I walked in after seeing sign: gel mani/pedi/eyebrow for $58. Luckily someone cancelled appt so they were able to service me. It was a bit rushed, which I understood, and I had two different techs doing my mani & pedi at the same time. My gel manicure started chipping after a couple of days. I had to remove the whole set. However, my pedicure lasted longer than a week. I recommend Paula (there are 2, she is the Colombian one with dark hair). If I ever go back, I would make an appt with her first. I also did eyebrow threading. It was ok. A bit thin with some stray hairs left behind but I take the blame because I didn't tell her to keep them thick. Overall, I wouldn't recommend except with Paula. Everything else was regrettable. Acrylic- 35 Coffin cut 5 Gel - 10 Paula did such an amazing job, I showed her a Pinterest photo of how I wanted my nails done and she tried her best and she delivered! I've been a customer of Nita's for over 15 years. When I first met her she worked at a salon in Kearny. There was usually a line because everyone wanted her. I wanted to try to see why everyone only wanted her to do their eyebrow threading. Well, she did my eyebrows that first time and 15+ years later, she owns her own salona and I am still a customer. Their henna was watery. The lady could not make a mandala design. Said she doesn't know how to do henna on hands only on eyebrows. You can see the glob that ended up running down my hand and messing up the flower design she made. They do nails here as well for simple mani and pedi. read more

If you are living near by, this is the place for every need. Nita is amazing at eyebrow. You don't need to tell how you want your eyebrow. When she looks at you, she gets what your face needs. All I told her was I wanted a thick shape. She did her best. I was so happy with my eyebrows. She was so polite I didn't feel any pain. She asked whether I liked my eyebrow's shape. I am sure about if I didn't like it, she would fix it. But no need. I loved them. They were exactly how I wanted them to be. After getting my eyebrow done, Elba was there to do my hair. She works there only for saturdays. I showed her a picture of the hair design. She listened to me, checked the image, examined my hair and made her suggestions. It felt so special since she wasn't treating as if I was anyone. She was into her job, she cared what I cared for. This is the best feature that any hair dresser can have. After the hair, i got my manicure and pedicure. The lady was so polite and gentle with me. She was amazing. She made my nails just like I wanted. I was so happy with everything. I've been going to Nita's since before she opened her shop in Kearny and now I've followed her to her new shop in NA. I go to her for threading and pedis. Now w. Covid in the air I was hesitant to go but when I called to make my appointment she explained all the precautionary measures they have taken to ensure customer safety. At first I opted for waxing rather then the usual threading but when I got there she showed me that they are doing threading a new way. Rather than doing threading by putting the thread through the mouth she is putting the thread around her neck while she has her face mask on. Sounds crazy but it works and most importantly 14 days later and no Covid. Plexi glass is up at every station, temperature checks are done, everyone is wearing a mask and they are sanitizing all utensil. So do I recommend? Absolutely. Keep up the good work Nita. Really upset with how thin Nita made my eyebrows. She completely reshaped them and they're awful. She said I should have told her to keep them "thick" before starting, which is true but in the 15 years I've been getting my eyebrows done NO ONE has ever made them this pencil thin. My eyebrows naturally are already thin to begin with so taking half of them away seems like the last thing anyone would do. Literally they're now half the width they were before I walked in. Moral of the story - make sure you explicitly state you don't want pencil thin eyebrows. I feel like I'm in 8th grade again. Ugh. read more

Today I had to walk out. Obviously owner and staff do not understand the concept of having an appointment. Yesterday, I went in person to make an appointment for today Wednesday. I walked in and another woman was behind the counter and I asked "where is everybody?" She said they're all in back. Now if you've been there before you know that's a squeeze. I asked "where is Nita?" Was told she was not in but she can help. I said I would like appointment for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 11, with Erika. She said only Paola and Lucy is here and Paola has appointment at 4 already. I said, "ok then Lucy will be fine. I want mani/pedi/threading n tinting." She said no problem. This woman is the other threading lady I've seen before. Today, I get a call from Nita confirming my appointment and asking if I was the same person she knows and I said, "yes." I get there 10 mins before my appointment and Lucy is at her station and Nita is there as well. I kiss Nita hello as I do all the time and I commend Lucy on her "weight loss". Then Lucy, not Nita the owner, proceeds to tell me that this new girl will be taking care of me as Paola had emergency and that Lucy needs to take Paola's customer as she is out today. This is not the first or second time that they have bounced me around from nail technician to whomever is there working. Then both Lucy and Nita begin to throw at me how talented this person is and Lucy says, "oh she has more experience than me - she's really good." My appointment is with Lucy not someone I don't know or ever seen. I hesitantly sit in her chair and this young girl who is way younger than Lucy, however supposedly, "more experienced than Lucy" is looking at me like deer in headlights and I ask her, mind you I'm already here Paola's customer isn't. My appointment is with Lucy not this stranger. I proceed to ask her a few questions and also asked her if she speaks English. Don't get it twisted, I ask only to see how we're going to communicate as I'm Spanish too. Then Lucy precedes in a nasty tone to tell me, you know, you don't have to talk to her like that - and I said "does she speak English cause if she does she can answer me directly and you can stay out of it." Lucy says, "yes she does" and I responded, "then let her speak for herself" Lucy decided to go on and I said thank you and wAlked out. The owner Nita sat there and let her employee speak to her customer, me, in that tone? Some folks lose a few pounds and all of a sudden it goes to their head and forget their place. I called back to speak with Nita the owner to ask her why did she let her employee speak to me like that - and guess who kept handing up on me? Yup LUCY! So I then waited 2 mins to pass blocked my number and had my Indian friend ask to speak with Nita. Lucy answers immediately and puts Nita on phone. I explained to her how disappointing it was to have her employee speak to a customer in that manner and that if I was going to be taken care of by other technician why wasn't I asked when she called to confirm my appointment? The bottom line to all this - Lucy only takes appointments that would make more money and my needs are not of fake nails or extension or gel manicure - im plain manicure/pedicure. It is very disappointing that Nita allows this to go on in her shop - I told Nita that this is not the first time that this has happened to me with Lucy and that I would put this in her review. I personally don't request for Lucy but I should not be thrown to a newbee and then be subjected to be spoken to in a disrespectful manner by her or the anyone. Look up the meaning of appointment-confirmation, maybe that will help her know for next time!I read more

I wouldn't recommend this place if you plan on getting SNS done. Paula is great with gel polish. However, I got SNS done by Jessica and she did a poor job and attempted to use UV light which defeats the purpose of SNS aka Signature Nail System. The process involves a dipping system that is natural and healthy to your real nails. SNS dipping powder has no odor, no liquid, no primer and no UV light. Perhaps they're not educated on this new technique. The owner tried to convince me that the UV light is necessary. She's wrong, it actually defeats the purpose of SNS might as well get a Gel Mani. I thought it would be my perfect place for nails, hair & eyebrows but I think not!! Very dissapointed in the way my nails were done. Had to return twice in the 1st week because the paint peeled off! Then went back after the top clear coat literally started to peel up & was told it was because my nails may be oily!?? I tried this place because it looked so nice but Nita really dissapointed me.
