Natalie, the owner, doesn't have any compassion for dogs. She is in it for the money. My dog was brutalized by a husky and Natalie did nothing about it. She called me to pick up my dog, which I was planning on doing anyway. She has yet to compensate for the medical bills. Says I signed a liability waiver. Well, I don't think the waiver covers negligence, but that's what I got. Never going there again. It also says in the waiver that if the dog is hurt that it will be reported to the proper authorities. Who is that, Natalie? I don't think you did. Look at the pictures. I can't believe I haven't written a review of Bauserhaus already. Boomer (my dachshund) and I have been visiting Bauserhaus for almost 9 years. It's his home away from home. At home, Boomer is a terror, super territorial, but at Bauserhaus he's so submissive and such a good dog. I travel a ton for work and fun, and I honestly don't know what I would do without Bauserhaus. All I have to do is ask Boomer, "Do you want to go to Bauserhaus" and he comes running. He was terrified of the kennel we tried before Bauserhaus. The staff is more interested in taking good care of your dog than entertaining you at the front desk, and I'm just fine with that. The Sunday hours are so great for post-weekend pickups. I really can't rave about this place enough! read more

When I first moved to St Louis in 2012, my primary concern was finding a dog boarding facility since I was single, traveling a lot, and love my old man pup (having a dog and traveling a lot is a great reason to get married, by the way). I found Bauserhaus online and have never looked back. I drive 20 min each way, so it's a trek. I'm not one of those over-the-top dog owners that carries them in a purse, let's them on furniture, or is over protective at the park, but I do feed him $3/can dog food and supplements, so categorize me where you may. I'm picky about boarding, but only to the point that 1) my dog wants to go there and 2) we can together prevent the onset of stress-induced diarrhea. I don't care how many Kong balls they have or the color of the water bowls. Of all my visits for both day care and boarding, I have never toured the facility. I've never asked. Sure, it would be nice to see but it's not the main priority for me. My 11-going on 3 year old standard schnauzer always comes back exhausted so that's good enough for me. For boarding, I take my own pillow now (didn't used to) and all the supplements and a pill, which they have no issue giving. They've kept a few of my can lids but my fault for not asking for them back. They also didn't call when there was a diarrhea issue, which I wish they had, but I was able to deal with it upon return. Lastly, I had one experience where I had a scheduled pick up date on a Monday holiday. When I got there to pick him up, the door was locked but there were people inside. After calling 10 times, I was told they were closed. Why they never told me they weren't open that day when I booked the reservation, I don't know. It was a wasted trip and I was worried I didn't bring enough food so it was irritating, not to mention paying for another night that I had not planned. Even though I was at the door and there were people inside, I couldn't pick up the dog (I guess that's understandable?) I can understand the issues in some of these negative reviews and truthfully, no boarding facility is going to work for everyone but I do think it's worth it to give Bauserhaus a try. Day care is $20/day when you purchase 5 at once and boarding is $40/night. Note: I've heard from several people (including previous employees) that some dogs are locked up during the day and not playing. Also that there is no A/C or heat in the dog play area. I don't know if this is true or the details, I do wish they had cameras but they don't. read more

I've been using BauserHaus for my dogs almost ever since they opened. They have loved it and are so excited to go there.

We've been taking Maggie (~65 lb Doodle) for a couple of weeks and plan to continue. She's got issues with separation anxiety and is also high energy, so we knew we had to find something to help her out. So far we've taken her twice a week and she really seems to like it and we like that she's socializing more with other dogs as well as people. The employees are very friendly and know the dogs by name, which really impressed me when I first started taking her. In the tour I got to see the play areas and facilities which are all large and clean. We were able to do an orientation day where she was able to experience the place and they were able to see which group she belonged in. They separate by size but also by temperament. I really appreciated this as, while she's a large dog, she is also very submissive and can get overwhelmed if around too many large, dominant dogs. Overall very satisfied with what it's doing for the pup. read more

