I work for a local home builder in Albany and I wanted buy my Construction guys sandwiches for lunch. I was totally not paying attention to time and I showed up an hour before they opened and I was so bummed thinking I was going to have to go to Subway, but one of the girls came out and said 'no problem, we'll get them for you!' Such awesome service and everything was great! I also like that they have salads and their salads are great also - lettuce is fresh, not iceberg lettuce, and it's a big serving! Super slow service! Waited to order. Waited for the line to catch up. When I was ready to check out they let a large to go order jump ahead of me. I can't comment on the food because after about twenty minutes I gave up and walked out. This place used to be great, I've even used it to cater lunches for the business I run. Basically an independent, more quirky version of Subway. Three friends and I went to No Baloney Subs on our way to Portland. The service was average; the workers weren't overly friendly and they also weren't jerks. The food wasn't good, but it didn't make any of us sick. There was nothing about the "restaurant" that made it feel like a restaurant. It's a storefront in a mall making sandwiches out of pre-sliced meat. Ho hum. read more

I feel bad for not posting a review sooner (I guess I need to spend more time on Yelp?!). I have been going to No Baloney since they opened last year. The owners also own the Baskin Robins in Albany and do a good job at both locations. I have never had a bad sandwich or experience at No Baloney. As I am a creature of habit and know what I like, I usually get the same sandwich (the Philly on a grinder). I would highly recommend the garlic-ranch sauce. I also like the fact that they often have an "off menu" item they are trying out and have had them make me the "special" a couple of times and again have never been disappointed. \ The ingredients are fresh and good. The restaurant is clean and usually busy. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you're not sure what to put on your sandwich will suggest and guide you through the sandwich making process. The prices are about the same compared to other sandwich shops and I think No Baloney has better sandwiches. We will be back (probably sooner than we should be) but this place is worth it. read more

Went here to grab a quick sandwich.. It was nice inside and seemed very clean. The ordering system was very awkward and confusing, multiple people were asking the same questions and not explaining how it works. Just kids working there, no adults. I got a veggie sandwich and it somehow ending up being $14... not quite sure how, especially for a sandwich with no meat whatsoever. This is the kind of sandwich shop you and I would make, if we felt like starting our own sandwich shop. My family and I went there my last night in Albany and we all had their grinder sandwiches. Mother was raving about the tuna, my brother had a French dip, and I had an Italian, each of us loving every bite. Everything was fresh and the meats were as though the owner hand-picked exactly the best to serve. I was also genuinely amazed by the number of toppings they had to offer, though the layout made these a bit hard to see. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made our meal even better. If you think of Subway when you think of sandwich shops, you should DEFINITELY try No Bologna. The quality, variety, and freshness of the sandwiches will make it worth your time. read more

I love sandwiches. Mostly when other people make them. Okay, only when other people make them. Prior to working in Albany, I ate (almost daily) at the same sandwich shop over and over again. I loved that sandwich shop. Needless to say, they have been bumped from sandwich makers ever, in lieu of No Baloney. I have not had a bad sandwich at No Baloney yet. Their grinder is amazing (make a sandwich on french garlic bread? Yes please!!) and everyone I have recommended to them has loved them. The staff is super friendly, which is a huge plus for me. They remember their customers and are happy to see you. If you are EVER in Albany or the surrounding areas, I highly suggest you give them a try. This is a better Togo's- but there isn't anything wrong with Togo's! What keeps me coming back is honestly the friendly and personable staff. We've had nothing but great experiences when we go in, it's a clean and organized restaurant and their grinder bread is pretty good! No Baloney is by far the best sub shop at which I've ever eaten. Great variety of different subs and soups. Lots of options of toppings, cheeses and sauces. You can even have a beer with your meal! I was a little bummed when Quizno's went out of business but little did I know that was a blessing in disguise! We tried this place for the first time today and loved it! I told my husband I was wanting a hearty, quality sandwich for lunch and it's exactly what we got here! I had a turkey on marbled rye and he had a BBQ sub. They had a great kids menu too. Food and service both used to be great a while ago. Now they are so slow any time of day it's faster to go buy the ingredients at Safeway, drive home and make your own sandwich. I'm exceptionally patient but the service is slow and they don't even TRY to speed up whatsoever. Food isn't the same quality it once was either.
