Sherwyn is one of the best servers of any restaurant I have been to attentive, ready to answer questions and make suggestions on navigating the menu. Also, this is consistent as I and my coworkers and friends have been to to restaurant multiple times. The food is delicious and homemade. Nothing taste processed. The portions are very much large enough to share and the prices are reasonable. I tend to get the Flag of India with one of my friends getting the Nirvana Special. That gives us 6 dishes to taste from. As for the Ambiance it is beautifully decorated with portraits very repetitive of India. Very good Indian restaurant... we have gone several times and will continue to go back... I love that there's only a $10 corking fee. We ordered the typical butter, chicken, lamb, vindaloo, and my new favorite fish korma. The garlic naan is always hot and fresh... Service is good but had to go to the bar to ask for wine glasses since we brought our wine. Food is delivered relatively quickly and hot!! Nice atmosphere. I feel like the employees that work. My sister and I decided to try a Indian spot in New Orleans and this place was close. The food to me was overall average. Now the appetizers were really good, I had the samosa and my sister had some type of roll, both of which were great. Then I had the butter chicken, my go to Indian meal, and it was good but wasn't as good as other places I've had. We did have to choose a spice level and I think choose mild but i really could've gone spicier and I think it would've been more to my liking. We had the bread basket with the different types of naan and roti and that was good. The mango lassi was really really good. My sister had the lamb vindaloo and again could've been spicier but overall pretty good flavors and good portions. Service was slow cause there was only one waiter, he forgot our drink order and overall just took a while to get to us. Other than that this was a cute lil chill spot for some Indian. Sherwyn always takes good care of us when we come in. All of the staff are kind to our young daughter. I'm not an expert on Indian food but I like the saag and have tried a few other dishes at their suggestion - the nirvana sabji was particularly good. The art on the walls and the tvs playing food shows as well as the people-watching along Magazine St make it particularly comfortable when I'm alone. The meal was great, served by Sherwyn, who was very kind and suggested to try more varieties of entrees next time we return. The entree portions pass for a share-style meal if you try a variety of appetizers. Eating for lunch in the weekday here made for a quiet, intimate experience, which I really appreciate! I will definitely return with suggestions in mind, but I would repeatedly get the garlic naan as it was very crunchy and fresh, and their rugda pati, as it was slightly spicy, the potato cakes were delicious, and the fresh onions and tomatoes on top were the best part!!
