The drinks!! I am definitely skipping this next time. A cocktail is $48 plus gratuity and tax means spending $55 on a cocktail drink. Nooooo!!! Been here twice (8/16/2025 and 9/28/2025) and had a great time. This is a place that you come to hungry! The portions are absolutely phenomenal. The first time around I had the Salmon Fritters as my appetizer and the Steak and Eggs meal with home fries with a side salad as my entrée. Although I finished my meal in it's entirety, the remainder of my party struggled to finish their food because it was so much. The second time around, we came for dinner by default because Brunch ended at 4pm. I ordered the Surf and Turf meatballs as an appetizer. The Surf and Turf Oxtail meal with a side salad. I got the Mac and Cheese to go. My drink was served out of a 750 ml Don Julio drink and it was very strong. Another great experience at NK even 2 years later. Impressed with the consistency. We went for brunch and I had the oxtails with sweet plantain waffles. It came with an option of one side and there were so many to choose from! I had the cheese grits which were so creamy and delicious. I particularly liked that the bottomless mimosas option let you choose from like 8 choices of drinks! That's special. The table had sangria and the island mimosas which I heard were good. I'm pregnant so I had unlimited piña coladas as a substitute which were very yummy. The staff was sooooo polite and accommodating. They are deceiving about prices. Just like the other reviews warn. The food is decent, but extremely expensive. Lunch with me, and my wife costed $150 and we only got 2 entrees with no drinks etc. they charged us more than what the menu priced our items at, and added a 20% tip on their own. I had them adjust the bill accordingly, but I felt some dishonesty. If I didn't check, I would have spent a lot more money than I was supposed to. The waiters wouldn't even come back to fill our water, and it wasn't even that busy. I had asked 3 times before I got up myself (the food was spicy). As as result I took home their lobster Mac and cheese and it was worse than the ackee. Decided to visit NK with my friends for brunch. It's a Caribbean mix of Haitian, Jamaican, and Dominican. We were not disappointed. Since it was a weekday, it was not crowded (which was nice). Our waiter was helpful with his recommendations. He made sure that our bottles were replenished in a timely manner. With the bottomless option, the whole table has to get it so keep that in mind. We ordered the NK Island Mimosa and the Reposado Mimosa from the Prixe Fixe Menu. This option is 1 entree, 1 side, and 90 min bottomless. I'm giving three stars for the mere vibe of this spot. We came here for a celebratory brunch to honor our cousin for her 35th birthday. It was a couples' outing and there were six of us. We originally had a reservation for 245P but arrived late and worried they might not seat us, but they accommodated and it was litty inside. The DJ did a great job with the music, playing all the songs we grew up whining and grinding to, getting the patrons involved, and making it a really fun and interactive brunch. Our server was very nice. He introduced himself, he was personable and he fit with the theme of this restaurant. He took our drink orders and we all opted for the Rum Punch. It definitely had a kick. It's made with Wrey & Nephew...IYKYK. My family is from Jamaica so I was very excited to try out their menu. The prices are up there but as appetizers go, you're better off getting the empanadas. They're $24 but you get a good amount that's enough to share. For some reason I missed that on the menu and ordered the Lollipop Lamb Chops which I don't suggest ordering. They're 'double chops', only in that they each had two bones. Yes. There were only two of them. The price? $26. The meat was very small (meat medallion was the size of a half dollar on one, the other, a quarter) and one of them was overcooked. Legit, the bones were thicker than the medallions. For that price, they should have given a couple more. That app was not even enough for two people to share. For my main, I opted for the Oxtail Plantain Waffles. I was disappointed with this dish. There were only 3 somewhat warm oxtails, and the waffles were cold. They didn't taste like plantain. I expected actual fried sweet plantains, pressed in a waffle iron, which would have been way better. The oxtial tasted OK but the protein was so scant. There were way more cold waffles than I would have liked, and an obnoxiously large dressed salad on the plate that took up the most space. For reference, this dish was $35. Ridiculous. You're better off going to a hood West Indian restaurant and picking up a medium oxtail dinner for half the price. At this point, we were just paying for the ambience. Hubby had the Jerk Chicken & Waffles, and enjoyed it. His food was actually warm and he was also given way more of his protein than I. He had around three pieces of chicken, half a bird. In hindsight, I'm glad I ordered a side of turkey sausage just in case. The birthday girl had a filet for her steak and eggs dish but I'm not sure what kind of filet it was. When I read filet, I'm assuming the cut of beef will be filet mignon but that was definitely not it. Her hubby had the same but ordered the ribeye which was huge in comparison. After we were pretty much done with our food, I ordered some to-go oxtail empanadas and for some reason, after 20 minutes, I was told they ran out. I ordered the curry chicken ones instead and those came out in 10. Go fig... For the most part, we had a good time. The music was great, the energy was contagious and the drinks were strong. The one thing that's weird is how they ended the brunch. They began packing up and cleaning, letting the crowd know that brunch was ending. The DJ packed up and left everyone cleared out. I'm guessing they were readying for their dinner crowd but there was no crowd. Literally, two couples came in and were sat for dinner, but we were told that we had to move from our table because they needed it for their "dinner rush". We might have been pushed out because we didn't get any bottle service. One table of ladies that did, wwas able to stay with no issue. It was odd. The place was empty. Great option for Caribbean food with creative options in Long Island. We got there when the opened on a Tuesday, so we were the only diners up until we closed out our check. The playlist was a mix of soca, reggae pop, and 90s r&b/pop. So we were jamming the entire meal. Before dining, we were offered a hot