Cash visit 75 bucks. Had an appointment for 250 and was seen by the doctor at 325, asked a few questions by the nurse or assistant and then dr b comes in. Asks me a few questions and scrapes my skin for a sample in about 3 mins. I tell her she caused my skin to bleed and she doesn't even acknowledge she over scraped it or apologize. She just tells the nurse to put a bandaid on it. Ask her to fill out a Veterans Affair evaluation questionaire for my condition and tells me she has no time for that. Seriously, your charging me 75 bucks just to talk to you and u have no time to fill out an evaluation form that maybe takes 5 mins. She tells me her staff will do it but they tell me they can't. I would highly not recommend this place unless you have no where else to go and want to be treated poorly. She recommends a follow up appointment and they want to charge 50 bucks for her to say ur skin has improved. The visit with Dr. Brotman today confirmed what I already know Black Women get abused and ignored in the doctors office. Jealous or intimidated Dr. B. She refused to identify classic textbook visible symptoms I have been suffering for over a year with oral meds. I been suffering from itching burning dry skin, and hair loss for years. The fix is simple but she is willing to promote and sell us all those products and meds from vendors$$$ for illusions but some of us just need and want the basic. If you like a doctor who gets to the point, and gives the attention, then I would suggest Dr. Brotman. What's great is she has two locations: 1) 854 Magnolia Ave, Ste 202, Corona, Ca 92879 2) 15944 Los Serranos Country Club, Ste 180, Chino Hills, Ca 91709 I have been to both locations and have never waited over 30 minutes to be seen, which I think is a typical wait time at any doctors office. I felt that Dr. Brotman addressed my issue without beating around the bush. She got straight to the point with me, and when I was indecisive about whether to get a certain procedure or not, she did not hesitate to give me her recommendation. The surgery I had was quick and easy, and only required some small stitches. When I followed up a few days later because I thought I had an infection, the office promptly requested I come in. Well lets see. I was referred to Dr. Brotman by my primary doctor. I arrived last Thursday morning a bit late only because the address I got on Yelp was an old address, not the current one on 854 Magnolia. When I arrived the waiting room was empty, good sign or bad? I didn't have to wait perhaps 10 minutes before being directed into the examining room. So far so good. Dr. Brotman came in & looked at my condition & explained what she was prescribing and wrote doen how to use them. Great. I got a call from the pharmacy saying my 1 prescription was ready so I went down there & was told that the second was denied by the insurance. No surprise there when I asked how much would it cost if I paid out of pocket- $281.36 plus tax! So I called the insurance company & they gave me a number for the Dr. to call & get a "non-formulary exemption" which I called & gave the Dr's office the information. That was Monday. Tuesday afternoon I called the pharmacy again & no change. Called the Dr's office & told them that the insurance co was waiting for her call for the exemption. Called again thursday to the same parties to see if they called & still nothing. Called all involved again today (Friday) & still it seems nobody has done squat from this Dr's office. Of course today they closed at noon! Must be nice!!!!! So now I called my primary Dr. to get another referral to another Dr. & who knows how long this will take. In the meantime this crud will continue to seem like it's healing then break open again, bleeding and I'll try to do whatever I can myself, and continue to wait................ read more

