The food here is just amazing! This is the best Indian food in New Orleans hands down!

This is one of the best Indian places around! They've only been open since December 1st of 2022, but we think they have the best buffet in the New Orleans area! For about $20, you get to eat their daily lunch buffet, which was fantastic both times that we've been here! You definitely get the most bang for your buck here. The buffet menu differs each day, but they have items such as: *Dosa *Pokoras *Chicken or goat curry *Tandoori chicken *Butter chicken *Chicken kabob *Saag paneer *Lamb curry *Fried fish *Biryani *Daal *Shahi Paneer *Carrot or pinapple halwa *Jalebi *A whole selection of sauces, chutneys, and pickles and so much more that I cannot remember! Every item was well seasoned and delicious. All of the meats were so tender and juicy. Really cooked to perfection. The buffet is refilled constantly (because it's so popular here), and it looks clean too. The décor and set up of the tables is also nice - plenty of space.

Lunch buffet! Delicious! Chai was great too!

I tried the buffet. I've been reading about and it was all delicious. The curry was spicy. The hot chai tea was just what I wanted. I'll be back and I highly recommend part of me it to others!

I was pretty impressed by the food at Punjabi Dhaba! I went for the first time this past weekend with some of my friends to try their lunch buffet. The restaurant is out in Kenner, but the drive is worth it to get authentic Indian food at a reasonable price which can be pretty hard to find in New Orleans. Someone in our group had dietary restrictions//allergies and the owner came out to help explain each dish to ensure that they would be able to eat from the buffet. The buffet consisted of classical Indian dishes, but it also had specialty dishes such as Methi Matter which impressed me. They also make fresh dosas with sambar during the buffet period. Overall, it was excellent find in New Orleans for great Indian food!

Coming to post in the light of Mr. Negi's passing to highlight just how wonderful this place is- not only is the food authentic in a way that uses spices that made my parents reminisce about their childhood dishes growing up in India, but Mr. Negi and his team always made an effort to make every guest at the restaurant feel welcomed by personally greeting them and spending at least 2-3 minutes at each table. His hospitality combined with the fun decor made and continues to make this place more special than the average Indian restaurant in a way that stays true to its roots with the food and hospitality. For the food, tandoori chicken is never dry and has the perfect spice level. Same goes for the kabobs that are clearly all baked to perfection in their custom tandoor. Paneer dishes are always on point and a favorite is the appetizer. Buffet quality is always on par with dinner service. And definitely definitely recommend the rasmalai trifle with a side of masal chai to end the meal. One of the most unique and perfectly executed desserts I've ever had an Indian restaurant. Highly highly recommend this place for the amazing food that's made with a lot of love from a talented team. I also catered a 75-person event with them and the food was personally delivered in warmers and was a hit at the party. Portions were more than generous and pricing was very competitive. Thank you for bringing your joy to our little town Mr. Negi, you will be missed.

I was told repeatedly that it was kabsa(a rice dish). What I received was not kabsa at all -- it was a flatbread/pastry (like mutabbak), not a rice dish. When I called, the owner said they don't even make kabsa and pointed to the receipt saying it was written as mutabbak. He was rude and refused a refund. That doesn't change the fact that I was told on the phone by some woman that they had kabsa. This wasn't a mix-up about taste -- I was told one thing and given something completely different, and they doubled down instead of fixing it.

He even bought a second order of chicken biryani to go for his travels. My go to order is the goat biryani but honestly EVERYTHING here is amazing. If you happen to be able to catch when they have a buffet- OMG GO! The staff are all extremely kind as well! I typically order my food to go but I've eaten in twice. The space is modest and clean. Nothing too fancy but the food will surely knock your socks off. OMG THE TEAAAA too! You have to order the tea!

As someone of Indian heritage who has eaten at Indian restaurants across the country and abroad, I do not offer five stars lightly. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka is the best I have ever had -- anywhere, full stop. The char is perfect, the marinade deeply fragrant, and the chicken impossibly tender. This dish alone is worth crossing the city for. The Chicken Biryani was layered and fragrant, with each component perfectly spiced yet cohesive. The Malai Gosht was rich and silky -- a quietly elegant dish that lingers on the palate. The Palak Paneer was vibrant and fresh, nothing like the heavy renditions found elsewhere. The Bullet Naan -- marketed as "eat at your own risk" -- delivered on its promise. Bold, building heat that commanded attention, but never reckless. Paired with a curry, it was outstanding. The Falooda dessert was a perfect finish: cooling, fragrant, and beautifully presented. The wine list was surprisingly decent for an Indian Restaurant. We enjoyed the Brunello! And the service -- led by Manager Aman -- was over the top in the best possible way. Warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in every guest's experience. The hospitality matched the kitchen's excellence at every turn. LuFu Nola is a must-visit. Easily the best Indian food in New Orleans.
