordered one…read morelarge group photo, and 2 individual photos - one for each child. I received one large group photo and three small group photos. No photos of my kids! WTH? I emailed her several times, with no response. I followed up with the volunteer organizer at our organization, and after checking with Annemarie he was told my kids never showed up for their photo, so Annemarie just made a decision to substitute the group photos. I emailed her asking for a refund, noting I would happily return the unwanted/unordered photos. No response. (Wow - what a way to make a great impression with your customer service skills.) I finally called her today - had a heated discussion, and finally got agreement to refund me. The amount is small ($10) but at this point, it's the principle of things that has me on a tear this morning. Today on the phone she denied *any* responsibility. - She didn't make the order form. (Why wouldn't she provide a standardized form?) - She has nothing to do with the instructions to the kids. (Why wouldn't she provide a standard set of instructions to the organization, and/or bring wranglers with her?) What I understood from the conversation is: her only responsibility is to (a) show up and (b) take people's money and (c) then make random substitutions on their order without making any effort to contact them to find out if that's what they want!) Here's what could happen to improve the situation for future: 1) Reply to emails 2) Have a clear order form with your policies stated on it. (If substitutions will be made, and it's the parent's responsibility to ensure their kids show up for pictures - say it on the order form.) 3) Provide clear and specific instruction to the organization you are taking photos for, with their responsibilities. By the way - another nail in the coffin of customer service - to get my (deserved) $10 refund, I have to mail back the photos she randomly substituted. At this point, with a customer as unhappy as I, one might think she would say "keep the photos". It's likely a total cost of $1 for her. It's an inconvenience for me and I suspect that in her mind she feels like she's getting tit-for-tat. I'd rather just throw them in the garbage - but whatever. I recognize that this probably isn't the easiest business - however, if you are going to work in it, at least do it well. I have never had an issue with other "school photo" type businesses. Based on her website she is not a dedicated "school photo" photographer, and perhaps therein lies the problem. Would I return: No. I'm *very* unhappy with my personal experience with this business. Would I recommend: No. If you choose to use her, make sure she spells out in great detail what her policies are, as her customer service seems to be lacking ( in my humble opinion).

She's able to capture the perfect shots, to know what's working in a shoot and what's not. She's warm, patient and gentle. She makes your shoot fun and comfortable. Amanda even makes casts of your little ones hands and feet! Her prices are super reasonable, she gives you tons of edited photos electronically. They are yours to do what you want with! She has done maternity, Christmas, newborn, mom and me, fall shoots and just did ones of my daughter (9 months)- she's the one on her tummy in the pink dress with the pearls. I will start by saying that Amanda is very friendly and outgoing, and that we had no problems in studio except that we did not have a choice about colours or backgrounds for the Newborn Package 2. Also, we were told that our package did not cover certain sets, so I just went along with what she said because she's the "professional". When we left, I forgot to ask about the turn around time so I sent her a FB message 5 days later (that was our means of communication previously) because my mom asked me to check; my mom was very excited to see photos of her first grandchild. I was sure to say that I did not expect the photos right away, I just wanted to know the timeline. I did not receive a response so 10 days after the last message (15 days after the shoot) I sent another message just asking about the timeline...still not expecting to receive the photos. She did not respond to us, instead 2 days later I received the photos and she did not touch up anything that she said she would. My poor beautiful baby had peeling skin and redness. I do not like to give bad reviews and looking back at the photos, it makes me so sad that Amanda did not try to provide a finished product. I thought that I was choosing a good package based on the number of photos and time in studio, I did not think that it would affect the quality of the work that I would receive. I waited for awhile before commenting, thinking that I was being too picky, but even now, almost nine months later, I am so sad that we weren't able to capture our newborn properly. I thought that if I booked a follow up session, then I could discuss my concerns in person and maybe she would fix her work. We booked on the 26 Sept for a 19 Nov session. On the 27 Oct, she advised me that she doesn't do follow up session on those days. Suffice to say, I would highly recommend going elsewhere. UPDATE: Since posting the above review, I reached out to discuss my displeasure because I hate giving negative reviews. She threatened legal action if I do not remove my review and insulted the looks of my baby. STAY AWAY she is very unstable. I could not believe the comments made. I should not have reached out to try and resolve the situation as you cannot rationalize with an irrational person.

The studio was clean with big windows & large open space. They also have a spacious change room and bathroom. A quick look at their website shows that they also have photobooth rental and they do a lot of big events including weddings. The photographer was kind & helpful and the whole process was seamless.

It's not that I dislike pictures of myself, I have normal enough level of narcissism to enjoy looking at pictures of me. It's that I simply don't know how to act in front of a camera - how big do I smile? how should I pose? Normally it's not that big of a problem, except for the fact that I needed a headshot for work. Despite my best efforts to handle this on my own, I could never get a shot that looked good. This is when I turned to Robin at unposed. I'd heard great things about her work before and had always been impressed by what I'd seen. So when I was up in Ottawa I scheduled an appointment and stopped on by. Robin was very flexible in the appointment time, meeting with me on a Friday night (I was working during the day). She gave me full instructions on what to expect and what to bring to the shoot, making the entire thing idiot proof. During the shoot itself, Robin kept me completely off-guard, having me do all sorts of oddball things. While I originally thought that would make me more self-conscious, in reality it helped me loosen up. I was less focused on the fact that there was a camera in front of me and more focused on what I was being told to do and think about. As for the results, I couldn't be happier. Nor could my wife, for that matter. (In fact, she wants to head out to Ottawa just so we can get shots done as a couple.) Robin did a fantastic job, and I can't recommend her highly enough to anyone needing her services.

I actually really appreciate this place. I always end up having to drive all the way from my 'hood…read moreto Kanata to pick up FedEx packages here, and the staff are always super friendly and efficient. They do a whole bunch of printing and design work here, and they've always got several jobs being done while I'm there like flyers and posters and they do speciality photo printing as well. I've done some photo printing here as well and it's always turned out super well! Their prices are fair, and the staff know what's going on - they offered me some tips and checked to be sure I was satisfied with the final versions. I saw some graphic design work being done also, so it's nice that you can get everything done in one spot. Tip: it's easy to drive by the place. It's in a strip mall just off Hazeldean and past the Shoppers.