I was hesitant to go to Dr. Brotman because of the reviews regarding the wait time. I waited 20 minutes, which I didn't think was too bad. The assistant then took me into the exam room and spent quite a bit of time going over my history. When she was done the doctor came in. I went here once. I explained I was losing hair had bald spots. I also gave information to this doctor about prior auto immune disease I had. She told me she did not see a issue an I was aging an use a certain shampoo for hair loss. My head was itching all of the time. Well after I left her office things just got worse for me. Turns out she misdiagnosed me. I have lupus scalp and alopecia. This could have been stopped earlier. Lupus is an auto immune disease. They say if you have 1 you are more likely to get a second one. I was referred to Dr. Brotman by my PCP. I was in contact with poison oak and spread to my entire body very quickly. My appointment was on a Thursday and was prescribed a steroid as well as an ointment. Once arrived to my pharmacy I was told the ointment was not covered by my insurance. I have been in contact with Dr. Brotman's office for the past week and yet they are unable to get my prescription changed. I spoke to a lady by the name of Cecilia. Instead of helping me out she was more argumentative with an attitude. She claimed she placed the prescription on the doctors desk assuring me it would be changed by the end of the day. Nothing. Next day, again, I call and the front desk seemed irritated and claim they have not received any requests from the pharmacy, i need to just wait. After 6 times calling, I was told the doctor changed my medication and will be sent to the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy about 2 hours after speaking to Cecilia, Marisela, Valerie at Dr. Brotman's officer the pharmacy claimed they never received a request. I called Dr. Brotman's office and they are now closed at 4:30. This has already been a an entire week and they claim I have to be patient! It is really frustrating and upsetting... I am miserable with an itchy body and infected scabs. How much longer should I wait? I even finished the pack of steroids and the infection did not heal. The front desk is rude and unprofessional the girls think this is a joke and do not take patient requests seriously, I had a scheduled follow up.. I canceled and will look for another dermatologist that will take pride in patients. Not to mention they are never on schedule. What good is an appointment. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Brotman for about 7 years: p.s. the address is 854 magnolia. Yes there is a wait but! - She's worth it ! The same attentiveness the patients are getting while you're sitting out in the waiting room well guess what? You will get that very same attention. I'd rather sit and wait a little bit to see a DOCTOR (not physician assistant - like some other Derm offices). Dr. B has fixed anything and everything I've ever had a problem with my skin and nails. Also I have NEVER had anything removed without signing a CONSENT first. And in that CONSENT it does mention a risk of scarring ! Duh you're causing trauma to the skin of course you risk a scar people ! Give the office a break. The girls are very professional and always smile. I went to see Dr. Patricia Brotman for a Rosacea flare up and unlike the previous patients' posting, I am very happy with the outcome of my visit. The waiting room was full, but I was seen on time. The staff were all very professional and the general office vibe was upbeat. During my examination with Dr. Brotman - she answered all of my questions with very detailed information regarding treatment, medications and what to expect. I never felt rushed or like I was part of a herd of cattle being driven in and out of an exam room. But that is not the reason I am giving her a 5 star recommendation... The reason I am giving Dr. Brotman a 5 star recommendation is because I had to bring my 88 year old mother to my appointment and as we were walking out of the exam room Dr. Brotman noticed a blemish on her arm and took the time right then and there to biopsy it. It turned out to be skin cancer. I am so grateful that Dr. Brotman took the time she did with us because without her noticing that spot on my mother's arm - she would not have been diagnosed. I used to come to her regularly, pretty much once a month for my eczema, for a few years. In the beginning, maybe 5 years ago, things were good, (short wait times, more attention, very polite). But I stopped going to her about 2 years ago because things had gotten out of hand there. I would make an appointment, and then wait for 2 hours to be seen. I'm a college student, I can't afford to be missing class or taking away time from studying (yes I take it seriously). It was always loud in the waiting room, and packed. If I am waiting for two hours, I should just come check in, leave and they can call my cell phone when its my turn. Absolutely unprofessional! Dr. Brotman has no "bedside" manners, not that I need to have my hand held, but the fact that she was just extremely rude and inconsiderate during my last visit, I made sure to tell her that exactly. And she just looked at me, no apologies or anything. My sister went to her for a while too. This lady love to cut off anything she can, and has no regard towards the physical appearance of her patients after she cuts their moles/etc. off. HELLO? Maybe that was the original reason the patient went there, was to have something unsightly be removed (like acne). But she doesn't care if it leaves a scar, and most of the time, it does. She left about 3 scars on my sister, which are pretty visible to the public unless my sister wears a turtle neck sweater; it's about 110 degrees here, so I don't think that's going to happen. My sister has had those scars for YEARS now. I will NEVER give her business again. Also, for being a skin doctor, her skin doesn't look healthy either, just something I noticed. This is probably my 4th time coming without a choice going elsewhere because my insurance. I decided to write this review because I am frustrated at my time being wasted. My appointment was at 9:40, it is now 10:55 and still waiting. First time was the same, I waited 1 hour and 35 minutes. She questioned my daily habits and scolded me as if I were a child. Second time I still waited over an hour, and was following up on some cream she sold me on my prior visit. Honestly it seemed like vasonline in a little container for $6. I didn't see much improvement. She then wanted to do a biopsy. On my 4th visit she didn't explain ANYTHING to me and just started poking, probing etc and I just sat there with my eyes closed enduring the pain and had to ask questions after. I thought she was going to scrape some surface skin but that was not the case. I got shots to numb the area, and she actually gave me stitches. I did not know until I got home. She covered them in bandages and it was a hot day so sweating completely stung the area. Was awaiting the results but got no phone call or letter. I had to ask about it on my next visit. Once again, I was given different creams and to no avail. After the last visit, I've had enough of them wasting my time always waiting over an hour and being seen for only 5 minutes. Went back to my primary doctor to state I was very uncomfortable and dissatisfied going back so she will be sending me to another dermatologist. Proof is in the pudding, read all her reviews. Not sure how she stays in business. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE seeing her unless they want their time wasted. read more

