Went in today just for a lash lift and wasn't really happy with my results. Not sure if it's my eyelashes not working with the chemicals correctly but they don't really look CURLED (they do a little bit but not a lot). I used to go to nkd to get my brows waxed years ago at the old location, but found a new place when i moved to college. After moving back home i decided i'd get a wax and a tint. I made sure to let the girl doing my brows know that i want to keep my natural brow color (not go darker), but just fill in the blonde hairs on my arch. She applied a stain because the tint didn't fill in the arches as well as we would've liked. I made sure to tell her i did not want a boxy brow, and while she did say the color will fade after a couple days, I have a life and a job and this is WAY too dark and boxy. I felt ridiculous leaving and the tint/stain looks painfully obvious. I was really hoping for better results. read more

I found Nkd on Yelp and made an appointment with Crystal for a serious brow rescue. I've been growing my eyebrows for my wedding this upcoming weekend and was super nervous about get them done. Crystal did not disappoint! She explained everything and made great recommendations since I'm still in the process of growing them out. She also took the time to explain and show me how to shape my brows with a pencil for the big day. Crystal was incredibly personable, knowledgeable and I loved her outlook on skincare. I would definitely recommend her to my friends. I'll be making an appointment with her again when I'm back in town. The salon itself has a really chill vibe. I love that they sell a variety of products, everything from skincare, to makeup and hair care. They have a lot of great items that you wouldn't necessarily see at your common salon/spa, like face and eye masks and lashes. Additionally, the customer service was A+. The ladies who were at the front desk were friendly and ensured I was attended to quickly. Nkd also has a plethora of services, which I'm most interested in going in for a massage and facial - updates to follow. I'm actually going in for another appointment tomorrow and I can't wait. I actually started going to this place last year during the summer when I was trying to get last minute waxing done for a Brazilian and all other places I've tried going to were booked. Luckily I searched up NKD and they were close by and had really good ratings, their pricing was also average compared to other salons so I had nothing to lose. Today I went to get one done since I'm going on vacay soon, originally I had booked it for Thursday evening but decided to look again today and found some last minute openings so I was able to get in. I was able to be in and out in 15 mins. Brenna was friendly and quick, and definitely did not make things awkward, because let's be realistic, it's a little awkward when you're getting your lady parts maintained, but she was talkative and did it quick and painlessly as possible. I've been going to NKD for years for waxing and honestly haven't bothered to go anywhere else because I love the salon. Great esthetic, friendly and professional staff as well as great service. There was a 50% off sale for facial services which was an offer I couldn't refuse. I got a signature Glo facial, dermaplaning and an oxygen treatment in addition to leg and underarm waxing with Danielle. I wasn't really sure what to expect waxing wise. I only book my waxing appointments with Kristie because she's the absolute best, quick yet thorough and she doesn't go over a section she's already waxed. But Daniel did a great job she really took her time and make sure every single strand of hair was removed all the way down to my toes. My facial went really good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. I have a couple things I'd like to touch on. I wish the services being performed were explained step by step i.e "I'm going to start off with dermaplaning, next I'm going to perform the oxygen treatment, now it's time for the Glo facial, now I'm going to do extractions." Another thing I wanted to note was that when Danielle initially started dermaplaning, my face wasn't cleansed by her beforehand. She went right into dermaplaning then noticed that I had some left over makeup so she stopped, cleansed my whole face then continued. On NKD's website it clearly states "You are cleansed and the treatment is performed." I also wanted to note that got nicked 7 times during dermaplaning and the process was a little uncomfortable. I understand that a very sharp blade is shaving a layer or skin and hair off of the face, but the blade should be positioned in a way that it doesn't feel so rough this could've just been with me, but maybe a little more experience is needed. For the salon in general, I wasn't too fond of the towels used to wipe products off the face. Danielle was extremely gentle, but I felt like the towels are a little too abrasive. A suggestion is microfiber towels. Lastly the gown that I was given to change into was dingy around the top band and smelled like oil from a previous massage. I feel like fresh gowns should be given to each client to make the over all experience better. Over all I think Danielle did a wonderful job, she was very thorough, gentle she has the soften touch I've ever experienced, did a great job with waxing and massaging, I just had a few critiques for the facial portion of my appointment but after my appointment I truly felt like a brand new woman. I will definitely be getting facials more regularly at NKD and I absolutely recommend this salon! Great environment and staff. And be sure take advantage of their sales and promotions they have them often. The deal that I took advantage of saved me a great deal and I appreciate that they really care for their clients. I went for a Brazilian. They had me wait 40 minutes before my appointment. Then I was about to experience the most painful hour of my life. I'm not sure if the wax ladies are certified. I have been coming here consistently for Danielle who no longer works for them. This new person didn't seem like she's done this before. She did not trim and I tried to be nice about it and told her not to finish because I could not take the pain. She was not even able to remove the excess wax and I tried to do myself when she left. When I went to the cashier with only half the job done and planning to go to Lunchbox Spa later to finish the job, they insisted to charge me the full $66 even though it was of their own fault. read more

