We went to 4 dealerships in the past 2 weeks to look at used cars and wow this place takes the place FOR THE WORST experience. We had an agreed upon price before we departed for this dealership, and we were assured there were no other dealership fees. We made an appointment to see this one specific car, and warned them we were coming from 2 hours away with our 5 year old and 1 year old with congenital heart defect. We arrived, got assigned to a sales rep at 5pm. Asked to see the one and only car that we scheduled the appt for. They took 20 minutes just to find the key, and then they said they needed to bring the car over from another lot. I asked how far is the lot, and they said 10-15 mins, so I said ok, 30 minutes until the car arrives and he said no, more like 20. After 6pm I said we've been waiting over an hour to just see the car (and my 1 year old screaming for the past hour wearing his mask), and he said 10 more minutes. After 20 more minutes, I asked again, and he then called someone, and then informed me the car needed a battery replacement and that it would be 10 more minutes. After another 20 minutes of screaming children, I inquired again and the rep said another 10 minutes. I explained I know it's not his fault, but we have been told "10 minutes" 4 times and it's been over TWO HOURS just to see the car that we had an appointment to see. He was clearly annoyed with me and responded, "well here's the text that says they're on the way." Well, 2.5 hours later the car finally arrived and the bumper is literally hanging off, there are multiple warning signs flashing on the screen, there is a dent on the door, and scratches on the side panel. Not only that, they added a $695 "prep fee" even though they previously told us there were no additional dealership fees on top of what they provided previously. Total bait and switch at this dealership. We drove 2 hours for this deal, they forced us to wait 2.5 hours just to see this 1 car, and they absolutely failed to deliver on their end. At the end they offered to take the prep fee off (which is not a favor when they falsely told us this fee didn't exist), and tie on the bumper, but we would have to come back and make the drive again for a car with a dented door and scratches panel and bumper. Disappointing review after a frustrating experience with Maserati of Monmouth. To provide context, my significant other is a mechanic, and I have worked in long-haul transportation for over a decade. On March 13th, I contacted Stephanie at Maserati of Monmouth about a used vehicle and arranged to pick it up at 9 AM on March 14th. I live 2 hours away and wanted a quick process. However, when I arrived, I was informed the car was at their other dealership, Freehold Mitsubishi, due to poor communication between their team. After waiting over 3 hours, we were driven to Freehold to test drive the car, during which the check engine light came on. We diagnosed the issue ourselves in their service bay, and they assured us the car would be repaired and delivered promptly. Isaiah was our sales person. He's also the owner's son. Despite being told the repairs would be expedited, by March 18th, I learned they hadn't even ordered the necessary parts until that day--three full days after identifying the issue. After more delays and poor communication, the car was finally ready for pickup, but we arrived to find the tire light still on and the gas tank only half full--unacceptable for a purchased vehicle. We left after 8 PM, exhausted, after spending several days on this. This experience has been a huge waste of time, energy, and money. I will not recommend Maserati of Monmouth to anyone and will advise others to avoid this dealership due to their unprofessionalism and broken promises. read more

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. I purchased a car on 4.18.2025 from this company online from MN. I specifically asked for pictures of the vehicle and let him know that I wanted to be sure there were not any cosmetic issues prior to making the purchase. The sales manager sent me pictures that showed no cosmetic issues and assured me there were not any. The vehicle that I purchased was a 2020 VW Tiguan SEL, and that is how it was advertised on their website, as well as other sites they share their information with. After having to resign the paperwork 3 or 4 times due to errors on the sales managers end and also trying to sneak on GAP insurance, the car wasn't shipped until 4.25.25. I received the car on 4.27.25 at 9:30 at night and as the person delivering it was documenting the delivery, I noticed scratches all over the hood. I waiting until the next morning when it was light out to look at the car to validate what I was seeing the night before, and noticed there were several cosmetic defects. Scratches all over the car, rust spots, passenger front door was bent, moonroof was rusty and damaged. Then I noticed that the trim level was not what was advertised, which that alone impacts the pricing of a vehicle, not to mention all of the other issues. Once I got in the car to drive it, the check engine light was on and there were 0 miles left in the gas tank. The tires were bald and the brakes were grinding. Needless to say, I was very unhappy because this is a complete misrepresentation of their vehicle and is not what I spent 18k on, so I reached out to the sales manager to let him now I needed the car to be returned. There were fees associated with the purchase and he refused to give me a breakdown of the pricing. He tried to argue with me about the trim level not being his fault and that it was the car that I saw online. After some back and forth, he agreed to take the car back and said he would have someone on their way to get it, would cancel/payoff the loan and would give me my 5k down payment back. This sales manager is one of the most unresponsive people I