The best place to go for specialized welding jobs. The owner's name is Neil. I went here to get some aluminum welding done on my car. For my intercooler on my turbo charged car. He does more than just cars. He was able to get the job done and now I have no more boost leaks. overall I was satisfied with the work I got done on my car. The shop was clean when I went in. Always an important observation. I think the only con is his place is a little hard to get to. If you know where Laguna muffler service is, its across the alley from them. Laguna muffler service recommended me to him because they do not weld "aluminum". I was very satisfied with both of their customer service. Remember not to use J&B weld on your metal. Make sure to clean your metal before bringing it to him or the job that needs to be done at your house. You can always ask him to clean it for you. Always ask for an estimate. During a backyard renovation, I came across the need for a custom size copper planter. I contacted Nine Iron, and was answered by Neil. I CANNOT express how amazing working with Neil has been. Neil made my vision for my pot come to life, it was exactly what I was looking for. During the process of creating my planter, I had other issues arise that needed a welder, and Neil ALWAYS went out of his way to help,. Even when the issues had nothing to do with him, he always made sure he helped me fix them. In the end, not only did Neil custom make my planter, he refinished it when it was damaged by another company, he created a custom spark arrester for an outdoor fireplace, created new custom handles for all our BBQ components, and did some work on our existing gates so we would pass inspection. The legs on this piece have been broken for months because I couldn't find the right shop for the repair. I found Nine Iron Design on Yelp and gave them a call. Neil offered to take a look so I took the legs to his shop and he took on the task of welding the legs for me. He did a great job. A huge thank you to Neal at Nine Iron Design for helping us with a dryer vent issue in our garage. The dryer vent wall connector had corroded away and was leaking water into the interior of our home. The part that was needed to repair the connector isn't a standard piece that you can find in a hardware store, and had to be custom made from sheet metal. Neal and his studio does a lot of beautiful, custom creative metal work so I wasn't sure if he'd be interested in helping us with more mundane problem. But when I called him about the issue he was extremely friendly and responsive. Luckily our house was just a few miles away from his studio, so he was kind enough to come by and look at the vent that same afternoon, and take measurements. A couple days later, he returned with a custom made connector that fit perfectly into the existing vent and devised a method using a small drip pan to prevent the erosion from happening again. Our dryer was up and running again perfectly, thanks to Neal! We have lived in our home less than a year, and this was the second water leak issue we've had to deal with. Neal was very sympathetic to the challenges of new home owners and charged a price that was more than fair. He also took the time to give me a referral for someone who could repair the drywall that had to to be cut away to repair the vent. Just can't say enough about Neal and Nine Iron Design! I was so impressed with his kindness, professionalism and quality of work. Especially since this was a small job that wasn't very glamorous. I swung by a couple auto mechanics and a muffler shop needing some parts welded on a motorcycle I borrowed and had to return. Nobody would help, not even the shops that had welders. I showed up at Nine Iron design & saw the owner Neal Moffett hard at work in his shop working. I showed up unannounced with an emergency never been there or used him before. Although he was very busy, he dropped what he was doing & immediately engaged with me, solved my welding needs and was happy to do it. This man is not only an uplifting spirit, he is a problem solver and I would recommend him to anyone. If I could give this guy more stars I would. Neil has worked on my Hot Rods and Classic Cars and is SPOT ON and has "master welder" skills. He doesn't cut corners and he can weld from A-Z. But all kidding aside.. he's able to weld aluminum, steel, or whatever precious metal you throw at him. If you ever need custom work done this is the man for the job. I can't tell you how much I Love these guys, I have a small 19 foot boat that needed some work on the transom, I know why go to Metal guys when I need Fiberglass well, because these guys are amazing. Neil was able to reinforce my boat so well it was better than the day we bought it. The Metal work and weld work was flawless and Solid...Amazing I can't say it enough. Not only did he do a great job but he did it in 1 day yes 1 day. I was going to take my boys and his Cub Scouts group out on the water in San Diego and was not going to be able to because the transom was not solid and did not want to risk it. But because of Neil and his great workmanship we were able to go and have the time of out lives. The Boat was so solid I was never worried.
