Scary! Dangerous! Creepy! Scammers! This "UnAgency" began texting my 12-year-old son on his tablet about his 10-year-old sister's audition. The tablet number is only known by me and was just set up. They knew my daughter's name. My son told them that they had the wrong person. A few days later, they called my cell phone to arrange a meeting for my daughter's audition. Two days after that I get an email from Laura Keys representing Mr. Cooper to arrange an audition for my daughter. The scary part of this whole thing is where did they get all the information they had. They claim my 10-year-old filled out an application. This is a total scam. Run as fast as you can. But after receiving 35 text messages from 35 different numbers asking me to set up a date and time to come in for an appointment. Come in for a "audition" for a Tyler Perry "play" and all of a sudden there asking me to pay 500 to basically do everything I could do my own self (portfolio, contact NBC, ABC, etc). I answered a Facebook ad to be a background extra in The Matrix movie (which is currently filming in SF), and the next morning I started getting texts, at least twice a day requesting that I come in at 1PM or 7PM for an "open casting call". They were careful not to put their company name in the communications. This is 100% bait and switch the Matrix is not even filming in New York. They were way too pushy to be legit and came across the vice "1 star reviews" video and started laughing my ass off because it reminded me of the company name which they were so careful not to name in their texts to me. I foolishly signed up for an Open Call after seeing an Instagram ad about casting extras for Yellowstone, thinking it would be similar to an audition. Instead, it was a generalized Zoom webinar detailing the process of joining a talent agency for modeling and/or acting, and their hiring agent went on to explain the requirements to be a model and an actor. Before joining the webinar, I filled out a page with my personal information and a credit card number was requested at the bottom, which should have been a red flag. I then received an email saying I had paid $99 and was signed up for a $39.99/month membership which apparently included access to virtual talent workshops and public casting calls. I immediately emailed the billing department and requested a refund and to cancel the membership. They reminded me that I have not signed a contract and I can renew, pause, or stop the membership at any time. Do not believe everything you see on Instagram, you will be conned by Nine9! read more

I received this text message that at the moment excited me but then I looked them up and I am not even going to bother to waste our time because we know no reputable agency would ask for money up front. A reputable agency if they see in you what they are looking for, send you out to casting calls and such and if you get the job they get paid a percentage. Unlike many, I was refunded back everything spent since I took actions the very same day and got my bank involved where I spoke to not only one but several people from there and filed a claim, so at the end I was able to get my money back and had already made sure they removed me from their list. Now, they're advertising for something else on Facebook, but mentioned before this is a SCAM and they do just want to own you and make money off of you monthly which is that $39.95 I believe that comes out of your account, while you get nothing for the most part based on what many who continued with this nonsense shared. My nephew met with their Director in group setting where they outlined the "benefits of their Unangency" they never mentioned the hefty $500 upfront charge to take pictures of you and to host a profile on their site. The "Talent Agent" said she wouldn't reveal if my nephew was chosen or not until the end of our discussion. She wanted to get to know him first, I call BS. I asked for references and she stated they weren't allowed to give any because the networks they worked with wouldn't allow it, then she changed her story and said she would bring in her boss to better explain everything. Her boss came in and said my nephew wasn't the right fit for their unagency. How did it go from me asking for references to my nephew not being the right fit? They were very hesitant and said they were very busy to provide any additional info. Clearly I was asking too many questions and they wanted me out. Don't fall for their scam. EDIT - 03/06/18 Still consider this a negative experience and completely forgot about it until a customer service decided to get back to me. It only took them 2 years to respond to my review. No one responded to my questions as I was told my nephew was "not a good fit". They asked me to come in without looking at any photos of me which I thought was odd, and invited me back for 2nd day cause they LIKED me. Sanabel the office director then interviewed me for a moment stepped out and told me they wanted to sign me. I was mind-blown and they told me I have to pay $499 non-refundable fee, to access portfolio and everything and pay monthly fee. Stupidly, my nerves and shock over getting this even though I told them my main interest was there Spiderman casting call took over me. I signed the stuff, and SANABEL told me she'd send me info for Spiderman call in ny and other casting calls for shows like Gotham. She NEVER GOT BACK TO ME AND DIDNT ANSWER MY NUMEROUS EMAILS OR CALLS WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO HER. I was then told I had to go in for follow-up to see how I was doing with applying to these casting calls, but none of my concerns were answered and going over the paperwork I saw I;d have to pay more $$ for a professional photo-shoot. I