Love, love, love this training facility. The facility is clean, spacious and filled with dedicated, knowledgeable staff. There's an impressive ratio of trainers to dogs and we noticed improvements in Lucy's behavior after the first 2 days. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Shannon who was Lucy's primary trainer. She was awesome. We've graduated to the weekly group lessons which are a blast. She changes up the sessions and makes them fun to keep the dogs engaged. I can hardly contain Lucy's excitement when we drive within 2 blocks of their location. This training is DEFINITELY worth the investment. I recently moved back to the area from Texas with my 2-year-old puppy, Sophie. Since I work fully in office, one of the first things I did was find a play place for her. She passed the temperament test with flying colors, so I signed up for a monthly membership and took her several days a week with no issues. Because things had gone so well, I signed her up for a week of boarding while I took a trip back to Texas to finish packing up our house. On my drive back, I called No Leash Needed, paid for her stay over the phone, and gave them an ETA for pickup so I could move quickly once I arrived -- it had already been a long day, and I still had to unload the moving truck and be up early for work. The girl who took my payment said Sophie's things would be waiting up front. When I got there, her things weren't out, and I was told she wasn't there. I explained that wasn't possible -- my family was still in Texas, and there was no one else who could have picked her up. Instead of checking, staff kept insisting she wasn't there. Eventually, someone went to look, and 15 minutes later came back out with her. I didn't think much of it at the time and went straight home since we had a busy night ahead. Once I was home and got a good look at her, I noticed several marks on the left side of her face -- chunks of fur missing and dried blood. I took pictures immediately and called No Leash Needed. The girl who answered said no one had seen anything or knew what caused it. When I said I had photos and needed to speak to a manager, she claimed both managers had already left, that she didn't know how to reach them, and that no one had their numbers. After going back and forth, she suddenly produced a number for the day manager, Savannah, and put me on hold to call her -- then hung up on me after several minutes. Since they were still open, I drove back to the facility for answers. Winter, who was working, only offered to reimburse me for that day's play and the previous night's stay. I told her I wanted the full stay reimbursed and asked again to speak with the manager she'd clearly just been on the phone with. When I still wasn't getting anywhere, I called the Rock Hill Police. No one at No Leash Needed was helpful that night. Even with police present, staff wouldn't provide manager contact info beyond names, and continued mopping floors and closing up while the officer and I stood there waiting. No one offered any real help. It was bizarre!! The next day, GM Whitney called and apologized, admitting staff had mishandled everything and lied about not being able to reach management. I told her the marks were devastating, but what upset me most was still not knowing what actually happened. She agreed and said she was disappointed in her team. I appreciated the call, but the trust was gone. Whitney was the only one who showed real concern -- everyone else seemed focused on covering themselves. She can't run the place alone, and still relies on that same staff. I hesitated to post this, but too many friends who've seen Sophie's face pushed me to warn others. Dogs are innocent, and it kills me I put her in this situation. If I had this much trouble getting answers after, I can only imagine how little help she got when it happened. read more

Do not willingly send your dog to this location of No Leash Needed. We did puppy preschool at the Hampton location and everyone was great. He learned quickly and was always happy to go. So when I tried to book him for a 4 night boarding there, I was disappointed but felt confident another location would be just as good. I can't believe how wrong I was... Sobek (my 5month old pup) goes to day camp 3-4x/week and has never been this dirty in his life. Even after a whole month! After just 4 days here he came back with his fur on the edge of matting, smelly, with signs he had peed himself and not been cleaned after. His eyes were caked with tears to the point one could not fully open. His tail had a clear spot of matted hair where he'd been chewing too! When they took him out front to me, his harness was not properly tightened for the leash position they were using and it was pulling on muscles in what I can only imagine was painful. Since we've been home he has alternated between crying and napping, not wanting to be more than a foot or two from me. I was a little concerned when I called to check in on him after his first night and they said that they have no cameras on the kennels and no one with the dogs overnight, but couldn't do anything about it while out of town and still had trust for the name brand. Love the service you provide. Very disappointed in the customer service. A few weeks ago I attempted to take advantage of the curbside service to pick up our pup as my toddler was asleep in the car. Received the auto response text and waited...and waited.... And waited. 15 minutes go by, three other customers got their dogs (all arrived after me), still no pup. Finally had to wake up my toddler (who is now crying) to go inside and collect my pup. Only to find THREE employees at the front desk laughing at some video in their computer. When I inquired as to why I had been ignored, they'd never set the alert that I was outside, seemed surprised about it, and suggested that if this happened again, to resend the pick up request. Um, NO. I shouldn't have to do that. Now today, I'm dropping off my pup and am scolded when my dog's leash lock loosens and she's running around. "Some dogs are training in here, please keep your dogs leash locked" seriously? Obviously she's excited and this didn't happen on purpose. Also, there were NO dogs training in the lobby. Give me a break. Keep offering your service, please retrain your staff. read more