I have never written a review but I felt I had to on this doctor. My husband needed to have some moles looked at so I went with him. We ended up waiting almost 2 hours. My husband was livid and told them we were leaving but of course they called us to the back right then...WE SHOULD HAVE LEFT! When we got in the room we waited for another 20 minutes - are you kidding me! When she finally came in he asked her about the moles and if he should be worried about any of them. She barely looked at them and just said that they should come off, then processed to tell the nurse to numb him in certain areas and left the room. Well we waited another 15 minutes and she returned and started cutting off every mole on him...even the ones that were not numbed (according to her "oh they are small...you can take it")! Now my husbands a big man that can take a lot of pain but holy crap did she just do that!!! She spent about 1 minutes snipping everything in sight then said "ok" the nurse will take care of you and left. The nurse slapped a few bandages on and said to double check the one spot she having trouble controlling the bleeding when we got home. If it doesn't stop just come back...now I know you have got to be kidding me!! He ended up with a big scar :( My husband said that if she would have cut off one more he would have decked her!!! Ok people yes there's a wait here but let me tell you why it's worth it. Dr. Brotman is very thorough and actually cares about your skin. I started going to her in 2014 and I was 28 years old. She found my melanoma and saved my life. She looks over every mole on your body with her derma-scope and makes sure she doesn't miss anything. I had to change my insurance and can no longer go to her and feel I am stuck with a PA who just told me to tell her what to take since I know my skin best. She didn't look over my skin like dr. Brotman does and I'm worried I'm going to get another melanoma and it be missed. So the wait is worth it because I feel safe with her. I'm trying to o back to her so I can relax again. read more

I am extremely busy and wouldn't normally make time to review businesses, but especially for that reason, I feel compelled to warn others who also have limited schedules so they don't waste their precious time at this office. I was initially impressed that I was able to make an appointment to be seen within two weeks until I walked into the waiting room to standing room only. I wasn't as concerned since I had an appointment until an hour and a half had passed, and I still hadn't been seen. I noticed that patients were being seen in the order they came in rather than by appointment. I confirmed this when I looked at the sign-in sheet, saw the arrival times and appointment times of those before me, and saw that those with later appointment times were being seen prior to me. Moving on...I really wouldn't even complain if the service had been worth the wait. Unfortunately, it was even more abysmal. Dr. Brotman had the attitude and bedside manner of Glee's cheer coach Sue Sylvester. She often cut me off in mid-speech, used jargon with little concern over whether or not I understood her explanations, completely disregarded (selectively chose not to answer) half of my questions, and literally walked out of the room while I was in the middle of asking the question, "What treatment do I need to take care of..." An important question to have answered, in my opinion. She ended our appointment so abruptly and inconclusively that I genuinely did not know our appointment had ended. It seemed as if she was rushing off to take an urgent call or quickly grab something to bring back for me...I was left hanging at the doorway until she sent an assistant in to schedule an appointment for a month later. I was confused, irritated, and at the same time, saw the humor in how incredibly ridiculous this doctor ran her practice. I had left work early (which for me is extremely difficult to manage) to make this appointment only to be treated like sub-human cattle. I felt extremely disrespected in regards to my time, intellect, and dignity. This doctor lacks professionalism and heart. This is NOT what I expect from a PPO provider. read more

When the nurses came in they started taking pictures of me with their i pads without even telling me what they were for, and to add insult to injury Dr. Brotman dedicated little to no time with me. On the positive sign one of the Retin A creams she prescribed has been working okay, but visiting her office made me so uncomfortable and took up so much of my time that I do not plan on going back. read more

Well, for length of time waiting for my scheduled appointment (it was an hour after my appointment time that I eventually went into the back with a nurse) I would give a 1-star rating, but for the professionalism with which I was (eventually) treated I would give a 5-star rating, so it averages out to 3-stars. Yes, the waiting room was small and crowded, and there was an annoying day time cable show on the TV (too loud) which no one was watching. I had gotten there 15 minutes early, completed the paperwork by the time of my appointment... and waited. An hour later a nurse took me back for the pre-appointment run through, blood pressure, and what was I there to see the doctor for today type questions. I then stripped off (as per instructions) and waited with a flimsy paper towel type wrap for a further 30 minutes. When Dr Brotman did enter her first words were "I'm sorry for the wait". When someone immediately apologizes it goes a long way to calm me. And then without breaking any confidentialities she briefly told me that there had been a number of difficult cases that afternoon. Anyway, I had her full attention to my concerns for about 40 minutes; she also did a full body scan to see if there were any areas I hadn't noticed. She offered to take off the two most serious looking moles then and there, and she did. I felt nothing so professional was her attention, and that of the nurse assisting her. So all-in-all, I suspect her staff book too many appointments for each day, but her treatment was excellent. I also am a professional with appointments scheduled all day but I do not over book, and end up, quite often with spare time between appointments, which I deal with by completing paperwork, and other mundane office tasks. read more