I guess they were ok. My dog failed his preliminary evaluation there which sucks. They said he climbed a fence to get in with other dogs. Word of mouth says they keep dogs separated by size. But when speaking to an employee this is somewhat untrue. She said they often have small dogs in the big dog pens. A couple of things bothered me with my experience. I dropped my dogs off at 7:30am. The employee said the fence climbing incident happened when she was trying to introduce him to the other dogs. During the check-in call at noon, the employee didn't say anything about this issue. And when I picked him up at 4pm, they said he was kept in a crate away from the dogs all day. If was going to sit by himself I would have liked to know right away so I could have picked him up and brought him home. They offered no advice or referrals on what I could do to alleviate the negative behavior. read more

I started taking my puppy here about two months ago. I usually take her once or twice a week mostly for socialization and play time with other dogs. Originally I had chosen this particular doggie day care because of the great reviews and recommendations from some folks at the dog park, and because of its close proximity to my home and work. However, now I wouldn't consider taking her anywhere else. First and foremost, you can tell the staff genuinely care about the dogs. They greet my baby girl like they are sincerely happy she is there! Second, the facility itself is well maintained and tastefully designed. I love the modern touches and the dogs' play area is gigantic (it's also divided into two sections for larger and smaller dogs). And last but most important, I can tell my puppy just loves to come here. Now when we pull up in the parking lot, she jumps out of the car and nearly drags me inside totally negating all the time we spend working on loose leash training :) read more

Before I got my dog I was shocked that people actually spend money on doggie day care. But then Ella came along, and I realized that she wasn't getting exercise or attention throughout the day - especially being in her crate. So I googled... googled... and googled and came across Bauser Haus. This place is sort of hard to find - just past the intersection of Manchester and Brentwood - but it's a hidden gem. Ella LOVES going there! When we pull up she can't wait to run in and when she gets home she's totally exhausted (in a good way). I've gotta admit that I've spied on her a few times with their ultra-convenient webcams and it looks like they're all having a blast. The staff knows what they're doing and are just a generally nice bunch. Plus there are package deals which make it (I think) the best price in the area. Make sure to check this place out! read more

BauserHaus offers spacious, CLEAN, well- air conditioned play areas with outdoor access as weather permits. Their pricing is extremely competitive, and I can go through my work day with the peace of knowing that my dog is having fun romping around and socializing while always under constant supervision. With its convenient location off of Manchester Rd and great package options for purchasing day passes in bulk, there's no reason to leave your dog(s) alone and bored at home. This place is the perfect place for your pooch! The owner Natalie is absolutely amazing, and her undivided love for her customers shows the minute you walk in! If you have never been to BauserHouse you are for sure missing out! They are a SERIOUS dog loving bunch! They have the largest and most centrally located facility in the St Louis metro area - and this is an honest to God statement. My dogs and I have frequented many dog facilities with our canine clubs and organizations and this one tops them all! They are the only daycare in the area with online cameras - watch your dog at play from work! BauserHaus is also a Missouri Department of Agriculture licensed animal care facility. Attending veterinarian is Brentwood Animal Hospital and their highly trained staff has completed the Red Cross Pet First Aid course. For those boarding - all dogs are assessed for socialization and play style and placed into separate compatible playgroups. Which is a very big thing for me personally since my furry ones are so small and cannot play too roughly ;) Besides the great facility and amazing staff, BauserHaus also offers friends of their business to come by on weekends and enjoy their double-gated fenced in area as an indoor dog park. I would just make sure to call beforehand to make sure what the hours are - but my little ones just love it! Natalie and her team continue to excel in my opinion. All of the staff are pleasant and friendly (clearly a special portion of the population as I am not at my best at 7 am). My dogs continue to react with enthusiasm anytime I let them out of the truck and they see where we have arrived. Luckily for me they are smallish (beagle and a Bassett) but super energetic. The wife and I love dropping the boys off on the weekend if we have a party planned for the day (say your sons 1st birthday??) as they are...well...foodies let's call it :) and will not leave guests alone :D As an added bonus they really do sleep So much better after a day of fun. And very often are tired the next morning as well. One reviewer commented they heard word of mouth that the dogs are separated by size; previously I have seen my boys on the YouTube video playing together with pups of similar size (although the Bassett thinks he is a Great Dane :D).. I know that other doggy daycare places are popping up around st Louis but we continue to drive right by them and bring our "furry babies" to Natalie and her fantastic team. read more

