Extremely Inexperienced and unprofessional. The age old scam of "you need a new, in this case a water heater" $9000, for someone on a fixed income, just because it is 6 years old and operates well...just to make money for themselves!!! This is an elderly/disabled neighbor I check on who was experiencing an unusual leak, not from the water heater but an expansion tank/over flow/pressure tank. She paid $1500, No billing statement given, no explanation of service or parts needs! Terrible! She paid sight unseen for the replacement, item and an additional part sold to her, and 45 minutes for install after he returned from a lengthy lunch break. When I researched the products, $50 for the tank, and $25 for the unnecessary piece, for a total of (($75)) in parts...Service fee $1425?? OUTRAGEOUS!! The service person Jesse then told her that he tried several times but couldn't get the water heater turned back on, proving his lack of training and knowledge, and supporting his claim for a replacement. It was used fine for a quick bathing ten minutes prior to their arrival! The leak was the only issue! At this point is when she was told she needed a new water heater @$9000.!!! GUESS WHAT...Another neighbor friend turned it on for her in 2 minutes, and thinks the service person turned it off intentionally!! Criminal! To prey on the elderly and disabled to benefit one's self! She still has not received an itemized service billing in person or online. He also wanted to keep her old parts to "recycle" which in scam artist terms means one customer pay for and the service reuses it on another project, or cashes it in for monetary value for themselves. Those items belong to the owner if they want to keep them! The company scheduled the estimate appointment timely and Adam came the same day I called. After seeing the location of the clean out and he gave me an estmate of $280 for the job. The reason, he said, was the sloped backyard where the drain clearout is located and the access is difficult. While I accepted the argument (pretty much no choice due to the urgency of the problem), I feel they could have clarify on the web that $73 was only for an easy access in-house drain clearing and all other jobs are estimated at site. After the representative worked his calculations for a couple of minutes, he said, $435. I felt so abused to now that he would take advantage of me for almost $200 and who know what the cost should have been? I was in a spot so I agreed. Working with them has been a bit of a headache, and by a bit- I mean a total migraine. They are getting two stars because the girls who answer the phone are always pleasant, and because the one time they actually came out for the call in question, the technician told me a way I could DIY the project and save money (one star for honesty). We called a few weeks ago to have them fix a leaky water filter. The tech came out, told me how I could fix it, and boom, done. Well about a week later, the part failed again, so I called to have them come out and just fix it once and for all. They got it on the schedule for the following week (which was too long but whatever). The day comes, and they are supposed to come between 12 and 2. I get a call at 1:45 that they aren't going to make it in time, needs to be between 2 and 4. Ok. Then again- nothing. They didn't show until almost 7, to which at that point I said it was too late in the evening since it's a kitchen repair and we are making dinner and need to reschedule. I never hear back regarding rescheduling. So I call back this morning at 7:30, they say they'll be able to get someone out today, and they need to call me back within the hour. Hour goes by, nothing, so I call again. They said again, "just checking something, will call back in five". Nothing. I call back again (by this time it's 1:00PM) and I'm told that they don't have any availability until next week. Even though first thing in the morning, they said that they did. Anyway. Super disappointed. We had the replace our main line last year which was almost $20,000 and they did a decent job then. Unfortunately the issue is getting them to actually follow through with the appointment. I typically use Gold Medal Plumbing for anything else, and this just reaffirmed why I will continue to in the future. read more

They explained the work in full detail but I still wasn't sure I would go with them because of the price. DON'T USE!!! SUCH A WASTE OF TIME!!! NO CONSIDERATION FOR YOUR TIME!!! I called Ninja Plumbers this morning because we had a backup that was slowly draining out of our clean out at the side of the house. They hydro jetted it 15 days ago and it needs it again! Arthur came out at 11:00 a.m. to inspect the problem. He told me that he had a doctor appt for his 3 month old so he could return between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m to scope and hydro jet (again). He was very nice and I had no problem with him coming back b/c he needed to pick up the trailer with the hydro jet anyway. Then, about 45 min after Arthur was due to return, I start reading their reviews and see that they often tell people they are coming and then call them last minute to say they are no longer coming! I called the office asking for his ETA and they had him call me. He said he was sorry and he'd be over in about an hour, which is now 5 p.m. (2 hrs. later than he originally said). Then I receive a call from him saying HE'S NOT COMING AT ALL. He said their hydro jet machine was broken and no one bothered telling him. I told him that he knew since 11 a.m. he was going to need the hydro jet machine and he nor anyone in his office bothered to make sure it was working? That is poor planning and customer service! I took the day off of work and would have much rather spent my day off taking my kids somewhere fun than spending the day being strung along by plumbers. These guys have always been fantastic to work with. We've used them as an HOA for building plumbing problems (usually leaks), and also in our individual unit. Recently, Jonathan and Joshua came out to fix our toilet, which was running in between uses -- it would just start running, mid-day, and then stop. The boys came out, detected the problem, presented a fair price but definitely more involved fix than I expected, and got the job done. In fact, when the problem started up again only days later, Jonathan immediately returned with very little notice to make a few adjustments to his and Joshua's work, no hassle, no complaint, just happy to help us have it done right. Thanks guys! A few months earlier, Albert was sent out to fix our kitchen sink, which was just a mess. The actual faucet was broken and the disposal was spitting things back up in the other sink. 5 years ago they replaced nearly 60' of sewage line. They stopped at the last ~4' of clay just before the mainline, now that is broken. Now I'm being quoted $6,000-9,000 to open it back up. I told him that it needed to be snaked and was clogged due to too much toilet paper and what could be the pricing range for that - the phone operator said he had no idea what his company charges- he only takes appointments- and couldn't even give me a ball park. So I wasn't willing to loose 129.99 and get scammed with a bait and switch situation- as I just read other reviews that they came out and pushed and up sell when on the property. Very disappointed. This is an example of someone trying to take advantage of people. I had a gas water heater that wasn't venting because the vent was joined with the furnace and it wasn't letting the water heater vent properly. I got a quote for $8,500 to have them add an additional pipe, I had to find and pay a roofer to add the roof vent, and I would have to pay even more to have the water heater turned back on. It was going to cost me over $10,000 total. Ripoff! I had a brand new, larger capacity heater installed by someone else, he added one with a power vent, didn't need new piping, didn't need additional roofing work. It cost me $2,000. read more

I called them at 3 PM for a simple job of replacing my shutoff spigot that was leaking.