My dog The Dude simply loves this place. He seriously goes crazy when we pull up trying to get out of the car! Makes me laugh every time. Special needs? They don't have my trust We boarded our dog for the first time last week for a period of 3 days. Our dog had been having stomach issues for the prior 2 weeks because she has cancer and it can upset the stomach and cause diarrhea. I had her on a special food diet and had gotten her to a good place. We asked if we could bring in supplements to her food and they said yes. We have written instructions on their form and on the tupperware bowl (chicken, rice and pumpkin). When we picked her up, my husband asked if she had any accidents and they said no. She wasn't home for 2 hours until the explosive diarrhea began....all over the house. I didn't realize what was wrong until they published her "report card" the following day in which noted she had leftovers at meal time and she enjoyed playing with her food. This dog ONLY "plays" with her food if there is nothing added to it. She'll stick her nose in the kibble and move it all around. She also never leaves leftovers if she has the good stuff added and she's on a limited amount. I don't know if this was just the case of the individual who was responsible for taking care of her or not. They all get such good reviews. But she obviously was not fed properly. She had lost weight and I am back to square 1 and being up all night with a dog with such bad diarrhea read more

The staff at No Leash Needed are amazing! My Parker is very shy and scared. They were very good with him and did not force him. The first day I had to pull him through the door, now he drags me to the door! They post plenty of pictures on their Facebook page each day. It is obvious how much he loves it by the photos. Just the fact that he lets them take a picture is proof that he feels safe with them. I appreciate that they are aware of health risks around the area. They immediately had a notice about the influenza outbreak near Chicago on their door and Facebook page. Also, when you make a reservation online, there is a question asking if your dog has been in the Chicago area along with a notice that your dog will not be allowed at their facility if it bas been in the Chicago area. read more

I absolutely adore No Leash Needed. Our Golden Retriever has been going there for 3 years and we have used both their boarding and their day care facilities. The staff is incredible and their focus is on the DOGS 100%. She is so excited to go and she does attend 2-3 days per week for daycare! They have an array of little tykes play equipment that my dog loves. They are extremely cautious to accept ONLY dogs with updated vaccines/good health and as a result our dog has NEVER been sick in her 3 years. We also use their boarding services when we are going out of town. I love that their boarding includes day care so she can romp and play all day and settle down in a very large kennel (like a cubicle) for the evening complete with beds or blankets. When I pick her up (even after a week) she is excited to see me but circles back to give love to the staff before leaving! That, to me, shows that No Leash really is a dog's haven. We recently enrolled our puppy with challenging behavior in puppy preschool. Our trainer, Kristina, was extremely helpful and patient with him. We are beginning to use the Dog Day Camp services to help socialize him. I suspect we will need more training services in the future and I feel fortunate that we can rely upon Kristina for assistance when we need it. I highly recommend NLN. read more

Trainer (Amanda) and I had a few conversations about the puppy training program, logistics and such to ensure that this course would be a good fit for my puppy. 2 hours after dropping my 12.5 week puppy off I received a phone call from Amanda's manager saying that my puppy was not eligible and would need to be picked up. The issues per Amanda's manager that made her ineligible were her age and vaccination status, both of which were discussed w Amanda ahead of time. She is 12.5 weeks old. The manager miscalculated her age saying she was 11.5 weeks old. When I corrected her, she said "well 12.5 weeks was the youngest they take puppies." Amanda said that puppies can start at 12 weeks. Also, I submitted the vaccination record from the breeder, but they require the record to be on vet letterhead. I was never told this. My puppy is scheduled for next set of vaccines this Friday- in 4 days. Amanda and I discussed this. The manager said that was not acceptable. There is some major lack of communication/information that really messed up my Monday morning. I will close with my drop off experience. It was terrible. I left there with an uneasy feeling- even called husband to express concern. There was so much loud barking. My puppy was scared and nervous with all the commotion. The lady behind the desk was rude and unkind. I will look for another place for my sweet puppy. read more

