The "2" stars were for the designs they offer. They have a wide variety of colors and lots of pretty designs. However, the idea of CASH ONLY at a time where the business has modified everything else for a pandemic (Shields, Mask, Sanitizer) you shouldn't force your customers to use an ATM Machine and Touch Cash!!! No Big Signs of CASH ONLY posted and no mention of it until you go to pay After the Service. Very HUGE disappointment on my birthday!!! Also, I came in with my mom and daughter and they took three to four people before my mom and left her waiting for over an hour. Eventually she got Nothing Done and we left. You guys offer something beautiful, don't let the lack of Consideration for your Customers be your downfall!!! Just saying!!!!! read more

I waited for a long time and then when I worked with someone they used dirty utensils and my nails didn't look good and I had a fungus for months and had to get an antibiotic to clear! read more

I've been here a few times pre and post pandemic. When it comes to getting acrylic nails, I usually have no problems with that, I typically like how it comes out. I took off 2 stars because for one parking can be a hassle since it's on a busy street in bloomfield with several businesses. You usually have to pay the meter. The 2nd reason is that it's cash only which can be annoying. They have an atm inside that has a $1 charge but my bank charges for using a non bank atm so it's really inconvenient for me. It's also gets crowded very quickly so I usually try to get there early. read more

I love coming here. I am a regular customer. The owner is great & all but Rosa is my nail artist, she is amazing!!! I always leave her a huge tip because of the treatment I receive. If you are planning on coming here make sure you arrive early, normally this place is packed. They do not do appointments. But now due to COVID-19 you must sign your name upon arrival & wait outside the shop until she owner calls your cell to tell you when its your turn. If you do not answer the phone, they skip your turn and move on to the next. This place does not accept cards but they do offer an ATM. read more

This is my second visit at the salon and I'm Sooooo glad I tried it out !!!! This is my new spot , they're clean, the salon is nice and updated, and they have bomb designs! It's not a sloppy rushed process ! I recommend! Only con is there don't take cards, but they have an atm and the fee is only $1 read more

The owner is extremely rude! Every time I get my nails done I spend atleast $200. I stood outside before they opened because I knew I had a video shoot today. I asked her could I make an appointment prior to coming and she told me NO. I was the 4th person in line i waited my turn only to find out she put her appointments ahead of me. My husband and I have been faithful customers here but I will never come back again. I left to get my make up done so I would not be late for my video shoot and when I came back she refused ti service me! Beyond Rude and she needs to be reported! She only allows cash to avoid paying taxes. read more

how is it that I call to make an appointment, they tell me okay and they have me down for that time , even asked me for my name, and then I show up and I have to wait ? She tells me they don't do appointments here yet they have a sign saying "We will hold your spot for 15 minutes only. The next client will be served. Please don't be late." The service is great as well and everyone remembers you after your first visit. It gets pretty crowded, so making an appointment is a good idea. I've bee coming here for a very long time and when I come I spend at least $60 to $80 each visit every two weeks. Today I came for the first time in the morning thinking I was going to beat the rush. But the rush be me. But neither here or there, Cindy typically does my nails. However 2 weeks ago because cindy was very busy cindy had asked me whether not, I would be cool with Helen do my nails- because Cindy was very busy. So 2 weeks ago when cindy had asked me that, I told her I didn't mind, as long as she does a good job on my nails. Fast forward into today when I came at 9:38 in the morning it was very crowded. But that Was that is OK. I walked up to Cindy to ask her how many people she had waiting for her to do their nails. Which is what I always do all people typically do when they are custom to seeing the same person for business. Cindy's respond to me was I have one person waiting but I'm not too sure check with Helen. I asked telling how many people she has Helen said to check with the owner jo-Ann. I spoke with John Wayne and she said she doesn't know because it's a lot of people waiting but I could just wait and I'll be taken care of. 15 to 20 minutes later I seen a man walking now this is the same man that got his nails done 2 weeks ago on the same day that I came here. This dude that typically only gets a manicure walks up to Cindy and asked her how many people does she have. Send a reply as I have one more person before you you can have a seat and I'll take care of you. 1050 minutes later I'm not a female walks in and look for Cindy ask her how many people you have waiting. Send details the girl I have 2 people ahead of you but you don't have to wait here is busy you can leave and come back and 1 to 2 hours but make sure you call Jo-Ann, before you call. So I had a conversation with Cindy about that. Answer but there are not she wants to do my nails because you always does my nails when I come there. She said that she's busy. I reminded her that to people came after I did and she gave them a number to be seen by her. She tells me that she only wants me to see Helen. So at this point I'm f****** pissed. I'm always spend in at least 150 or more per month when I come here to get my nails my tolls my eyebrows and everything else done. Joanns going to say oh don't worry about it you going to be seen by Helen. And instead of at getting into a discussion disagreements or disco it with them I walked out the f****** store. If you rather do a dude nails who's only going to spend between 10 and $15 just getting a f****** Medicare and you don't want to take my money when I'm going to be spending at minimum $60 and f*** you you will see me again. DONE. Cindy can kiss all parts of my ass!! If my money is not good enough for you to service me then you're not worth the time or my money read more

