I picked it as our lunch stop since the menu seemed veggie-friendly. The menu had a plethora of delicious bowls, but I decided to go for the Morning Bowl which had quinoa, pastured egg, avocado, black bean, corn, cherry tomato, cotija cheese, pumpkin seed, and avocado chipotle sauce. It was indeed a delicious, filling, and nutritious bowl! I was glad to see NOLA has some veggie-friendly options since my previous times in the city were disappointing in the food department (was taken to places solely focused on seafood and not inclusive from a dietary standpoint...). They hold a lot of heat so be careful with that first bite, they kinda have a required taste. Almost like a , mushy oatmeal pancake thingy with a crispy outside. I didn't love them at first, but I've grown to really like them and sometimes it depends on who's cooking how much I'm gonna like them that day. And don't get nothing else with these pancakes. They are so filling it's like I ate two bowls of oatmeal. I ordered my food in advance on the website while walking the dog. I loved that they send a text after I order to keep up with the status and my receipt. I arrived for pickup and they let me bring Louie the giant pup inside to grab my food and they even offered him some water because he was soooo hot poor thing. The service is always bright and positive. I ordered the skinny green smoothie with a matcha add-on and a southwest bowl. It was very yummy and fresh. The bowl is actually huge and I loved that I had so left over for lunch. I felt super healthy after such a nutritious breakfast! We got to go breakfast for a recent meeting doe I can attest to the service but I can highly recommend the food! I sampled the banana oatmeal pancakes which had tons of freshly sliced bananas and strawberries, toasted walnuts, and a strawberry cashew crema as well as a well packed side of maple syrup even the next day these were 10/10 and I'm not sure if they were even better cold. They had wonderful texture and taste and being vegan what more can you want. I also had the breakfast burrito with scrambled egg, queso fresco, black beans , avocados and pico with a chimichurri sauce with a side salad so delicious! Sadly, she made it obvious she just wanted to take an order and not be bothered by my question. My wife wasn't that thirsty; she just wanted a sip of something so I did the only logical thing.... I ordered (2) smoothies for myself and the wife can steal a couple sips. SMOOTHIES No.1: BLUE DREAM (Blueberry, Pineapple, Mango, Banana, Raw Agave) This was delicious... absolutely delicious SMOOTHIE No.2: SKINNY GREEN (Kale, Spinach, Pineapple, Mango, Banana) Even though I loved the Blue Dream, I really enjoyed the Skinny Green quite a bit. Something about that grittiness from the Kale that I like (it's a texture thing). Last year, I came to New Orleans immediately after eating my way through Tijuana and the Lafayette, LA metropolitan area. So, I was ecstatic when I found The Daily Beet within walking distance of where I was staying with a thoughtful, vegetable forward menu that looked extremely appetizing. I always pass by here when I'm on this stretch of Magazine and every time I peek in the window and say, "It's so cute, I wonder if the food is good? People seem to be enjoying it." I can now confirm that is indeed super cute on the inside and the food is indeed quite delicious. Upon entry I was greeted by soft R&B, lots of natural light, and earthy pastels--sold. I was greeted warmly by the staff and the service was swift and efficient. Before arriving I knew that it was vegetarian and vegan friendly, but I thought they might have more protein options available as add-ins. I had my eye on the Mexicali Blues salad which had black beans, corn, tomato, red onion, tortilla chips, cotija, and jalapeño-lime vinaigrette and I was looking for a protein to add. They only options are egg, avocado, smoked salmon, kimchi and tofu. The salad already came with avocado, so none of those options were really working with the flavor profile. A little grilled shrimp would have set it off! Nonetheless, it was really yummy! All of the ingredients looked and tasted incredibly fresh, there was a perfect amount of dressing, and the portion was just right. I would have liked some more tortilla chips, because I really enjoy a crunchy salad, but that's just my preference. Their smoothies and juices looked really good, too! I'll definitely be stopping in again to try one the next time I'm in the area. I know it'll be the perfect companion to walk Magazine with on a hot day. read more