Our dog Wyat has been transformed! Christina, his trainer, worked so diligently and patiently with our 18 month old, adopted Pittbull. He had some habits and manners I thought we would never be able to change! There is nothing wrong with No Leash Needed. I don't think that our pup minded going for daycare at all, and I felt just fine (mostly) leaving him. However, my pup is my baby. My husband and I don't have children yet, so I may be a bit overprotective, but there were a few things that didn't excite me about the place. The first thing that irritated me was that when I dropped him off the first time, they took him, led him through a closed door, and then that was that. I was hoping to be able to watch him like some other facilities do in the area, but they said that maybe we could watch at pick up time. Unfortunately, because of my work schedule, I can only drop off but not pick up. My husband always does this. When I called to check on him mid-day (he has never been away from us in an unknown place like this) the guy on the phone just said, "Oh he's fine." Then silence. I assumed that he was fine, but would have loved for him to elaborate a bit more. The last thing is that every time we went (granted it was only twice but I have checked their facebook page), I asked for pictures of what my dog is doing during the day. They told me when we signed up that they try to post pictures everyday, but if you look on facebook, it is actually once in a blue moon. My husband asked when he picked up the second time as well, and they gave the same story that they gave the first time about being short staffed. Judging from their facebook page, they are short staffed A LOT, or they just don't take the time to post. My husband says that the owner took a picture on her phone and promised to email it, but she never did. Like I said, there wasn't anything glaringly WRONG with our experience here, but The Watering Bowl on Hanley has been a better fit for our pup for daycare(and for his overprotective mommy who needs daily updates on facebook!) We may consider training classes here in the future, and hopefully I can rate them a bit higher for that! read more

Before I called No Leash Needed, I had reservations about putting Nellie into training because as a pet owner, you don't like to feel like you're not in control; however, No Leash Needed understands that each dog is different and they teach the owner how to be confident with his/her dog. To begin, I brought in our dog for a training evaluation and explained to Shannon some of my concerns. Nellie is a timid girl who can be somewhat distracted and stubborn at times. She explained our options and we ended up choosing a training package that included private and group lessons. We began lessons about 4 weeks ago and we can't believe the difference! Nellie is now a joy to take on walks and she has come out of her shell little by little at No Leash Needed. She always gets excited in the car when we are heading to training to see Karen (our trainer)! We finished our private lessons and we are now enrolled in group classes. We especially like these classes because they help incorporate distractions like there would be on a walk around our neighborhood. Everyone at No Leash Needed is very friendly. I used to worry about leaving for a weekend to go out of town because I would have to ask family or friends to watch our dog, but now we have a place to bring her! I feel comfortable knowing that they understand her personality and what training methods work with her. On a side not, for the young pet owners who live somewhat paycheck to paycheck like I do, No Leash Needed was great about splitting the training payments in two. I've been taking my German Shepherd to No Leash Needed for day camp for about 7 months now and I couldn't be happier with them! Mack absolutely LOVES going! In fact, when we pull up he starts going crazy in the back seat and when I open my door to get out he tries to get out to run to the door! The staff is absolutely amazing and he couldn't love them any more. When I pick him up at the end of the day he's always so tired that he falls asleep in the car, which never happens since he loves to stick his head out the window! I run the Saint Louis Pekingese Club and last Sunday we held one of our monthly playhours at this location. What an amazing time we had! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable - the venue itself was breathtaking from a dog owner's perspective! Their indoor facility is 5000 square feet and has rubber flooring which made it perfect for our little ones running and playing - no slip and fall incidences. And they also have two outside yards with an additional 4000 square feet for our pooches to enjoy - and the grass was AstroTurf so it was easy to clean up and no mud!!! I personally liked that! There are not enough positive words to say about No Leash Needed- Rock Hill location. My dog Lola attended training there last fall and is now on a remote collar and doing great. My puppy, Ava, will finish puppy school tomorrow. She is doing awesome and it is all thanks to Kristina and the other staff members. Both dogs boarded with NLN for 11 nights. That is the longest that I have left any of my dogs over the years, but I felt completely comfortable knowing that they were in great hands, receiving great care and lots of love. All of the desk staff know my dogs by name and seem genuinely happy to see them whenever we come in for day care, boarding or training. We are moving to Colorado at the end of the month and I will be heartbroken to leave NLN. I have joked that I may drive my dogs back here when I have to travel. We just completed two weeks of training w Kristina C. at the Rockhill location and she was superb! I handed over two true to their breed -- stubborn -- adult bulldogs for some remedial (ie no manners) help. One was amenable to training and the other has all sorts of "issues". In two weeks, I both the dogs and I have made tremendous strides! Kristina is sweet, patient, and creative in her approach to the stubborn one. She was also a great teacher to the human in the room! Neither dog will win any obedience trials (but wasn't my expectation) but I am confident in my ability to further train them and they are on their way. Both have been boarded as well. Our family had an unexpected traumatic event and our very loved dog needed to be unexpectedly boarded for a large amount of time. She is as happy as the day we left her in her care. I have mixed emotions every time we would leave our dog here. While I feel like they care for the dogs, our Frenchie never came home w/o a battle scar. Bumps on his underbelly and one incident resulting in a trip to the vet for a black eye, he was tested for a scratched cornea, and puncture bites on his neck. I didn't receive an apology from them, only a "well dogs play rough" phone call the following day. They didn't even ask how our dog was... I was disappointed. I don't have children of my own so my dog is my baby and I want to be sure he is receiving the best care and being watched/take care of if he is not in our hands. I would think the owner of a doggy daycare would understand that. Too many times I felt like she was trying to push us to use other daycares and she didn't want our business. It was very strange... Also, our dog has never EVER shown signs of aggression towards other dogs (as he is socialized with neighborhood dogs on a daily basis) nor people/children of any age. The last time we took him there, they told us he received his first "strike" due to aggressive behavior. I nearly fell over and to be honest, took offense to it. It was the final straw and we have since taken our business elsewhere, and no more issues. All that being said, they were always willing to work with our schedule, which was very nice. If you aren't overly protective of your pet, I would recommend this place. It's a large facility with a great outdoor astroturf area. read more

