My experience here was a 10/10! I dined here as a guest for an event and we sat upstairs in the event space. The decor of the restaurant is gorgeous. It's sexy, subtle, yet bold at the same time. Walking up to the event space was an experience in itself. The burgundy wallpaper with chocolate undertones complemented the natural hardwood floors beautifully. Each step was illuminated by an LED strip, which added to the dark and sexy ambiance. The upstairs space had the same burgundy wallpaper and long, suede, burgundy drapes decorating the windows. Even the curtain rods were burgundy. I was truly obsessed with the vibes! They do have restrooms upstairs so you do not have to go downstairs. The food was absolutely amazing. I think this may have been one of my favorite places to eat in New Orleans. I do not think I've had many experiences with Indian cuisine, and Saffron has set the bar extremely high. Every dish was a straight 10. I attached the menu so you can read for yourself everything I tried. The only thing I did not try was the mango kulfi. Everything else was full of flavor, distinct in taste, and made a happy home in my stomach. If I had to choose a favorite, it was the Bombay shrimp and the corn korma. But I'm telling you, everything was seriously good so to even say that is just based on palette rather than differences in food quality. This is a place I will take people I am trying to impress.

The Salmon Pani Puri. I have NEVER tasted anything like that in my LIFE. The salmon is such a different flavor than any raw salmon in sushi I've had. It's got a fatty, almost creamy flavor, paired with the soupy, acidic, spiced sauce it's such a gorgeous bite. The semolina cracker cup is the perfect thin crisp and didn't fall apart. GORGEOUS! I would drive to NOLA just to have this bite again. The Potato Nest Chaat was delicious. I did think the table-side presentation on that was unnecessary, they just drizzled that mint chutney and tamarind sauce over top. I'm not suggesting to light it on fire, but... something more worth of presentation. Nonetheless, delicious. tangy and creamy yogurt, fried potato crispies, fresh mint. The garlic naan we got to go with was perfect. The tandoori squash didn't even taste like squash to me. The smokiness of the tamarind and all the accoutrements was amazing. It almost tasted like sweet potato. We sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with the people around us and our waiter! He explained everything so well and recommended the squash as his favorite thing. I had a chilled glass of chenin blanc to celebrate Friday. Cheers to NOLA and another great restaurant!

Ordered pick up for the 32oz curry gumbo and rice while in Nola because I had been Raving about this gumbo since first having it. The to go seemed a bit watered down and didn't have the party/depth of flavors I remembered. Also was super expensive. About $50 for 32 oz plus rice

Saffron was awesome! It's been on my "want-to-try" list for a while now, and I finally made my way over--and wow, I was thoroughly impressed with the flavors of every small plate we had! What we ate: Salmon Pani Puri Chicken Lasooni Oyster Bed Roast (still dreaming about these ) Dessert: A toffee cake with ice cream What we drank: Monsoon on Magazine Fly Like a Ghee-Six Espresso AF Total: $140 for two people We went at 5:30 PM on a Friday, and there were only a few other tables, which made for a nice, quiet vibe--no overwhelming noise or packed crowds. Our waiter was super attentive, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations on both food and drinks! Now, those oysters--I cannot stop thinking about them. I will 100% be back, if not just for those. Everything we tried was fantastic, but if I had to pick one thing to skip, it'd be the dessert. The cake itself was on the dry side (even though the flavor was solid), but the ice cream? Excellent. Overall: Amazing experience. Definitely on the pricey side, but the food and flavors absolutely deliver. If you go, get the oysters! You won't regret it. I'll definitely recommend Saffron + be back!

We passed Saffron NOLA on our first trip to town and were sad to be unable to visit. I made a point of coming on my next trip to town, and I was not disappointed. The service and ambiance were incredible throughout the meal. The staff were knowledgeable and able to make recommendations for putting together a set of dishes, which was trickier since I was dining alone. The tandoori squash was one of the best and most memorable dishes I have had at any restaurant in at least the last year. It was seasoned spectacularly and the combination of flavors and textures was perfect. The naan paired perfectly to sop up the sauces. I also had the chicken lassooni, which was also quite nice. The chicken was cooked well and had a nice kick to it. My only regret is that I didn't get to try more things on the menu. Until next time...

