I have been taking my dogs to No Leash Needed(NLN) since they have opened, and I wanted to take a second to recognize the team for taking wonderful care of them. I really appreciate the friendly attitudes of the staff, the attention they pay to my dogs, and the additional time/effort they invest into pulling off all the great themed days too. The dogs always come home tired after playing all day and some of the pics from the themed days are priceless. I also specifically want to recognize the team for going above and beyond one evening when I called them to let them know I was running late to get the dogs. I had a terrible experience with No Leash Needed and would absolutely not recommend them. I brought my sweet Staffordshire Terrier for an evaluation before boarding, and from start to finish, the entire process was disorganized and unprofessional. We dropped him off at 8 AM and were told nothing throughout the day. When I arrived at 4 PM to pick him up, no one greeted me or acknowledged me when I walked in. When I asked how he did, the employee seemed caught off guard and simply said, "Oh, no one called you? He failed." There was no explanation, no courtesy call during the day, and no communication whatsoever. When I pressed for more details, they brought out a manager who was extremely rude and dismissive. It was clear that she was judging my dog based on his appearance rather than his actual temperament. My dog is anxious and vocal when nervous, but he is incredibly sweet. Instead of evaluating him fairly, it felt like they had already made up their minds the moment they saw him. Beyond the lack of professionalism, the facility itself was dirty and poorly maintained. If they can't even keep the front area clean and organized, I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes. This place does not seem to care about dogs as individuals, nor do they prioritize customer service. If you love your pet, take them somewhere that actually treats them with respect and gives you, as the owner, clear and timely communication. read more

My dogs are goobers, but they were prepared. I tried boarding my dogs overnight at a different facility two years ago, but they were attacked and didn't spend the night, so I didn't know how they would do now. They were completely fine at No Leash Needed. My dogs needed to be separated, but that wasn't an issue. One dog would go play with the big dogs and the other one would nap. The biggest issue was that my oldest dog ate his collar, but that's on brand for him and had nothing to do with the facility. NLN was great, loving, and my dogs will probably sleep for the next few days. I cannot wait for them to go back and have a great time! read more

Love NLN in Kirkwood! We took our Gracie Mae right after they opened in Kirkwood. She started out timid and a little stressed by the other dogs at first. The staff worked with her slowly having her play with just one or two dogs. She eventually made it into Day Camp! She goes for socialization two to three times a week. We just recently took advantage of the training. The trainers Nora and Dani are excellent trainers! We feel as though the staff really cares for Gracie Mae. It's a safe and fun environment. We have not boarded her overnight yet but feel comfortable she would be happy at NLN! read more

My wife and I have just had the absolute WORST experience. We had our pups there for a little more than 24hrs. To simply put it, this place will NEGLECT your pups. From not feeding your dog, to allowing them to be returned to us with fecal matter all over one of our pups. The staff was absolutely rude. Not one apology. I'm not sure if all locations are like this, but this place is absolute hot garbage. The customer service is *shockingly* terrible. Not just once, not just twice, but every single interaction I've had with them. I bought a daycare package for my two dogs (they've been a handful of times), I've left them there for boarding three times, and each time the experience manages to somehow get worse. I called one Friday night to make a daycare reservation - I was only hold for 23 MINUTES. When the girl finally came back to the phone, she didn't even apologize for the hold. I asked to make the daycare reservation for the following week and she told me it really wasn't necessary since they don't book up for daycare except around holidays. But when my husband went to drop them off, they denied us and told us they were full. I monumentally regret purchasing a daycare package here because every time I need to use it, they are ALWAYS full and my requests get denied. I work on call sometimes, so I need to be able to drop my dogs off without a weeks notice. Even when I give a full 24 hours notice - always denied. I get that in some capacity this is a me issue and not a them issue, and its for safety of the dogs, but I've taken my dogs to Y Bark Alone, Happy Tails, Watering Bowl and have never experienced this issue, especially repeatedly. You sure felt comfortable taking my money for the daycare package, without mentioning how "quickly you get full". Finally, and really the only thing that matters, I simply don't trust them with my dogs. Each time I pick my dogs up they race out of the door and pee like they've been holding it all day. Last time my dog couldn't even wait! She peed right on the asphalt in the parking lot as soon as she exited the building. It was very strange and made me feel so sad to know she had been holding it all day. The three times I've used them for boarding they've come back with a lot of extra food -- I'm talking 4 or 5 meals worth (I only pack 1 extra in case of emergencies). My dogs are VORACIOUS eaters and never not eat their food, it doesn't matter if they are in a boarding setting. There is simply no denying that they aren't being fed. Which now, in my mind, means they aren't able to freely go to the bathroom and are starving during their stay. For two of the three boarding stays, I asked for baths on the day of pickup. I even double confirmed the time I would come to pick them up in order to make sure their baths were completed. Both times the baths weren't completed, and not even an acknowledgment about it, much less an apology. I highly doubt the extra money I pay for the "gold" package does anything except take extra money. The staff is just completely rude and uncaring, and if they are that way outwardly, I can't imagine how they would be to our dogs when no one is around to watch them and hold them accountable. I just kept going back expecting that my experience was a one-off, but I'm not sure. My boss has used NLN O'Fallon and my co-worker has used NLN Valley Park - they were both indifferent. Saying this to give leverage to the idea that this could just be a location issue and not a franchise issue. Doesn't matter to me, won't use them anymore. read more