Our dog (Janie) loves this place. The employees there know her by name (even though she isn't a day to day guest), and she always comes home happy. A good sign is when your dog gets excited to go to day camp and runs in the door. In addition - my schedule changes a good bit as I travel for my job; meetings change quickly, and my husband or I might have to put her in day camp last minute, or we will have to cancel, etc. Granted I probably shouldn't cancel last minute :) but some things just don't work out with my schedule. No Leash Needed has always been MORE than accommodating.. and have never given me any grief about our change of plans. I went to pick up my dog today after camp and they brought out a dog that was NOT my dog. I told them it was not my dog. The manager said she knew my dog and would go get her. After waiting for several minutes I knew there was in issue. I felt sick to my stomach. I asked another employee where my dog was and she said the manager is coming out. She came out only to tell me my dog was not there. She was picked up by someone else. They let someone else take my dog home! They said the woman who picked her up didn't realize she had the wrong dog? While I will never understand someone not recognizing their own dog, it is the responsibility of No Leash Needed to ensure this does not happen. They told me since the dog don't have tags they got mixed up. This is unacceptable. I will NEVER go back and would suggest avoiding this facility. read more

I have two dogs. One of them is rather shy around other dogs and I wanted to get him to overcome that as I would often find myself in situations where we'd be around other dogs and their owners. At the request of a friend, I decided to make use of No Leash Needed's Day Camp service to help my dog get over his shyness of being around other dogs. The staff was very attentive and it was a short amount of time before I noticed a marked difference in my dog's behavior around other dogs at the dog park that I frequently bring him to as well as other pet friendly public places. We take Luke, our 65 lb German Shepard/Lab Mix rescue, to No Leash Needed for day camp. He has A LOT of energy! Even with taking him for hour long walks every day, he still needed something more. We tried another business and our dog was hesitant when he dropped him off. A friend suggested No Leash Needed so we tested it out. We have been taking him there over and year, and he LOVES it! Luke knows when we turn on Manchester and starts to go in circles in the car! He cannot wait to get out and see everyone. The staff is great! They love him! We have also boarded him there.