towel to wipe our hands with. Definitely a nice touch. Both entrees were good. The lobster was a bit scarce in the Mac and cheese, but the noodles were cooked well and the overall dish was good. The oxtail was very tender though there were only 3 pieces. The plantain waffles are a selling point in my opinion. It's not something you can get everywhere, the waffle batter is very well done -- nice and thick, and the plantain is prominent. Well my friend recommended this spot. He's eaten here a few times apparently. We met up after over a year to catch up. So it was kind of important. The place was not all that busy when we walked in for lunch. There seemed to be only 1 server working the floor. He was really nice. I think he was a bit overwhelmed though. The food was pretty good I have to say. The server asked how I'd like my steak. So I said medium is fine but closer to medium rare would be great. The steak they give was pretty thinly sliced compared to most steaks and well it was cooked well done. Still the seasoning on it tasted pretty good. Just a little disappointing. Why bother asking the temp I'd like my steak if your kitchen can't deliver?? Anyway, we got the bill decided to split it. The guy delivers the copy we are supposed to sign. Oddly we noticed there was an "Additional Tip" suggestion of 2% 3%..... and up and up... the original receipt was given back to us. We had to request it from the server. Afterwards the NK jerk ribeye steak with vegetables was ok nothing special and it tasted a little burned for some reason, I wish there was little more vegetables besides the 3 baby potatoes it came with. I've been here for dinner as well and the vibe is completely different. If you come for brunch and want to do bottomless, everyone in your party has to do it. The pre fixe bottomless was $75 each , you get : an entree, one side plus you bottomless. Also with the bottomless you can only have two beverage options for the table. Unfortunately, got into a verbal altercation with the manager, after the bill was paid, this past Wednesday night as I was giving feedback on our dinner that night. Biggest takeaway now is that the managers need a bunch of work on communication between their team and how they handle guest feedback and complaints.. The space is really beautiful inside with a lot of areas for photos and some small tables in the dining room with comfortable benches and chairs, really nice. This night we were out for my brothers birthday, and wish we had known in advance that Wednesday nights are more of an open floor dancing type vibe, so we were sat next to the server pass through doors, but it wasn't much fuss, didn't smell and I wasn't getting my chair knocked around. They also do a stylized menu for birthdays with the persons name which was nice. The music was loud for the dance floor, but the song choices were right up our alley and DJ or playlist was great, so all was well. Our server Estefany was very nice, funny and attentive and it seemed like the host and staff were the same. The red flags started with there being no tap water "that night" for our table and so we had to get the bottle water.. May be a health department issue but we looked past it. The food in general was alright, not as good as the presentation, and really not worth the price. The drinks were better, the rum punch was great and surprisingly The Godfather on their menu was tasty and strong. The prices for the food and drink, as many people say, are very high, even for the area it's located, so be sure to bring your wallet, BUT only 1-2 cards for payment. They have an invisible policy of a two card maximum splitting of the bill, before they add on another charge to the bill, and will let you know only when you give them more than 2 cards, as the manager clarified. Another red flag, as it's not posted anywhere and wasn't told to us at all during the night, but "store policy" as the manager states. The biggest issue was with the cake that we brought in to have presented for the birthday boy. Multiple times I called and informed, and informed the hostess when we arrived, that we were going to bring in our own cake to be presented with the sparklers but we didn't need it sliced and served, as they charge another 10% of the bill for that, so they would box it back up after. Somehow this was never relayed to the manager, or our server, and the cake was left out of the night, instead we got a cheesecake slice with the sparklers and the cake back and the end of the dinner. Disappointing but thankfully he still had a good time. After all that and looking past the high prices and bill... we payed and I wanted to give my feedback. Came here on two different occasions in one week to celebrate some birthdays. Over the restaurant is beautiful, lovely ambiance, customer service is good the owner is very attentive to the guest. The drinks are amazing- order the rum punch. But the food can be a whole lot better. The two times I came I felt like the food could've had more flavor and better portioned especially for the price. The wait time for the food was very long both times I came and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. I tried the sugarcane short rib- spicy and the meat was very chewy, the calamari is really good by far the best app I've tried here. I tried the vegan mushroom dish over coconut rice pretty good just needed more flavor. I also tried the whole fish which I believe was a mackerel-not bad but not all that. I tired the fried rice- pretty good. A friend at the table got the jerk chicken. The jerk was burnt- when we ask the waiter for another dish cause the chicken was dry and burnt he said yes it's jerk chicken what do you expect -_- smh. We was all disbelief at the comment. This place was amazing. When I first walked in, the ambience in this place was beautiful. The dishes were also very full, but it was delicious. Not to mention the service, my waiter was very attentive to my meals and whatever I needed at the time. I will be back!!! Don't sleep on this place!!! read more

This restaurant was absolutely amazing! My favorites were The Rum and Coke Ribs as well as the Calamari. Yes, I know what you're thinking, Rum and Coke flavored??? I was skeptical as well They were DELICIOUS!!!! ⁠The meat for the ribs were tender and FILLED WITH FLAVOR!!! The crispiness and sauce on top of calamari ⁠ Everything we had was sooo good! My only complaint was that the lobster pasta did not have enough lobster at all. It's just what you see at the top so that was a big let down. My cousin ordered Conch aka Lambi.
