With my room key, I got a discount day pass rate (around $12) with an easy sign-in process. This place has a lot of equipment, including barbells, squat racks, free weights, rowers, cardio equipment, and standard weight machines. It's still missing some things, but for a drop-in, it's completely fine. There weren't a ton of people there, even on a Saturday morning, so I didn't have to wait for anything. One thing I really appreciated about this gym was all the workout "supplements" they had in vending machines. Whether you opt for a natural pre-workout powder, or one that has 10,000X your daily recommended doses of caffeine and BCAA's; and whether you are looking for vegan protein powder, or more traditional whey, they have a supplement for everyone (all in single servings). So, if you forget to bring your pre- or post- workout drinks, they probably have you covered. The locker rooms were fairly large and clean. You do not have to bring your own lock. My two critiques would be their fairly limited hours, especially on weekends, and the difficulty in finding it (it's downstairs in a sort of underground mall which is half locked-up). Also, it might be a bit limited as a normal gym with a regular membership. Otherwise, it's a great place to drop in while on the road for a workout.

They are well priced, and they offer a huge variety of classes... I have been going to yoga almost every day and I have found the instructors to be experienced and highly competent. I mostly run in the ABQ Bosque during the spring and fall, so I haven't really needed to use their treadmills much but I expect that will change in the winter. On the few occasions when I have needed to use them because it was cold, or I haven't had time to get down to the river, there have been plenty of machines and no wait times. This is obviously an operation that does well at scale. One of the best gyms I have used in my life.

At the end of June, I called several times to cancel my membership, but each time I was told to call back because the manager wasn't available. In July, I finally had to go in person because every time I called, the manager was either unavailable or in a meeting. I even left my contact information for a callback and never received one. When I spoke with Jenna, she told me I would be charged for August, but if I provided proof that I had moved along with my new address, the August charge would be waived. I submitted the requested documentation that same day in July, including proof of my new address. Unfortunately, Genesis rejected my documentation, and I'm still being charged for August. I never missed a payment and my account was fully paid through July. This has been an extremely frustrating experience. The lack of communication, inconsistent information, and failure to honor what I was told has been very disappointing. I expected a much smoother cancellation process, especially after providing everything that was requested.

If there was ANY other choice for an outside pool on the west side I would cancel my membership.