have ever had to deal with. This is now a week and a half after the car was delivered, the car was picked up on the 2nd and when I tried to start it, the battery was dead (another issue), the loan still not is not paid off and I have spoken with the bank twice about it and they have no record of the sales manager contacting them for the payoff information, and I do not have my money back. I need this loan paid off so I can purchase a vehicle, as well as my money back, but Chris Khan refuses to give me proof of my refund and proof that the payment was sent to the bank. This company sold me a car under fraudulent pretenses and misrepresented the state of the vehicle. Every time I call I end up talking to the same woman who refuses to let me work with anyone else. This guy should not have a job in sales and this company should have to compensate me for the issues this has caused. I now have to rent a car until they decide when they want to take care of the loan and my money and that is not an ok way to do business. In fact, it is illegal. read more

Maserati of Monmouth has held my $1,000 deposit for over a month and are not returning it. . Near the beginning of Aug '24 I began talking to Jonas, the salesman, about buying several different cars. In the mix I put down $1,000. On 8/13/24 I decided not to buy the vehicle and asked for my money back. Jonas tells me it's no problem and I should have my money after a few days. By 8/26/24, after having sent many messages and being ghosted, someone finally replies stating that Jonas doesn't exist and I need to call the dealership directly. The same day I talk to Marin in the finance dept. who claimed he would talk to the finance dept the following day and have the check next-day-aired then send me a tracking number. He never replied with the tracking number. On 9/5/24 - I reach out again because I still don't have a check and a woman says the talked to Marin and he had talked to the finance dept. (again) the day before (9/4/24). On 9/10/24 - I reach out again to ask about getting a tracking number for this check and am told that the finance dept was already notified. On 9/11/24 - I told them I would start sharing my experience if they didn't want to supply a tracking number letting me know the check is coming. They never replied so here we are. I will be writing a letter to the Attorney General of NJ as wekk as posting more reviews and contacting other agencies. My car was transferred from freehold Mitsubishi to here for an easy repair of a headlight. Kept it for two days, said it was repaired, but there's still the large hole in it that we bright it there fit in the first place. Do not trust this place. read more

had the worst experience ever buying from Maserati of Monmouth. In short: It seems as though the sales staff will say whatever they need to get you to purchase then ghost you as soon as you require service. I purchased a BMW and had it shipped to Atlanta. The vehicle was at a great price and after buying it and now I know why. My only big requirement was to make sure the vehicle didn't smell like smoke and I was assured that the vehicle was a non-smoker. That was definitely a lie. I had a friend who lived nearby test drive the car prior to purchasing and holy moly they must've had a rave inside the car after he drove it or let him test an entirely different vehicle because the pictures below were how I received it (see the attached pictures). The front bumper was disconnected "during the transport." And after taking it to multiple auto professionals I was told it needed to be fully replaced. While they did agree to get the interior damage detailed (something they said they had already done) and the air filters replaced, they told me quote: "As for the damage during transport there is nothing that we can do about that here at the dealership. I can get the transportation company name and contact information but that would be something that would have to be settled between you and them." I have never spoken with the transportation company, I never hired them, I don't even know which one they used. When I called them out on how bogus that idea was, they told me that they would reach out to the transportation company and handle it on their end. Its been over a month since the car was delivered and its pulling teeth to get them to respond to anything. Save yourself the headache if you can afford to. Chris was a good communicator up until the car was delivered with all its defects. Marin was initially helpful but someone should check on him because he's either the busiest man in the world or he's missing. read more

Where do I begin!!! Terrible communication, unprofessional and loves to dodge customers calls. The females answering the phones will not answer my calls, instead they pick the phone up and forward my calls to somewhere else. I ordered a 20 Range Rover Evoque and completed the loan paperwork on 5/11/24. Waited and called the dealership about the vehicle not being delivered to me in Detroit, MI within that week. It took this dealership three weeks and lies to get it to me. Marco Racic and Marin Harwood refused to return my calls and answer my calls. I spoke to someone else there, Paul and he tried to fix the problem. I called today 5/24/24 to the dealership to speak with Eddie and of course no answer from him or a return call. Honestly, I'm really disappointed and I expected more from a dealership that sells cars that are worth six digits. Not to be rude, but to be frank- the finance manager doesn't know his ass from his elbow. I can't even fully blame the dealership for this negative experience, as I allowed it to happen. Red flag one- I showed up to my 2:45pm appointment for a fictitious sales rep "Ashley" who doesn't actually work there. The car I asked to reserve, the night before, was allegedly sold 12 hours later at my appointment- fine. I