did not go back to follow-up appointment, and intend to go straight to NYC consumer affairs on these LIARS! Any "casting agency" or whatever they claim to be won't charge you money. The person out of work should not pay for work. After seeing an acting ad on facebook which I clicked and filled out some information, I got contacted the following day by this agency out of nowhere with them wanting to schedule an interview the same day at 7pm (Red flag since normally you would know if its a group or one on one) Excited and happy thinking I was one of the "chosen" ones, Once there in midtown NYC dozens of people were waiting and it became very skeptical to me. Got called inside an office for few pictures than sent to a room where a movie was playing with such a positive message. After being told what they do and how they start peoples careers, I was called for an "Interview" in which they did for everyone and where, if chosen, you would receive an email once you leave knowing if you were chosen for a second interview the next day but "lucky me" got chosen right than and there the first day for that "2nd Interview" on the following day.. (Red flag without them knowing if i had any experience or what they were looking for)... Interviewer was excited for me and invited me back next day, which i never went of course, in which if i was chosen to be a part of nin9 I had to pay right than and there $499 for photos and to be in their system. Ive never heard of a company that charges that without knowing anything about you whatsoever and also wanting the money upfront entirely. Ive been to talent school before so i know the deal and no job is guaranteed neither, take it from experience. I came here enthusiastic; after working all night; two hours sleep, I arrived on time and was greeted by a cantankerous man and was told to wait on time, mind you; I had a 1030am appointment. I wait on line for almost 30 mins, I get to the front, allowed to go in, finally get to the forth floor. Guess what? I'm told they have to reschedule because I was late (keep in mind I was made to wait on a line); did I mention there was only one person in the waiting room and it was dead. I mean really? What gives? I respectfully declined. The súper of the building was not helpful either because I found out that he controls the flow of traffic to and from; however there was no congestion and no traffic to be controlled. The only thing needed controlling was the ride and flippant behavior of the super which unfortunately reflects on the company. I also did some research in this company and simply stated; the reviews are not good and most of the reviews advise to "USE CAUTION" this truly a huge waste of my time and I hope those going don't experience what I did. Have you come in for a group presentation, making it appear that they are free, legit, they are just looking for talent and set up auditions and castings for you. They make no mention of any cost for their services. No transparency whatsoever. Then they prey on people who are think they will sign up, call you in for a one-on-one, make all these promises that they will get you gigs, book auditions, gigs for whatever talent or interest you have. Then they charge you $499 + $39.99 a month for nothing. They do nothing for you except set up on online profile (which you have to fill and monitor yourself) and send you fishing for auditions and gigs for that hefty price tag. They then have your headshots done by the secretary???! They were terrible. when I asked for a refund a week and a half later because I caught on to them, they refused. I feel so duped. I went to Nine9 today for an interview today and at first they show you all of the successful people that they have made and then they take you into a private room to be interviewed by an agent. The agent will be very nice to you but explain that if you make it through to the final interview that you will have to pay out $500 upfront in order to create your portfolio and you must have a professional headshot and other photos taken but they don't say anything about that there is 100% success rate of you nailing a job or getting an acting or modeling career. They try to tell you that they will try to find your strengths and talents and try to find the right place for you in the field. I think that Nine9 is the total scam and I think that everyone should avoid it because there is no guarantee of you landing any type of job and they are just trying to get your money and try to make you feel confident. Complete Scam. Before coming into the audition I asked if there would be any payment involved. I'm already registered with a few background casting companies such as Backstage.com, and Central Casting who pays me $100 per day minimum for roles, and thought it couldn't hurt to try one more company. When I asked the receptionist if there was any payment involved she said no. Yet, I was told I had to pay $500 and a monthly fee. When I asked what the payment was for they said for professional headshots and comp-cards. Not only do I already have professional headshots from the amazing Sean Turi in NYC...but when I asked if this initial photoshoot was a licensed photographer, I was told no, but there were photoshoot packages I can choose from with professional photographers which was an additional $200-$800!!! So that's when I asked AGAIN, where is my initial $500 paying for, and they had NO ANSWER!!!! When I asked what software they'd be retouching my photos on, they excused themselves and still couldn't come up with an answer. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I couldn't help but to laugh, plus when I researched the Office Director she has TONS of negative reviews online for being a scam artist and crooked.