I heard that the food is splendid here. As I eat Indian food all the time, I was not quite sure. But man was I proved wrong!! Each dish has a unique NOLA spin on it and surprsed us at every bite, wanting to go for more. For instance the Royal paneer with spinach..I'd assumed would be a regular Palak paneer but turned out to be a most aromatic rich shaahi gravy with succulent paneer and sauteed spinah. the tabdoori squash is also a must try!! Definitely check this restaurant if you want a nice upscale dining experience with sinfully good ambience and drinks

I finally made it to Saffron NOLA and it was worth the wait! I was in the area for a Yelp Elite event and decided to come by afterwards to try this highly rated and talked about restaurant. I was seated at the bar which was wonderful as I got to talk to the bartenders and learn some pretty cool tidbits. I ordered the Potato Nest Chaat and Garlic Naan which was the perfect amount of food for me! The Potato Nest Chaat came with an experience as the server put together the dish in front of me and described the textures coming from each of the elements. That was really cool and the dish itself was soooo satisfying! Garlic Naan is always great and this one did not disappoint. Drinks: Full bar Service: Wonderful, my water was kept full and my food came very quickly Parking: Street Parking Outdoor Seating: There are a couple of tables outside

Oysters. The best oysters I have ever had!!

Let me say, NOLA is one of my favorite cities for amazing food. The oysters in town are plentiful and delicious. But when I tell you that the charbroiled oysters are the very best I have ever had, I mean that says something. I still talk about these oysters and look longingly at the photos. They were out of shell on a very hot oyster plate that had a well for each oyster. They are tender, juicy and the most flavorful oysters and it is served with naan bread. I am pretty sure we got an onion pakora and an entree (both of which were delicious) but the highlight of the night was the oysters. We also had the chocolate cake for dessert which was also memorable. But those oysters were on point. The place is a bit small so make sure you make reservations. The servers were on top of everything. We wanted for nothing except maybe more oysters. Do you self a favor and get the oysters here.

Upscale, but not pretentious, Saffron NOLA is a beautiful restaurant that pays respect to Indian cuisine while sprinkling a NOLA twist throughout their menu. I've been here twice now, once as a pre-fixe work dinner and once on a date-both times did not disappoint. Between the two visits, I've tried a good amount of the menu and their food is truly delicious with every bite. Their drinks are also unique and pair well with the level of spice and seasoning throughout their dishes. In particular, the chicken biryani is a standout, and the table side chaat is a fun way to start your meal. Excellent, professional service. If you are looking for a very nice, but not pretentious restaurant in NOLA, where you know the food will be well balanced and absolutely delicious, I recommend Saffron. I will most definitely be going back.

I can confidently say that Saffron NOLA has some of the best food New Orleans has to offer. Located in the Garden District/ Uptown Oysters, you will find a great combination of Indian & Louisiana cuisine. I would best describe the vibe as sophisticated without feeling overly fancy. Our server was so kind and offered really great suggestions. The oyster bed roast was out of this world! And the chicken biryani was so flavorful! The drinks were also phenomenal! Chef Arvinder stoped by and wished me a happy birthday, which I thought was really lovely. I cannot wait to come back for another visit.

Saffron's been long on my bucket list and I'm so glad that I finally got the chance to try it! I went with my co-workers and they were super understanding with people running late since we work in healthcare. I was so impressed by their take on Indian food - the dishes felt like an elevated version of food that I grew up with and they had their own take which displayed their own culinary expertise. We had the potato chat, one of their new seasonal fish dishes, - the Amritsari Fish Chennai, the chicken briyani with the raita , and the eggplant. The vibes of restaurant was also great and service was wonderful!