looked at others. After they didn't have the model, color or trim SUV I was originally looking for, I opted for a sedan- the Giulia. Nearly 6 hours after arriving and waiting around (they're short staffed and I work in healthcare, so I understand), my sales rep was 'handed off' the sales contract to purchase the vehicle from the Finance Manager. I went through the paper work alone and came across some bootlegged copies of some Blank Power of Attorney sheets they wanted me to sign. RED FLAG 2- when I questioned, the Finance Manager said "those didn't need to be in there". Then I continue going through the paperwork and I see they undervalued my trade in Mercedes by $2,000. When questioned, the Finance Manager made up some BS about a tax credit. That's RED FLAG 3. Then I waited about 2 more hours for them to get the car ready for me to drive home. Around 10pm, I finally asked the Finance Manager if he needed the $3k check for down payment... and who to make it payable to. Honestly, the staff were so friendly, but seemingly clueless. I was given my temp tag and told them I wanted to transfer my plate from my original car to the one I just purchased. They told me, "it's no problem, when you get your updated registration in the mail, you can put your plate back on. One month later, the saga continues. I still don't have my new registration and needed to reach out to the dealership to extend my temp tag, which they did. I also left honest feedback about my experience. I also haven't received anything from the loan company they recommended and I knew the payment was coming due. On top of this, I saw through Mercedes Me app that my car loan still wasn't paid off! About a month later it was paid off, however, I still hadn't received anything from the loan company about my first payment. Then I realized in my Alfa Romeo app that I had two vehicles on my account. RED FLAG 4. I went back to check the the VIN on the paper work and I realized 'they' put the wrong vin number. I HAD TO GO THROUGH THE SALES CONTRACT ALL OVER AGAIN with the correct vin. The Finance Manager had the audacity to request a 'positive review talking about how he turned the experience around' after questioning me about the "terrible review" I left previously. Apparently all the dealership did was take my survey and slap it on the Finance Managers desk... more waste of my time. I will say- on the second round of paperwork, they corrected the trade in value to the agreed upon amount, but they charged me an electronic processing fee, even though it wasn't my fault they messed up my paper work when I was there in person. Finally, two months later and about 1.5 weeks until my second temp tag expires, I email the Finance Manager and told him I STILL haven't received my registration in the mail. A day later he says "he can check". A week later, I check the state DMV site and see there is a sanction on my license as my previous car is now being registered in another state and my plate is still assigned to the vehicle!! Then I also see my new car with a NEW PLATE number. I was floored. After spending MORE OF MY TIME trying to get through to someone at the DMV, I was able to remove the sanction on my license by notify the state that I sold my previous car (normally the dealership does this, but since they're incompetent...) and I was able to pay $7 to have my old plate transferred to my new car. Here we are, a day before my temp tag is about to expire and the dealership is calling me to tell me that my plate has arrived and they would like to mail it to me. Now I'm out an additional $250 for a plate I didn't ask for. So I have to spend more time to submit paper work to get a refund for the plate so I can surrender it. I'm summary- if you have more time then God and the patience of a saint, this place is for you. They are very slow at getting back to you and they blow a lot of smoke up your a**. This review isn't for them, as it's evident they have no regard for anything other than a sale. It's honest feedback. And it's ridiculous. So, the car is on all car websites for $21,907. I scheduled an appointment to see the vehicle. Drive over a hour to the dealership for the saleman not to even greet me or my wife Red flag number one. We patiently waited for about 5-7 minutes before he even ask us what we where there for, so we're just standing there looking like we're lost or something no problem we're there for the car. Finally we sit down and he tells us the car might have been sold. We wait another period of time to find the car is still available. So, before we test drive the car I asked about the dealership fee his response nothing crazy straight and forward tax and tags. Get into the car and it has a check engine light. After the test drive I tell him before hand I'm buying cash. He tells me to buy the car and bring it back for service, but it was on the website for at least 2 weeks. He still ask if I want to finance? Comes back with a mark up of 32k. And shows me the same initial price and another price on his compute. So, I proceed to leave do to lack of professionalism. He stops me and says whats the price you're willing to pay after all the unprofessionalism. I still give him a shot 25k, remember the car still has a check engine light. He comes back with 27k and say take it or leave it like I asked him to bring me that offer back knowing my bottom line. Very poor customer service and terrible salesmen. I'm a new mom of one and I was driving around a death trap sent it in for repair took three weeks and they didn't fix half of what they told us they would... lied about the car not needing any work.. when I took it to another machianic he was astonished how I'm okey. I tried to get a confirmation on my 1st appointment, but they didn't return my calls. I actually did get a confirmation on my 2nd appointment, but they didn't honor it when I showed up.
