Our travel trailer broke a bearing in the axle on Memorial day 2018 and NK towing worked with us and AAA to get us back on the road, they even stored our trailer for a few days while they located the required tow truck to get the trailer back to the dealer 70 miles away. I never write yelp reviews, but this was worth sharing. My truck flipped on it's side and was totaled in an accident on the way home. NK Towing was called to arrive at the scene. Rick was my tow truck driver, hooked it up, and took it to the yard. I was still in shock and didn't give it much thought at the moment, but I realized a few hours later that I had left over $1000 worth of camera gear and personal items in my truck. We all know the horror stories of personal items mysteriously disappearing from towed cars aka the tow yard tax. Fast forward to the next morning, I showed up at the yard. Rick from the previous day saw me and came over to check in on how I was doing after the crash and give me an update on towing my car in. Crystal at the window was extremely helpful and almost immediately took me out to the car to retrieve my items. I pried open the door and low and behold, it was all there. This is the towing service from hell. My experience was on 10-04-13 I should have written a review at that time; but so much was happening at the time. I called AAA to have my car towed to Toyota Carlsbad from the top of the hill of El Camino Real near the mortuary and the church in Oceanside. There was road construction going on..and it was down to one lane northbound...I burned my clutch. When the tow truck driver attached my car in the front end to put it on the flat bed of the truck he attached to the inner tie rod end instead of to another part of the car. When the dealership examined my car to check the damaged clutch which had to be replaced caused by me they also verified what the tow truck driver had done. The towing company apparently went back and forth with the AAA claim representative trying to blame it on me; but the dealership stood by their findings. The towing company finally accepted responsibility for the damage the tow truck driver had caused when towing my car. The entire power steering rack and pinion gear assembly had to be replaced since the tie rod end is not available as a separate piece. I had to pay for it first and then the towing service cut me a check for the entire cost. I would never trust any of their drivers to tow my car again. Don't waste your time! My sisters car broke down in a Home Depot parking lot. So we originally called NK towing (because she was recommended by a friend) gave them the correct address as to where we were. They tell us 9am they could tow us. We get there at 9am and 915 rolls around, with no word from NK towing. So we call, and the woman (whose was incredibly rude) answers and tells us he's on his way. The tow driver calls us shortly after telling us he's here and can't find us. Turns out he's at the wrong Home Depot. He's at the Home Depot 2 towns over. It would take him 45 to get over to us. At this point in time I'm thinking in my head (didn't I give him the exact address) HAHA! So that's when I looked up on yelp and found Adams towing. I went ahead and give them a call. First of all, tow truck drivers and tow companies are usually dealing with unhappy customers to start with. Usually, people have just been involved in a crash, a mechanical breakdown, or had their car towed for some kind of violation. My scenario was a bit different but equally an unhappy event. Two weeks ago my car was stolen and then last night I get a call from the sheriff that they found it and had it towed to an impound yard. No other information given. Oh-boy, this is going to be fun I thought. I was right. All along the way there were so many times where a little effort by someone else would have made a big difference in helping me get through this, but no that's not the way they operate in this type of business, or the sheriff for that matter. Getting my car out was going to be a scavenger hunt with a wild search for clues. It started with no information from the sheriff other than that they found the car and a phone number to call. Then the towing company not knowing a thing about the car, other than that it was going to cost 375 bucks to get it out right then, or wait until morning and pay 285. The hard part is that they act like this is a foreign thing to them, like they've never done this before. Anyway, excited that I was going to get my car back I waited patiently until morning, barely able to sleep. The next day I go to pick up the car at the yard. I've never seen so much security in my life, it looked like San Quentin maximum security prison. Walking in, I felt like what the prisoners there must have felt like. I will say that the people working there, all of them, were very friendly and helpful. I didn't see the car however, so I decided before forking out 285 dollars that I would ask to see the car. The lady was skeptical, but asked her boss who said it was ok. Thank God he did. Turns out the whole time I was standing right next to the car and didn't even recognize it. It was completely stripped to the bone...a shell of a car. Long story short, its a tough and unpleasant business, but these guys were alright. In the long run they didn't rip me off when they probably could have. Oh and thanks sheriff for giving me a clue about the obvious condition of the car.. I know they are not evaluators of damage, but come-on. I wasted the whole day making plans to get it out, when with a totaled car I could have just called the insurance company to do everything. read more