My bridesmaids, my mother, and I went to NKD to have hair and makeup done for my wedding on 10/7/17. I had an excellent time scheduling and planning the morning of hair and makeup schedule with them. The ladies at NKD are on top of things! They were able to get all 8 of us done before schedule, and everyone was extremely happy with the outcome of their hair and makeup. They were especially patient with my mom who hadn't had her makeup done before! I had the pre-facial treatment for my skin prior to makeup application and thought it was definitely worth it to have my skin looking great before makeup application. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. All of my bridesmaids told me what a wonderful time they had! I have only been here a few times since I recently moved away. However, each time I have been there has been nothing short of amazing. I went there for my first brazilian (so naturally shy and awkward) but Hannah made the whole process as relaxed as possible and comfortable. She walks you through when to breathe if an area is going to be more painful, and knows how to hold an enjoyable conversation. I also got a lash lift and tint done here by Hannah, which i've previously had done elsewhere, but my lashes came out beautifully and lasted the longest from my appointment here. I had a great experience at NKD getting a full makeup and strip lash application. A few days before going to a wedding I decided I wanted to get my makeup done so I googled around and NKD came up. I was a little meh about having to wrangle through Kelley Square but I made my appointment online and on the day of I left early to make sure I got there on time. They have their own parking lot so that made things easier. Anyways, I got there and walked in and the space is really nice. Lovely natural light coming in, attractive layout, very clean. Caitlin was my makeup artist and she was super nice and I basically told her the general gist of what I wanted and she did an awesome job! I got the look I wanted, plus the week before my chin had decided to break out (much to my dismay...) and she literally worked magic and made the unevenness and redness just disappear. I was nervous about getting my makeup done at 9AM for a 4PM event (but it was really my only choice because we had to drive a bit to get to the wedding, and I was also getting my hair done, so everything needed to be done kind of early) but my makeup stayed looking fresh until well into the late night (I just reapplied lip color), so I was impressed at the longevity. Pricing is pretty spot on with industry standard. All in all, I had a great experience and I'm happy to have found a "beautification" place closer to me (in the past I've gone out to Boston for things like this) so in the future I will be back! read more

I'm new to the area and found NKD online. I've gotten an eyebrow wax, microderm treatment (first ever), and spray tan (first ever). Each service has been a pleasant experience. The staff is very professional and friendly. They've been patient with all of my questions. I really appreciate how they'll ask each other to get me the best answer or recommendation. I only wish I had come in sooner!! I have been so eager to come in and try out NKD since my friend Crystal works there, and also since I see all the incredible photos on social media. But living down on the Cape with two little ones makes "mommy time" a bit hard to come by. Well, I finally squeezed in some time for a facial before my cousin's wedding, and WOAH!!! I've only ever had maybe three professional facials before, but let me tell you, this one takes the cake! Hannah was just amazing! She set the mood for some serious relaxation, was very professional and friendly, and listened to all my concerns-and I walked out of there with the softest, most even skin I've had in many, many years! She even shaped up my brows as a last minute add on! Needless to say, my skin (and therefore my makeup) looked amazing at my cousin's wedding the following day because my skin was in such great condition.
