The rice is AWSOME almost all the time, and my son loves the Mongolian beef, he gets it all the time. For me and my mom, I get the chicken fried rice and she gets the shrimp, both are always very good. 2. The person you talk to over the phone however, is very hard to talk to. She either always has an attitude or never understands you, if you want something id highly recommend going inside and picking it up rather than ordering out. 3. This place had the most horrible food/horrible customer service. I called in our order to have delivery service although we live about a mile away. After we had been waiting over an hour I called to see if they forgot about us and the man said he had just left there and should be ringing the buzzer any minute. Half an hour after that I called again and suddenly noone could understand English. I just said forget it and hung up.15 minutes later the food was delivered. Here it goes.....the chicken for the sweet and sour chicken was so dark....it was obvious that they had fried and refried and refried at least 3x. I actually tried it and it was so hard and super crunchy and it hurt the inside of my mouth. The only thing that was ok were the potstickers and their sauce for those had absolutely no taste. We ordered 2 beef dishes and they both had a slight fishy smell but again, barely any flavor. I will never go there again and I will ONLY be ordering from Super Chinese. The sweet and sour sauce was very thick, too thick in my opinion. The meat was also not the best quality. The rice was not cooked properly (undercooked, crunchy). The fried rice was also pretty bland. As a rule, I almost always finish the food I buy at a restaurant. Here, I could not bring myself to do so. I admit that I have not tried the entire menu. In my defense, it is HUGE! I have had their egg rolls, their sweet and sour chicken, and their shrimp fried rice ESPECIALLY the shrimp fried rice. Understand that, in my house, only my 19 y.o. son does not like shrimp. Everyone else is engaged in a clandestine war to eat them all out of whatever dish contains them, from my 4 y.o. and 7 y.o daughters, to their mom - I'm not telling you her age; I enjoy life. This place offers two sizes of shrimp. I like mine BIG, and like like a LOT, so I order Jumbo shrimp with extra shrimp. The dish is delicious, the shrimp are plump and tender like fresh rather than precooked should be, and the prices are very nice. When I get home and make my plate, I then turn it over to the shrimp devourers. Even after they are finished, there u.s stil enough of those plump tender shrimp to make another bowl or two worth while. Whenever I am on that side of town, I stop there for a meal. You can never go wrong with place. There's nothing that really stands out but taste is consistent. The employees are ALWAYS friendly, everything is prepared when ordered even the lunch menu. Their food is always great. I typically order one of the lunch specials. Orange chicken and chicken and broccoli are always my go to. Their fried rice is better than any local place I have had. Food NASTY AND THE SERVICE SUCKS! My family and I ordered food on Saturday evening around 8:15pm when we got home we opened the extra large box of rice which was not full at all and the rice cold and it was beige not brown at all like fried rice should look, it had huge chunks of pork in the rice. I also ordered sweet and sour chicken which was cold and the inside was very doughy, my orange chicken with broccoli was cold and nasty we spent $40.00 dollars at this establishment and when we called back to complain no one answered the phone and they are closed on Sundays. So when we reached out today the man was rude and nasty and told me it was nothing he could do unless we brought the food back.. who keeps nasty food for two days to take back to a restaurant? This was not my first bad experience with this restaurant and I tried to give them another chance but NEVER AGAIN!!! They absolutely have the best fried rice in NWI (I LOVE fried rice) and lo mein. I also must mention I am VERY allergic to shellfish and this is one of the few places I can say definitely take precaution to not cross contaminate my food when other items in my order contain shellfish. Let me preface this by saying that me and my friends deliberately look for trashy Chinese restaurants. There's something charming, usually, about that inauthentic blend of Chinese and American. But not here. Not today. The food here is, somehow, far beyond the mediocre that we've come to expect. The General Tzo's chicken tasted like lumps of asbestos dipped in sauce. The fish looked and tasted like melted rubber (there was virtually no flavor). The Beef Lo Mein and Singapore Noodles I, luckily, can't say anything about; their taste and consistency were so mediocre and forgettable that there is really nothing worth saying. The Crab Rangoons were delightful, however. The service was prompt, and they gave us our food in a great big cardboard box, which was hilarious. And the serving sizes, of course, were tremendous, but given the quality of the food, that is more of an indictment than a blessing. All in all, avoid this place at all costs. read more

