We were introduced to Peter in October of 2020. He said he makes custom furniture and cabinetry and has been in business for many years. Peter was very charming, punctual and was detailed oriented. We were very impressed. This all changed once we had given him a deposit for our work. Peter had become full of excuses and explanations why he was late, delayed or could not do what we had agreed to.
He would do small tasks and then ask for more money, then would not come to work for weeks.
Our original completion date of a laundry room, mud room, primary bathroom and a primary closet was December of 2020, approximately 2 months of time. This deadline was pushed back by Peter on a weekly basis; he was blaming everyone from our contractor (we had other construction going on in the house at the same time), his workers, on his memory for forgetting certain vital materials or tools at his shop, lack of funds because his other clients were not paying him on time and ofcourse COVID. Till this day he has not completed our work, we eventually gave up and move in to the house. His work looks as it was completed as first time try DIY project; refurbished wood, chips everywhere, 5 different paint colors in multiple finishes, cracks, deep scratches among many other issues. Our bathroom vanity was left without panels and doors. Overall a disappointing disaster.