So I decided to give this place a try. I went on a Thursday afternoon after work got there around 6 pm. It was packed to say the least and I was able to get my pedicure done first, plus soak off my acrylic nails for a fresh set. I appreciate the fact that each pedicure chair foot spa had individual sink covers for each client. Which was changed after each client. Also the tools that they used were a brand new disposable set for each client. Great way to minimize the transfer of and possibility of foot infections. The lady that did my feet was cool however she did cut my big toe cuticle. Not sure why you have to cut the cuticle so far down but that was very uncomfortable. Time for my nails. I was given to a guy who did his due diligence to remove the old acrylic from my nails with as little pain as possible. He took his time I must say and I did tell him exactly how I liked my nails - short, thin and square. Let's just say I got the short and square is part but it was not as thin as I would have like it. After about two point five hours in there I walked out with a painful big toe, chunky nails and product under my nails that I couldn't get out :-/ I was annoyed. read more

Came here on a whim. I was traveling at the last minute and wanted a gel polish manicure before my trip. I waited about 30 mins and they let my old gel soak off while I waited. Had my nails done by a woman named Blanca, she did an excellent job w/the gel manicure. I'm writing this review 10 days later and my manicure still looks good. Of course my nails have grown, but other than that, they look good. I'm going back for a new color in a few days, hopefully they are consistent. The shop is clean, well lit and they sterilize their tools from what I can tell. They don't take credit/debit cards, so bring cash. They do have an ATM machine in the back though, of course for a fee. read more

Visited Krystal Nail Salon today because I could not get into my regular salon. The salon experience was okay, got there around 4:30pm and was taken right away. My nail experience was okay, even though something felt a little off (as other post have mentioned). I remember this salon from back in the late 90s/early 2000, and the look and decor was totally different. You cannot walk directly into the salon, you have to be buzzed into the establishment. In addition, while getting my nails done a police officer and detective came into the salon and spoke with one of the technicians (very strange and off putting). Also, so very glad that I had cash, even though I did not know they were a cash only business (which tells me alot). My nails came out okay, wanted something sheer (white sheer), and got a light pink, it's nice and a glitter for another finger. Will I return possibly. read more

I can't seem to have any luck finding a good nail salon in NJ. I gave this one a try 3 times, had a different nail tech each time. The first time I got a full set, my nails looked good from a distance but the finished product was not good. I went a month later to get another full set (I went back because of proximity to my home) by a different tech, her name was Nina and she actually did a great job (especially compared to the rest). The finish was clean and neat (the picture with one blue nail) I returned for a fill, 2 weeks later only to discover that Nina had left the salon permanently. The one time I am satisfied with a nail tech. UGH! So I decided to let a different tech do my nails the third time. The amount of time he took to do my nails you would've thought he would been the best of the best, WRONG. Not even a week after he did my nails, they looked crusty (picture with one yellow nail). I also got pedicures each time, and even the woman who did my feet did a poor job and I'm not very peculiar with my pedicures. I gave a 2 stars because Nina, who no longer works there, did a good job that one time. read more

Visit my Sister this weekend from Massachusetts, wanted my nails done. Looked up nail places near her, found Krystal Nail Salon w/great reviews. They did not disappoint. I had Joann, she was AWESOME, she friendly, educated me what is best for my weak nails, how I can let my nails breathe to regain strength. She took her time, as well as other techs...If I have to come to NJ once a month to get my nails done, so be it! Nail techs in MA do not know how to do nails, I have been to a few. Wish I could move Joann and her staff to show Massachusetts how to do nails. Love...love.. love their work. read more