Terrible Company. Liars who Lie out of their Lie Hole. I was stuck on the freeway in rush hour traffic. I called AAA. It was 6:05 when I got off the phone with AAA. I then received an automated call saying the tow truck would arrive at 7:05. My husband came to help me he arrived at 6:45 put a gallon of gas in my car and help me move it more onto the side so that I was less in danger. My car still would not start. If that solved the problem I would have called and cancelled the truck, so they could help someone else. So we waited for the tow truck. Usually with AAA I get tons of calls from the tow truck provider to say they are on their way Other than the automated call at 6:05 there was no calls at all. So at 7:10 I call back AAA. AAA tells me the call had been cancelled by the NK towing driver. The NK towing driver stated he talked to me and I said I didn't need any help, and so he cancelled the call. I went ballistic. I know that AAA is not responsible for this I know that it was all NK Towing, so I feel bad about the language I used and how loud I yelled at the AAA dispatcher, it was not her fault. So the dispatcher tells me that It will be another 30 minutes to get a tow truck out there. The language and yelling intensified, but soon i was off the phone with her and my husband and I were still waiting. So around 7:30 we get a call from a Gina at NK towing asking us if we want a tow truck or if we just want gas. She stated that the Tow trucks didn't carry gas only the gas trucks carried gas. If our car didn't start after adding more gas we would have to wait for a tow truck. So we decided to go for the tow truck in the first place to save time. She said since the tow truck didn't carry gas they would have to tow us to a gas station. She got off the phone before I could ask her how long it would be before the tow truck was there. I finally got a hold of Gina at 7:50 and she said "OH the tow truck will be there in 30 to 40 minutes:". At this point I was done: I went and got in my husband's truck and got gas. By the time I arrived back at my car. The Tow Truck had arrived and it was 8:15. My husband told him to wait we didn't want to have to tow my car if all it needed was gas. So the Driver (OF THE TOW TRUCK) pulls out a gas can and puts 3 gallons of gas in my tank, and sure enough my car starts. Gina is a total liar. AAA needs to end their contract with NK towing before they start losing customers. The tow truck driver was very nice, he had been warned, and I was not going to go after him, he was just trying to do his job. read more

Every time I see a NK Tow truck I still get angry! They towed my car a while ago and it was first thing in the morning going to work and I had my GPS in the arm console. Needless to say when it got to the dealership which I worked for it was gone. I called right away and they argued with me and said I had no proof. They are dishonest, and rude. I live in Fallbrook, the land of steep driveways and curvy streets. I called AAA for a tow to Orange because the starter motor on my classic Porsche had failed. Mark from NK Towing arrived on time as promised and was meticulous about maneuvering his flatbed down my steep driveway without bottoming out and damaging the concrete. He then helped push my disabled car out of the garage and position it to get it on the flatbed. He was extremely careful in loading the car not to damage the underbody when transitioning to the flatbed. By the time I got to the repair shop in Orange, Mark had already dropped off my car. I was in town for a wedding, and unfortunately my car wouldn't start after I dropped off my outfit for alterations. AAA dispatched Hershel initially to check out my battery. He responded quickly, he was nice, and made all attempts to get my car started. I ended up having to be towed so he arranged a tow through his company. Dana was awesome, she gave me a courtesy call with her ETA, which put me at ease. When she arrived, we went over my options and I took her advice to bring my car to the dealership. It was out of my range, and cost more than a local tow. But, it was the absolute best decision for me and my car. Dana even recommended that I call ahead to reserve a loner, or a rental while we were on our way. She was right on - I was able to get the last loner! Hershel and Dana were truly great, and really put me at ease during a very stressful situation. We were coming down a steep road from Julian, headed to Pechanga when the brakes in our motor home failed. Very scary. Fortunately, we were able to pull over and call AAA. After considerable delay due to the size of tow truck needed to handle our RV, we met Humberto from NK. What a gentleman! His mechanical and communication skills immediately put us at ease. He quickly took all the steps needed to ensure the safe transport of our RV and all of us within his truck. Humberto towed us into the Pechanga RV Resort at our request and made quite an entrance with his impeccable driving and maneuvering skills. DO NOT USE NK TOWING I called first thing this morning cause they had a vehicle in there yard that i needed brought to me, i was gonna use my normal tow company EMpire towing in oceanside, but NK adviced me that there was gonna be some $50.00 gate fee cause they really werent open today. but if i kept the vehicle there any longer they were gonna charge me more storage. My only option not to get any of there extra fees was to let them tow the vehicle to me, which was more expensive then my tow company but by 30 dollars so it still was cheaper to let nk do it. i was told over the phone that it was going to be an hour to more then 1.5 hours MAX. so two hours later i have no vehicle and not one phone call or update from nk towing. i call back and the lady advices me that i got cut off the nk guy had a more important call at the time and my car would get to me in atleast another 30 minutes...I Should have just used empire towing and paid the extra fee to get the car out cause here i am sitting tyyping this 2.5 hours later still no tow truck driver in site. its saturday and i have things to do.. if i leave the vehicle there i will be nailed all sorts of extra charges and storage fees. they get you into a corner and just slap you with every kind of fee they can come up with. they have nothing but horrible reviews on here but like i said they had the vehicle that i needed. Outrageously overpriced! Find a different towing company! My daughter borrowed my car and parked it at a nearby convenience store. A short time later, on foot, she was detained by the CHP. The officer felt that the car should be towed and stored until we, as the registered owners, could come and pick it up. I disagree with the officer's judgment but that's not the worse part. NK towing, which allegedly has a contract with the CHP DID NOT call us to either pick up the car nor to notify us that they were towing the car to their facility EVEN THOUGH we lived less than a mile away. How rude! To make matters worse, they charged us $337 to retrieve the car and it was less than 24 hours after the incident! I sent them a polite email message requesting a partial refund and they said no. They charged us more than 3 times the normal amount because, they said. they could. OMG! Run the other way! read more

