My delivery was over an hour late, the food was cold, and some items were missing. This is not the first time, every time I order from them there is one issue or the other. Ordered my usual Singapore mei fun tonight along with sugar donuts. As usual the mei fun was spectacular and spicy just the way I like it. Consistency at its finest. What I really want to comment on though are the sugar donuts. As a little girl growing up in Great Britain we used to holiday on the Isle of Man. It was a ritual to walk along the promenade and get a warm sugar donut every night. These donuts took me right back there. These however are better because they're bite sized while the others were regular donuts. I know it won't make a difference to anyone who hasn't been there, but for me it was taking me me back to my childhood. read more

This is the best Chinese place in Toms River. I just moved to Toms River from new York city and I have to say that the Chinese food here is so good that I don't miss the new York city food anymore. The delivery folks are very nice and always on time. Any modification I ask for the happily make them which I really appreciate. I order from here at least once or maybe twice a week! my favorite from here is eggplant with garlic sauce and I asked them to add fried tofu which is delicious. Their chicken lo mein is amazing too. Gone a little downhill.... I rave about this place regularly but I got food here Friday night and was disappointed.... I ordered online and the time said an hour for delivery - food arrived an hour and a half later. The canned drinks were warm, one was incorrect, the fried rice and the egg rolls were flavorless. I have two favorite Chinese restaurants within a mile of each other. And we ordered from both of them for years even before two of my kids worked - One here and one at the other. (my number one China worker mostly was delivering.) I have some favorite dishes at each of Course; but none of our favorites are terrible at either. No. 1 China is my go-to neighborhood Chinese restaurant, and there are several in the area to choose from. Serving from the standard Chinese restaurant menu, everything tastes pretty much like one would expect it to. There isn't anything truly outstanding about it, but there isn't anything awful, either, and the woman behind the counter is always very friendly. Beyond that, there is very little to be said. That seems to be about the best that can be expected from a Chinese restaurant around here these days. I do shy away from dishes that incorporate seafood here; the shrimp aren't fresh, don't taste it, and won't keep overnight if you have leftovers. Any dish that purports to have lobster in it actually seems to be made with tiny crayfish (either that, or the worlds tiniest lobster tails). They don't bother me, but the old frozen shrimp does. Also, their bamboo shoots are very odd; they are sliced round, instead of into strips, and they are a bit bitter. I only mention this because I love bamboo shoots, and perhaps you do too. More likely you don't. At any rate, if you live in the area and aren't 100% satisfied with your last Chinese take-out experience, I would recommend giving it a shot. That's how I ended up ordering from them ten years ago, and I'm still doing it today. read more

I've ordered from probably half a dozen different Chinese places in my area that deliver and they have all sucked except for No. 1 China. It is the best that I have found by far. The food is solid, delivery time is decent and it's always delivered hot. The last two times I've ordered, I've asked for items not exactly on the menu and they're always happy to oblige.