I couldn't find a page on yelp for the mine in Maplewood but I started going there the last two times i needed a fill in and they do very great nails. The lady i went to when I first went there she took her time and did them very well. the second time the owner did them and he also was very good yet fast. It is a bit pricey but that's most nail salons now and days. I paid about $25-$30 for a fill which required change of shape in my nail and also getting gel color so the price was very reasonable. if you want your feet done without gel it is $18. Went and had a full set of acrylic put on. Absolutely love them. Perfect shape, thickness and length. My Nail Tech was very meticulous and she did a wonderful job, I really wish I would have gotten her name. My third time here and haven't been disappointed yet. They were not good. For a "exclusive" place you have to be buzzed in to, they didn't live up to the hype. As a first time customer they sent me to the nail tech in the back when everyone in the front wasn't doing shit when I got in. Her name was Rosa. She was rude, barely could paint nails and was nosy. Everyone else seemed to take customers they knew already. The only good thing was the pedicures seemed good but other then that I will not be returning. read more

When I got there it was very crowded. But they were honest about the wait time, that it would be awhile. Most places tell u not a long wait. I decided to wait a little over an hour. I got a regular manicure and pedicure. I was very pleased with the service. The lady in the front Joanne thanked me for being patient while I waited. I will return again. Took 3.5 hours for a fill in by a terrible technician. The owner then had the nerve to blame me for "going" to him even tho she told me to sit at his chair. I WILL NEVER RETURN EVER. Terrible customer service and just a dingy spot overall. STAY AWAY. read more

I moved to the area about 5 months ago and I have tried several different nail salons that did not do the best job. I tried Krystal Nails today, and I have definitely found my new home salon. Joanne is AMAZING. She was super nice and personable, and she checked in with me throughout the process to make sure that I was pleased with everything, and that things looked the way that I wanted them to. Result: Severe skin damage requiring immediate medical attention, resulting in prolonged physical and professional inconvenience. During the service, I experienced clear indications of improper technique and negligent care: Excessive Heat: The applied beeswax felt excessively hot, indicating an improper temperature setting. Aggressive Removal: The removal of the wax sheet by the esthetician was noticeably aggressive and forceful. Immediate Pain & Acknowledgment: Immediately after the wax removal, I informed the esthetician, Treasure, that the areas above and between my eyebrows were extremely painful. Negligent Aftercare: I questioned whether a proper post-wax cleanser (such as rubbing alcohol) had been used. Treasure confirmed that "No" such cleanser was applied. I was only advised to use a generic ointment and Vitamin E oil. Upon returning home, the painful area above and between my eyebrows became severely red and inflamed. I subsequently confirmed that the skin in these blotches-on both sides above the brow and between the brows-had been physically lifted and removed (skin abrasion/burn). Current State of Injury: The damaged area has progressed from red to pink and is now a noticeable brown/hyperpigmented color. Permanent Damage: The injury to the skin, particularly above the left eyebrow, remains visible even after two professional consultations, indicating permanent damage and a high risk of long-term scarring. Personal and Professional Impact: I have been forced to stay indoors and rigorously avoid all sun exposure to prevent further hyperpigmentation. This has caused significant personal and professional inconvenience, including the cancellation of scheduled appointments. Initial In-Person Follow-Up: I returned to the salon to show the extent of the damage. I spoke with an employee named Emily, who confirmed the owner / manager was unavailable. I did not notice the renewal right away since the first charge was in December and I had a service on December 22, planning for that to be my last wax after 20+ years as a loyal EWC customer. That charge appeared on my January statement (which I received in late January); I assumed it was for the December service. I noticed the 2nd charge on my February statement, which I didn't review right away. Everyone in my household had covid and a lot of everyday tasks slipped for a while. I called at the end of March to say "Hi, can we please take care of this" and the answer I finally got today from the location manager was, Nope, since I didn't call within 30 days of the first charge. I didn't even know about the first charge within 30 days! So, I guess this is on me - $600 worth of waxing which I will never use - for not being zealous about checking my credit card statement.

My wallet was at least 6 inches long and 2 inches wide and had it dropped I would've definitely heard it. The girl who serviced me had no reaction which to me was very telling. What kind of place has a 1 week or 1 month expiration date? (Thinking about it I'm wondering if it the date a typo since it was handwritten because most places around here have a 1 year expiration date when I buy them or am gifted them.)