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG, DON'T GO HERE!!!! My wife and I just boarded our precious family member here for a week and were bitterly disappointed. 1. For most of the week they placed ALL dogs in a single space, in spite of having two areas for large dogs and one for small. This meant there were, minimally, 30+ dogs in a single area. We watched the webcams for extended periods of time and the overcrowding was so much that the dogs didn't really even have space to lay down and rest. 2. The people watching the dogs rarely provided any type of personal attention. It makes sense, since there were so many animal to a single human, but it was not cool for the dogs. Largely, the person was consumed with mopping up urine and feces and picking up the feces. When they weren't doing this, they were simply walking in circles looking at their phones. If you question this, I have more than 3 hours of recorded video. 3. At least three of the days, there was no point at which the dogs went outside. They were confined inside the entire time. It makes sense that most of the caretakers time revolved around mopping up pee and poop, when the dogs were never allowed to go outside to relieve themselves. 4. When we scheduled the the boarding appointment, we requested a late pick up since weren't scheduled to land at the airport until a few minutes after closing. We made sure to ask them if they were certain it was okay, because this was on 12/24, Christmas Eve. They told us there'd be a fairly significant charge, but they'd be sure someone would wait for us to arrive. Upon dropping her off, we asked to confirm the arrangement, as we wanted to be sure that a Christmas Eve late pick-up was acceptable and were assured we were fine. Upon landing back in the US around 3pm, we immediately called to ensure everything was still good, only to find out the on-duty staff were completely unaware of any late pick up requests. The manager called us back and was unacceptably rude to my wife, telling her, "This could never have happened. A late pick up needs to be approved by a manager and no late pick-ups were requested. He was very clearly trying to bully my wife. Well, this is patently untrue since I was privy to listening to all the prior conversations. Essentially, the young and clearly inexperienced manager was accusing my wife of lying, rather than ensuring his staff was appropriately trained. I understand the narcissistic defense mechanism in the face of adversity, but it's clearly not the way to treat a customer. 5. When we did pick her up (literally only 14 minutes after closing) the terrible manager barely opened the front door, didn't greet my wife, only words he spoke were our dogs name with a question mark, threw her backpack out the crack after struggling for more than 30 seconds to squeeze it through and then slammed the door shut. He then went and grabbed our dog, stuffed her through that small crack and slammed the door without a single, even fake, pleasantry. All he had to say was, "She hasn't eaten dinner". Ultimately, I understand the current staffing challenges, which may have resulted in #s 1 - 3, but I'd far prefer a more ethical and moral approach. What I mean is, instead of taking in as many animals as you can to maximize your profit during a busy period, I believe the right way to handle this situation would be to turn people away and allow them to find a situation where their beloved family member could stay in a situation in which they could receive the attention for which you're paying. I have no proof of this, but based on the experience we received, I very much doubt our dog received the "tuck in and treat" service we paid for every day. I suspect they threw her in her kennel, closed the door and didn't once consider her until the next morning. My hope in writing this is simple that anyone considering entrusting an adored pet to the Kirkwood location, thinks twice and whomever manages the person in charge on 12/24 provides career-salvaging coaching to the "gentleman" who treated my wife so profoundly poorly. I'm more than happy to discuss the accuracy of any aspect of this heartfelt review. read more

My dog loves going to this daycare! My pup is new to daycare, this was the first place we tried. The staff made sure my pup fit in and wasn't a jerk to anyone else's dog or vice versa. The staff truly love the dogs. On more than one occasion during pick up or drop off the staff is on the floor with my pup giving him snuggles and belly rubs, some know him by name, others give him his own name which doesn't bother me, but they definitely know him when he comes in, more than they know me. They also do fun holiday stuff, we have signed up for our fist one which is a Valentine's Day celebration. We also plan on signing up for the dog training class in a couple of weeks. read more

Kirkwood location is very unprofessional and unreliable .We recently started using them for our dog and choose them because they offer an early drop off at 6:30am for additional $10.Well-don't count on it!!!We brought our dog here at 6:30 several mornings and no one was there to open (or they didn't fee like opening the door before 7).We text them the night before every time as a reminder-that didn't help either.Absolutely unacceptable-I am late for my new job for the 4th time in a last week-two because of them!!! So far, it seems my baby is being watched over & the staff is very friendly to me. They told me up front they don't feed during day camp, and I was fine with that as she is trying to lose weight & has started treadmill training. I'm trusting this staff with my hearts biggest resident, so I have to believe what I'm seeing is positive or I wouldn't leave her there. We just picked up our 2 dogs, and I am so angry and frustrated. We pre-packaged and labeled their food as instructed. I sent 6 bags of food (3 for each dog) and we just picked them up and I was given 4 bags of food back ( 2 for each dog), which means our dogs were not fed! I sent no extra bags of food. I asked the front desk why our dogs didn't get fed, she said the notes said they were. So either someone working there lied and said they fed our dogs and then didn't, or someone gave our dogs someone else's food or they forgot to feed our dogs entirely. Thank goodness we didn't trust them with giving our dogs medications. Our dogs were dropped off Saturday morning at 9am and were picked up Sunday at 3:30 and were fed one time. They were also supposed to bathe our dogs and they didn't do that either. This was our first time coming to this facility and we will never be back. If your dogs are like your children like ours are I wouldn't trust them at all. read more