We've taken our doodle Sophie here a few times over the last year after having bad experiences at other kennels, and really liked the late pick up times on sundays. Overall we've been really pleased with the care they've given Sophie, and will continue to take her there in future! It's a little out of the way for us to take her for daycare, but I would recommend for daycare and boarding! I love Bauserhaus. We've been taking our dog Nico here for about two years, not much for daycare, but for boarding. Natalie is always welcoming, as is everyone else who is there. They always seem to know Nico, even though he only goes there less than 10 times a year. Makes me wonder what he gets up to that makes him so memorable. ;) One of the best things about Bauserhaus is that they are laid back yet professional, not restrictive or difficult to work with. There are no deadlines as far as when we can drop him off/pick him up and not be charged another price. A day is a day at Bauserhaus. We can drop him off Monday morning and pick him up Tuesday night and only be charged one night's boarding. That flexibility is important to us with our busy schedules. Nico is always dead tired when we take him home, which is nice for a dog his size. And it's never been confirmed, but I think he's gotten a bath there a few times. We are really thankful for Bauserhaus for helping us socialize the puppy we adopted from the APA at the end of May. Iris did well when we boarded her over the fourth of July and she always comes home happy and calm after day care but not completely wiped out, so we can still play with her and take her for walks. The staff at Bauserhaus will give you details about what puppies played with yours during the day, and if you want to peak in on your dog, they are glad to oblige you. There is a calm and soothing vibe as soon as you (and your dog) walk in the door--and staff will monitor your dog for signs she is getting tired and then give her a nap. read more

My interaction with BauserHaus lasted about 1 minute and I will never come back. My wife and I drove from Fort Leonard Wood (2 hours) to St.Louis looking for kennels to leave our dog. I asked for a tour and received the response of "we aren't doing that now". After explaining I can't come back because I live 2 hours away I was then given the response "sorry". The team at Bauserhaus has made our lives (and our new dog's life) so much easier. We got Enso from the APA just before leaving on a trip, and when we left he was not housetrained, but when we came back, the staff at Bauserhaus had him 95% of the way there. They also looked after him during the day and were able to give us very helpful feedback and guidance on behavioral issues we should work on, and other things to pay attention to. The level of supervision and attention during the day means so much to us, since we are still learning about Enso, and the insights they give us into his personality and social skills help us make him a happier and better dog at home and at play elsewhere. Bauserhaus is a truly great business where the employees and owners care deeply about the animals they care for, and I recommend them highly for both boarding and for daycare read more