This company has illegal towing practices. They are constantly coming into my daughters apartment community with their tow gear down and ready towing cars who do not have a parking pass displayed. The rental office is not open on weekends and there is very little parking there to begin with. Even if you park for a minute you can be out of luck as they patrol several times a day and through the night. My daughter was towed even though she had a pass, but because it had blown off the dash and they didn't see it they towed her car. And they are still charging her. This happens all the time to people there. The people there have been very rude and she was even hung up on. She is seeking legal action against them and the apartment complex. read more

I am posting this to make the public aware of the predatory towing practices going on at the Vista location. The second time that it was towed they released it to me at no charge because it was an unauthorized toe and I am a tenant at the apartment complex now this third time that they towed it they charged me 240$ to get my car out because they said there was no permit this is a perfect example of a horrible business stealing money from hard working people. This place is basically a glorified car seats because they're stealing cars from designated areas which the tenants pay every month to have and then charging them a ransom to release them I was never offered to speak to management or anything the tow truck drivers at this location really really suck and I will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau as well as the sheriff's department read more

These guys are thieves! I had my car parked in front of my house for about a half an hour because I was waiting for my son's friend to move his car, and these guys towed my car. Although, there is no parking on the street I live on, people do it all the time, and I wasn't out there that long. They claimed it was after hours when they got my car, so they added a $92.50 gate fee. Really??... geez, can't you guys think of another way to make money other than ripping people off? When I got there to pick up, there were about 5 guys standing in the parking lot, there were 2 dispatchers in the office and another lady sitting at another desk and some guy walking around (possibly a manager). If that was after hours, why is there so many people in the office??? Also, their website says they are opened 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They had my car for about an hour and charged me $322.50 to get it back. Creeps! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would give them a negative 10! Bike got a flat & they were dispatched by AAA. On the way a strap broke, bike still attached with other strap, and was pulled along right side about 70'. I understand equipment fails. Not the drivers fault. Driver said he would make sure company took care of it. What ensued was a headache. Many phone calls not returned. I had to file a claim with my insurance who promptly took care of it. In the meantime, my truck stopped working so, I call AAA. They send out NK Towing again. Short story, they broke my drivers side mirror between my house & the shop yet failed to say anything. I went ballistic on repair facility, who checked porters notes. They had mirror as damaged. Driver didn't say a word! If you have to use NK Towing, beware. Their customer service is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. Avoid at all cost. Next time I get a flat on my bike, I'm calling my wife to hop in the truck grab the trailer and get me.
