Overall could have been better. It may be barely okay - but not safe. PT and OT were good…read more Staff for the most part were friendly - not always competent. I had to wait long times for help to get to and from bathroom. Doctor and PT said that I was to have help getting into and out of wheelchair. Even when they came, they only watched, didn't help. At one time I was told to just do it myself - not to bother them. The worst was the private Care Conference scheduled for a conference room. The previous person overstayed, was not told she had to leave, and so my meeting was held in the hallway - most likely against HIPAA. Private information was openly revealed where others could hear. And, little if any suggestions were valid for when I was to go home. One suggestion was just to sell my house. Food was ok, but usually cold. Twice when I ordered ala carte, I got the standard meal. Breakfast was ok, but often not what I ordered. A number of times a nurse tech woke me from sound sleep to ask how I was doing. I arrived on Tuesday after four days in bed in the hospital. I asked for a shower - told not today, but tomorrow. Asked every day and finally got a shower on Friday. Had to "beg" to get a shower twice a week. Staff allowed roommate to have loud company one evening to nearly midnight. I had to ask for a bill. I messaged, emailed, and called. I finally got one that showed I was 120 days past due. I had not even been at Manzano Del Sol 120 ago when I got the bill -- and my insurance paid the first 20 days. Also - if I pay by credit card they will charge me over $100 extra. I would suggest trying another facility for your rehab if you have a choice.

I wish I could give 0 stars. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES TO…read moreTHIS PLACE. It seems like the people that work here are fed up with their jobs and just want the residents to rot in their beds. My mom had to stay in this hell hole for a month, which was gravely short staffed and over worked. Violeta a female tech, made fun of my mom in front of her face for not being able to walk. My mom suffers from a neurological disease that causes her to basically become paralyzed. Because she was unable to walk, Violeta made fun of her for that, calling her dramatic. My mom was often left soaked in diapers for hours which gave her a uti which they tested her for and two weeks later her results came back "negative" but then they realized it was "positive". She ended up getting a bed sore that my mom's friend had to point out and Manzanos response was that they won't do anything about it until it's a stage 3 bed sore. This place is a money hungry hell hole that lies to their residents. They quoted my mom $250 for a transport and once the transport was done they said it was $450. I would highly recommend all the people with their negative reviews to report this place to Ombudsman 18664512901. There have been a few CNAS at this place who were compassionate and amazing. Those nurses are Anastasia, Destiny, Shana & Mabel. Kitchen staff and food was great.

I particularly enjoy the side gym, which has core balls, free weights, dumbbells kettle balls, and stretching bands. The use of wage seems so important in maintaining health, and this group provides plenty of opportunity for such exercising with lots of other folks who are similarly trying to improve their health . One of the nicest features of the club are the members who look out for one another and respect one another.

New Heart NM is a medically supervised gym for people recovering from heart attacks, strokes, covid, or fighting obesity. It's also a place to go if you want to get approved for a workout by a cardiologist, with a routine pulled together by one of several kinesiologists or exercise specialists. It's also used by seniors who have access to the Silver Sneakers program set up as part of their insurance or medicare. It's largely an under-utlized gym, where all the equipment is in very good shape and kept clean by rules of Covid and all of the clients there adhere to the rules. If anything, they have too much equipment on the floor, given than it's never more than 10% full. The staff is welcoming, well educated, and each client is committed to their routine and has to track BP, O2, and heart rates throughout their designated exercise routine. Target heart rates, resistance levels, and circuits are all noted on detailed exercise sheets that every client has to keep track of. Where they could improve greatly is refining their work flow. They need to invest in a way to keep track of all the data electronically so that the staff isn't faced with a mountain of data entry everyday. What's the point of having a kinesiologist or an exercise specialist if they're not able to be on the floor regularly, encourage clients, and share knowledge if all you're doing is having them do data entry? Because the personal touch is how you earn a good reputation as well as getting new members. Without their enthusiasm, this is simply a place for old people on Silver Sneakers to shuffle through. They're also not working to get Gen X'ers and Gen Y's, who also might have issues with obesity, high blood pressure or diabetes. Pretty much everyone there is an aging boomer or older. There's much they could do to expand their services to provide services that they can bill insurance for. They could clear out the small room and turn that into Physical Therapy with Physical Therapists for recovering orthopedic patients and people who've been sent thru worker's comp. They could have a robust dietary program, staffed by a clinical Registered Dietician who works with not only those who want to lose weight, but those trying to come back from fighting cancer. They could do more adaptive sports training for those with mobility limitations. A higher profile overall when it comes to supporting athletic or fitness events that active people want to be in will help people find out about them, gain credibility in the community, and get them in. In all, there's only upwards to go, but that will involve retooling their board of directors and add persons with strong community networking, and financial backgrounds, who want to see this gym a success and unclip the wings of the present staff who are all stuck behind computers. Operated properly, and expanded to the westside and the NE, this gym could save and enhance lives.