The reason I never responded to Natalie's messages she sent to me after I posted my review was because she NEVER addressed any of the incredible rude things she said to me on the phone that day. But instead just told me I was overreacting, never apologized for what she said, never addressed what she said and she just turned everything around on me being at fault. Never addressed why she said the rude things such as "it sounds like you care more about your flight than your dog" Why would I want to bring my dog back to someplace that can't handle emergency situations? If you knew that I was on my way to the airport why did you demand that I come pick my dog up? why not handle the situation. BTW... she did not call the person who came and picked up my dog. I called that person when they were at work and I was crying upset and they had to leave work on their lunch break to come get Emma. The person who came and got Emma was not listed as an emergency contact as when I filled that information out in 2012 I didn't even know that person. AGAIN, she is making stuff up to try to make herself look good. ALSO, regarding the cone-- I NEVER REFUSED TO GIVE MY DOG A CONE. The vet did not say that- I was there yesterday and I actually talked to him about it. I also DID give you a cone... which you clearly ignored that and are making things up about me. My dog did not like the black cone they gave her, she was given a different type of cone- which I LITERALLY HANDED TO NATALIE AND WAS TRYING TO TELL HER ABOUT EVERYTHING WHEN SHE BLEW ME OFF AND TOLD ME TO JUST WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN ON THE PAPER. This is why I never responded to your rude emails. You are literally MAKING things up and NEVER apologized for telling me that I care more about my flight than I do about my dog. That's appalling and if you KNEW anything about me, you would know I care deeply about my dog and my ENTIRE trip was me stressing and crying about my dog and the way you treated me. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. You just don't talk to customers that way- and then turn around and blame them for everything and LIE about certain things. Me and my pups went for a trial run to day care and to say it was amazing is an understatement! The people here are SO nice and my pups are exhausted! You even get to see your dogs through a window while they play! My Walter was going down a little slide and it was the best thing I've ever seen! I HIGHLY recommend this place! The customer service at Bauserhaus is the WORST I have ever encountered in my entire 32 years of life. After seeing that Webster Groves had it's own Doggie Daycare, I excitedly called to make an appointment for my adopted dog and my foster puppy. I had never taken my dogs to daycare before, but know a lot of people who go to the Watering Bowl. Since the Watering Bowl is a bit of a drive for me, I was so excited to find one right around the corner. I arrived at Bauserhaus on the scheduled morning. I took my dog in and explained that my foster had actually been adopted a few days prior but that I had brought my other dog. They said it would be fine to bring her in instead. I mentioned that this was our first ever daycare trip... They did not ask me about my dogs nor did they offer any information about their business. I asked for a tour and they said I could have one upon pick up (which was never honored btw). I already felt at this point something was "off" but thought that maybe they were just better with dogs than people... and if my dogs had a good time that day, who cares, right? So with a bad "taste in my mouth", I asked them to give me a call to let me know how my pups were doing. They called me about an hour and a half later asking me to pick up my dogs because my females vaccines had expired either that day or the day before. I was there within 10 minutes and said I was sorry at least twice. They rushed the dogs out to me. They offered NO information. I had to ask how my male did and they said "he passed the assessment and was in the room playing." Then I had to ask about rates and appointments. I truly felt as if they just wanted me gone. I left, and as soon as I got home, called my vet and made an appt to get the vaccines up to date. We went to the vet the very next day in anticipation of a full day of doggie daycare. This is where it got really weird... The owner sent my husband a private FB message that said "I see you own a small business. And you know how hard it is? And you're wasting the time of other small businesses by taking your dogs for a free day of daycare with no intention of patronizing that establishment?..." WHAT?!! I called Bauserhaus twice and they refused to pick up my call. I also sent two emails (obviously I was less than happy at this point) asking for an explanation and plainly expressing my anger over her rude message. She NEVER got back to me. NEVER gave us an explanation. Let's just say for the sake of argument that for some reason she did not think I was coming back. Do you think maybe she could have called me and something like this: "Thanks for bringing your dogs in the other day. We hope that you will bring them back. Please let us know if there is anything we can do, or answer any questions, to ensure your business". Instead she ACCUSED us of "using" her, very rudely I might add. And after accusing us, never offered an explanation for her unsightly behavior. In mid-July, The Watering Bowl is opening a location within a mile of Bauserhaus. Not only will I be taking my dogs there. but I am sure that they will be putting Bauserhaus out of business in no time given their terrible business model. (PS I have not yet been to the Watering Bowl, but I have told A LOT of people about this experience and they assure me that the Watering Bowl offers tours and is super friendly). read more

BEWARE! Took my 6 month old, friendly puppy there for an assessment. She was there for four hours and passed with great reviews. They said they loved having her and wanted her to come back soon. I started asking questions about overnight visits, crating dogs, air conditioning, ect. and she told me that I had too many questions and I am not allowed to bring my dog back. I COULD NOT MAKE THIS UP! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IMAGINABLE! What made me so upset was that all I wanted was to see the facility and where my dog would be for 48 hours and they were so hesitant and shady that it made me feel uneasy about leaving a loved one there for even a second. We were nervous about dropping off our 2 year old German Shepherd/Border Collie off at a kennel for 3 weeks, but BauserHaus seemed like they'd take good care of her so we chose to go with them. So glad we did! Our dog came back after the first orientation very happy and tired, and when we brought her back a week later to board her, she immediately recognized a staff member and got all excited. This was a good sign since she's pretty timid! When we came to pick her up after three weeks, she was skinnier and super muscular from all the hours of playing everyday! She was groomed with her nails trimmed, and had obviously had a great time hanging with the staff and other pups. The owner, Natalie, went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and that our pup was loved. We'll definitely board our dog here again if we ever need to! Thanks BauserHaus! read more

