I could have easily bought a box of hair color and dyed my hair if I wanted this. Went to the owner to find some resolution, he was rude, arrogant and dismissive. The space is a little bit "busy." Lots to look at. They have a TV which was playing Korean news. Wish I had my bestie to give instructions, but even with the language barrier, we were still able to communicate. The lady who cut my hair did a really good job in a fraction of the time if I were to go anywhere else! The cut came out nice and my hair finally feels refreshed! The cost isn't bad either. My entire family has gone to Hair IB for keratin treatment over the past 10 years. This was because we liked the previous owner and service we received when the location was on 16330 northern blvd. However, about 5 years ago they moved to new management - Esther. She is a very unprofessional business owner. She always has a very condescending attitude. Every time I leave my appointment, I would always say "this is the last time I go here" but continued to go because I simply didn't want to bother finding a new salon. However, today was the final straw for me and my entire family. I was quoted $300-325 for a root touchup over text message by her prior to my appointment because she said they have on record that I have thick hair so my price would be more than the average customer (a $75 increase from my last appointment). I said okay as I understand that prices go up year over year. When I arrived today, she informed me that actually my price would be $400. This was a 60% increase from my last appointment, not to mention, I requested only 1in of my hair be treated instead of the full root touchups. 1in of hair is $400. This bait and switch on pricing is completely unethical and poor business management, especially after being a loyal customer for so long. Once she had me on the salon, she knew she could charge me whatever she wanted. When she initially quoted me $300 - $325, she knew exactly who I was and what type of her I have, as I have been there many times in the past and she even has her notes about me on file - there were no unknowns about the service. I took PTO from my job for this appointment and sat in 3 hours of traffic thinking my price would be $300-$325 as quoted. Not to mention, the keratin treatment does not last more than a month because she rushes through the process and straightens hair in huge pieces, missing a lot of hair in the process, just so she can take as many customers as possible. Others should be warned of the unprofessionalism of Esther and should take their services elsewhere. It is simply not worth the aggravation and stress!

Two minutes in after he started sectioning my hair and started cutting straight across on the bottom layer, he left for a good amount of time to collect payment from another customer. His response was that the length I requested would cause my hair to flip up on the back and how about some longer layers? I said sure. At this time, I keep my hair tied up anyways to prevent hair falling everywhere. The staff used a small skinny comb to get through my hair which I found insufficient. It was tugging on my tangled hair. After I mentioned I wanted some layers, he started giving me a haircut with his thinning shears. This continued for at least 95% of the haircut. I was really shocked. Not only that, he was using it in a very strange way. I have thick hair so I'm no stranger to hair dressers often using them to thin out my hair. He was cutting the bottom three inches and SLIDING down the rest of my hair. It was tugging and pulling my hair as the shears were stuffed with cut hairs. Not only did this result in broken ends but this stripped the ends of my hair. It's been two weeks at least and I'm still getting broken ends falling off. My hair is so unhealthy now. It seemed like he was annoyed because I felt the back of my hair and it was really thinned out! The sides of my hair were choppy and thick. It felt like a lawn mower ran across the back of my head. The hair dresser also sprayed a lot of water on my head, and didn't bother to blow dry my hair dry at least. I came in with dry hair. It was a rainy Saturday and I left like that. No styling product in my hair and didn't show me the back of my hair with a mirror. He asked me "how's the length?" I responded with "good." And that was the end of the haircut. I'm very disappointed in this hair salon as I frequented it before but seems like all the staff changed.

I would've been fine with it but shortly after my BM got to our apartment which is a block away from Sandra's, her hair was puffy and the curls were flat. Horrible service on the wedding day.