Incredible dinner! Had a dinner by myself for the first time in a while. Sat at the bar as there was space. (If you want a table, get a resy!) Paul was an amazing bartender. Lots of TLC for the drinks he made and the recommendations on the menu. The cocktail Blue Steel was out of this world. The flavors that hit through the entirety of a sip was truly mind blowing. Indian flair for sure which makes these cocktails so unique. Truly a must. Lamb Chops & Oysters were mind blowing. The sauce on the lamb chops was just amazing - comforting and delicious. This was perfect for the winter weather. The oysters are also so comforting. Flavors were unique and the texture profile was incredible from the crunch to the pillow texture of the naan. You should NOT skip this. I also had the gumbo and the squash which were so so yummy. The gumbo was more on the creole side - very tasty but I wouldn't put it so high on the list. The squash was delightful - I would order this again as it was soft and bright with flavor. Saffron deserves its recognition across the board. CHEERS!

The food is delicious. It's modern Louisiana Indian fusion and it all works quite well. It's local Louisiana ingredients prepared in a modern Indian style. The location and setting is great. Service was really good and everything was delicious.

Dive bar vibe is the feels. String lights, old creaky floors, big bay window, lots of outdoor seats, plenty of bar for us all! Total NOLA vibe! Bartenders were cool. I got a bit inebriated twice here and ate here once. Love that I could just walk back to my swanky hotel. Solid choice, C! Check out Hotel Henrietta if you are nearby. I asked the guy behind the what he recommended. Instantly he said "the mussels". You don't have to say another word, bruh. I had the mussels for my meal, obviously. Wow. They were perfect. The sauce was amazing, not sure what the white shit was, don't partake in that mess. The mussels were expertly cooked and seemed really fresh. The hand cut fries were also really good. I loved this meal and this joint! If I were local, I'd be a regular for sure. Get your ass in here if you can. I would advise getting the mussels. 100% '26 - 95

The Vintage - New Orleans, LA…read more The Vintage on Magazine Street was our very first food stop in New Orleans, and it turned out to be a great way for my wife and me to start our trip. From the moment we walked in, I really liked the atmosphere. The place has a cool, relaxed New Orleans vibe with a little bit of an upscale café feel without being overly fancy. It's the kind of spot where you can come in, sit down, enjoy some good food and drinks, and just take your time. Of course, we couldn't come to New Orleans and not start things off with beignets! We decided to go with the Fancy Beignet Flight, which gave us a chance to try several different flavors. We got the raspberry, s'mores, and Chantilly. They came out looking almost too good to eat, covered in powdered sugar with all the different fillings and toppings. Almost... because we definitely ate them! They were warm, sweet, messy in the best possible way, and a fun introduction to our New Orleans food adventure. For my meal, I ordered the Italian Panini with the truffle Parmesan fries. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese, and flavor. Looking at that cross-section, they definitely weren't being stingy with the fillings! The bread was toasted nicely, and everything worked well together. The truffle fries were another highlight. They had plenty of seasoning and Parmesan and paired perfectly with the sandwich. I also grabbed a small iced mocha, which went really well with the food and especially the beignets. One thing I really enjoyed about The Vintage was the atmosphere. The interior has a lot of character, from the marble tables and vintage-style flooring to the bar and pastry display. It feels like a place that belongs on Magazine Street. It was comfortable enough that we didn't feel rushed and could just enjoy being in New Orleans together. The service was good during our visit, and everything came together for a really enjoyable first meal in the city. Our bill came to around $48 after tax and tip for the two of us, and considering we had a sandwich, upgraded fries, drinks, and the beignet flight, I thought it was a good experience for the money. Most importantly, this place gave my wife and me a great start to our New Orleans trip. When your first stop includes a loaded Italian panini, truffle Parmesan fries, iced coffee, and a whole flight of beignets, you know the trip is starting off right! Definitely a place I would visit again. Great food, great atmosphere, and a great first taste of New Orleans. 5 stars from us!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home. Jimmy if you are reading this, THANK YOU!! If you want a spot that feels authentic, welcoming, and consistently excellent, put The Vintage at the top of your list!