My dog loves it here - as soon as I get into the parking lot my dog tries to pull me inside as fast as possible. He always comes home super tired and happy after a day of daycare. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I also like that when I travel out of town and I board my dog here, he gets to play with other dogs all day instead of just sitting alone in a room like at some other boarding facilities I've previously used. Now BauserHaus is the only daycare or boarding we use. I also like watching him on the webcams :) Highly recommended! I'm pretty sure the first assessment day is free too so I highly recommend every dog owner in the area tries it at least once. read more

The BauserHaus may be a decent facility but their customer service is horrible. The women we talked with at the front desk was rude. They do not have the video camera that they advertise anymore and she would not let us stay and watch our dogs play. She simply stated it your not comfortable leaving your dogs here then don't. We didn't and were able to find another boarder with a staff that was friendlier. They let us watch our pups mingle with the other dogs which is all we wanted to do. Just wondering what they are hiding there. This was the first time our dogs were being boarded and we wanted to see how they would react to the playtime with the other dogs. I'm sure our dogs would have been fine there but why can't you get good customer service anymore. It seems that people just don't care. read more

I brought my dog to Bauserhaus for a day of doggie daycare. When I walked in, the staff was cold and seemed unwilling to answer my questions. I was very surprised because I had tried out two of St. Louis' other doggie daycare facilities (The Watering Bowl and K9 Athletic Club) and any time I went, the staff was so happy and considerate. Bauserhaus also lacked details on how my dog did after her first day, which is always my favorite part. I'm not going there again and I wouldn't suggest anyone else to. K9 Athletic Club and The Watering Bowl are way higher in quality, at least as far as customer service goes. read more

However, we are upset that their website advertises the fact that they are the only dog-daycare in STL with live camera so you can watch your dog live. We first started coming many months ago and were told "It is being repaired." Since then, it is still broken. Then she just stood there staring at me and didn't offer to make an appointment or anything. I have been on the search for a daycare/boarding place since moving to St. Louis. My little yorkie has TONS of energy and it was getting to the point of me being up all night as he was never tired or sleeping. I started looking for places and I took my little guy here after having a very uncomfortable experience at another daycare/boarding place in St. Louis. Before I took him for his first "initial visit" I dropped in randomly to scope the place out. The lady who greeted me was friendly and talked to me about the different areas, ratio of dogs to people watching them, and made me feel so comfortable. Additionally, she walked me back to show the area through a window so I could see the place and the dogs being watched. I felt comfortable enough that I brought him back a few days later for his 'initial visit" and first daycare day and everything went fantastic. The owner had me put my little guy (4lbs) on the ground to watch me leave so he would know I had left and wouldn't be looking for me all day. I thought that was clever and felt great leaving him. I called around mid day to check in and the informed me he was adjusting well and doing great. When I picked him up that night around 5 he was in good spirits. After getting him home he immediately went to his basket and went to sleep. NEVER has that happened. He always wants to follow me around to see what is going on, but he was so exhausted after a FUN day at BauserHaus that he just wanted to sleep. Later that night when it was time for bed, I had to wake him up to go outside and he slept all night long! He plays hard has fun and seems to get along with other dogs well. We've also used the boarding service and they take great care of my fur baby. I can go on vacation without any worries. AMAZING people and facility for the pups. The boys start getting super excited as soon as I turn in on the road to BauserHaus. The staff is very professional, and accommodating, and caring; they love dogs and you can tell. And I'm that customer most service businesses hate...last minute arrival, late, requesting extended stays...I throw it all at them, and they always say "no problem", they are unshakeable! :) And most of all...my dogs LOVE their stay. After boarding our family member for 10 days and paying $350 for "her care" We picked her up and noticed that her front and rear paws were inflamed and bleeding. No one bothered to pay attention to the fact that she had been chewing and licking on herself for 10 days nor did anyone mention anything when my son picked her up. We took her to our vet immediately and she was given a steroid shot, steroid medication, antibiotics and a cone. No resolution was offered by Natalie other than we have told you before that she has anxiety! This is unacceptable and negligent on the part of Bauserhaus. We will never take her there again nor will we recommend any pet owners take their pet there! If I could give less than a star I would! read more
