They set clear expectations of the grooming outcome. I wanted to keep her skirt a little longer but since she was matted under her legs, we were unable to keep it. It's so difficult to find a consistent grooming experience in this area conveniently located to me. I've been to Amanda's 2s and have found the quality of grooming to be good. The hours are a bit of a stretch for people who work longer hours as they close at 5... I feel like the groomers here do care about the well being and care of dogs. Prices are pretty much comparable to other groomers in the area. I have a Scottie and a Westie which are breeds with specific style cut requirements and they do a good job on them to match the expected norms. We've taken our dogs to Amanda's on multiple occasions and have never had any real issues until recently. The day after our dog was groomed, we noticed a large cut on his inner thigh. The hair around the area had been clipped so the groomer must have noticed it. While I'm not sure if he was cut at the groomer, I'm shocked that no one said anything to me about it! We had to take our pup to the Emergency the next day, and he had to have surgery on it a few days later. We won't be going back. read more

I highly recommend Amanda's grooming. It's great that they have an early drop off and can leave your pet there for the day. My two dogs come out looking beautiful every time. I love that Amanda's grooming, also works as a doggy daycare/boarding facility and kennel. They treat your dog like a prince or princess (for the most part). I think Amanda's grooming is ok for a small downtown Webster shop but in retrospect and looking at the big picture and all your St. Louis grooming options it's substandard. They are so many doggy spas that treat your canine as royalty as well, for cheaper, better amenities and doing a better job. They don't do teeth cleaning, nail trimmings or ear cleaning (at least they didn't with my Penelope)! My first 2 times here they did a above average job grooming my senior pet despite the lack of amenities and strong smell of canine defecation I still liked the staff and the job they did. The 3rd time she asked if I wanted the same usual cut, they didn't accomplish the same cut, so I called back that evening and they were of course closed for the weekend. I took my dog back to get it evened out and fixed and I got my Penelope back with dog food on her jowl and ears, a botchy trim And dandruff on her back. I like them for what they are "ok grooming" but I want something more for my pups! read more

I have been going to Amanda's Grooming for years now. Originally, I took my elderly dog to her to be bathed and have her nails trimmed, something that she wouldn't let anyone else do. Not only did "D" have absolutely no problem with Amanda trimming her nails, but she would pull me across the street to get in to play with her new friends. After "D" died we rescued an Akita mix. "S" is not exactly dog friendly and terrified of everyone. But, once again, she is overly excited when we pull up to the shop and has actually made friends there. I will not only continue to bring my pets to Amanda but would recommend anyone, even those with rescue pups. The way she communicates with them is nothing short of amazing! read more

I had heard wonderful things about Amanda's from friends, and after recently injuring my hand, I decided to give in and take my 90 lb. chow/akita puppy to the groomers. Charlie, my dog, had only been to a groomers once prior to going to Amanda's, 3 years ago and the cost was over $100! Needless to say, I was prepared to spend another $100 at Amanda's (if not more.) I was floored to find out Amanda's was only $57! On top of the price being right, Amanda's groomers were professional and fell in love with Charlie the moment he walked through the door! On top of being impressed with the staff's friendliness and knowledge, Charlie got more than just a bath! In addition to a wash and dry, he also recieved a deep conditioner, de-shedding treatment, trimmed nails and clean ears!!! When I came to pick him up 6 hours later (yes, you can leave your dog there while you have to go to work) his coat was shining brilliantly and they even gave him the cutest collar cover (I assume to make him comfy while they had to chain him.) I wish I could give Amanda's 10 stars! read more

My rescue All New Hope Rescue has used Amandas Grooming for several years and she goes above and beyond for our rescued pets. Most have never seen a groomer, are very scared and she will give me real assessments on temperment , ect in relation to grooming. She also goes out of her way to calm nervous dogs and knows techniques to ensure that they continue on a path to long term successful grooming.