We ordered the dinner for two which came with plenty of food and many items to choose from to fill you up. From ribs that fall off the bone to the fresh soup ( upgraded to wanton soup for an extra dollar, well worth it) and the steaming hot beef and broccoli, you have to pace yourself in order to eat the other delicious item in store. (Sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, almond and fortune cookies,fried wantons and fried scallops and I'm probably forgetting a few things ) If you are hungry, you can't go wrong with this place. I went to this establishment to order four dinners for myself and family. There was a lady at the counter who took my order and could barely speak English. She explained to me that there would be a dollar charge for shrimp fried rice, I said that's fine. I paid and After adding the total it came out $1 more then it should have. I was trying to speak to her about it but the phone rang and she picked it up and had someone who could speak English come talk me. After him yelling at me he then finally calmed down to tell me it was $2 extra after 3:30. Which was fine. I suggest they learn to speak English to communicate with Americans properly. read more

New Years Day. You nap most of the afternoon away. Possibily a bit hungover...6PM rolls around and you're hungry. Party the nite before wiped out the fridge and cabinets. Groceries sound like too much of a task. And, ARGH, I just don't feel like cooking anyway. Hmm...Let's get Chinese. This was largely how my New Years day went. My husband and I, using a quick Yelp search, found that No 1 Chop Suey was the closest option to our apartment. Score! Since we had never ordered there before, we scraped ourselves off of the couches and headed there to pick out our food in person. Looks like any other Chinese food place inside. Little decor, a few plain tables and chairs for dine-in, etc. The televeision mounted in the corner had Friends on, which was a plus considering we were there for almost the entire episode. Yeah, it took awhile once we placed our order. I can only suspect that many had the same idea as us to get Chinese on the laziest Saturday of the year. There were 3 other groups waiting, and they do takeout as well. Lady at the counter was cheerful enough, so I wasn't too irritated. They have a giant, blown-up version of their menu on the wall to the left of the counter. Prices are decent with size options (small or large) for many of their dishes. We opted for the egg rolls to start, Beef Broccoli Chow Fun, and Spicy Kung Po Chicken. The egg rolls were indeed delcious. Had some minor complaints about the two entrees, though. The noodles with the Chow Fun were excellent--fluffy, tasty, soaked up the gravy. Nice. But, mushrooms were a big component of this dish. I'm not sure if this is standard for Beef Chow Fun, but I've had it without at other places. I didn't say mushrooms on the menu, otherwise I would have avoided because I HATE MUSHROOMS. Granted, I could pick around them, which I did, but there was way more mushroom than beef, probably a 2:1 ratio. Not cool. Gimme my beef. The Kung Po chicken was good, but I question why they would note "spicy" on the menu when it really wasn't. Had a nice tang, but not spicy. This dinner did satify our New Years Day craving. I definitely will visit again--it's a no-brainer with how close they are to our apartment and their prices/serving sizes were on point. I just instead will call ahead to forego the long wait, and maybe try other things on the menu--hold the mushrooms! read more

I ordered the Mongolian beef with fried rice and an egg roll. The Orange Crush and the egg roll were the best part of the meal. When I opened the container. The MB looked like an onion farm. Find the beef if you can! It had absolutely no flavor or spice of any kind. It was straight up onions, sauce and beef. Then comes the refried rice with cubed chicken in it. I looked through the whole pile and every piece was perfectly square. I don't think I got lucky and got all middle pieces. It came from a square chicken formed into a plank, then cubed. For 2 people we over-ordered, as everyone does with Chinese... Curried Beef, S&S Chicken balls (that have more chicken than I can ever remember having in this dish ever), Beef fried rice (the only slight disappointment) , a couple of egg rolls (& for some reason received 4,,..) and a veggie dish. Super divey chinese take out in a strip mall concealing really good chinese food. Their egg rolls are incredible. I love my egg rolls to have that peanuty taste to them and these deliver. No. 1 Chop Suey has some very good Chop Suey (hence the name, but what I go for time and time again is the chicken fried rice. I don't know what it is but this place has to be some of the best fried rice I have ever tasted. The other typical pseudo-Chinese fare is okay...Well, everything except the orange chicken.
