Reasonable prices, cheaper than most bars. Bring your own music! CDs are your best bet. I made 3 and had them on rotation for the 3 hour party cruise. Can't wait to go again!

It really was a unique day on the water. The crew (Connor, Kennedy, and Adam) were outstanding. They were professional, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable. They shared interesting information throughout the tour without ever making it feel like a lecture, and they were great with the children. What stood out even more is that they are genuine nature people who truly care about the environment. They showed deep respect for the animals at all times, and at one point they even stopped the boat to pick up plastic waste floating in the sea. That kind of care and responsibility deserves real respect. The trip is definitely worth every penny. As a perfect finishing touch, we received free photos of the wildlife by email afterward, which was a wonderful surprise. A huge thank you to the entire team for such an enjoyable and well-run day. You can move around the boat and staff announce which way to look to see the whales. Our last whale sighted put in a show jumping out of the water and spraying from his spout and beautiful dives showing his tail. One whale swam under our boat and my husband was able to look down his spout. Dress warm and bring a stocking cap and gloves. It gets chilly on the open boat.

Adam however called to advise us that winds were up so we weren't able to go out again. Highly recommended fishing charter righ in the inner harbor of Victoria. Would have given them a higher rating but the fish processing store they recommended didn't seem to know what they were doing and tried to short us four fillets. They eventually said I had the full amount when I came to pay but when I opened the sealed container after flying home, we were shorted 2 fillets. I do not recommend the fish processing on the Fisherman's wharf.

The captain, first mate, and naturalists were nice, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and just fun. Bottomline, this is what you are paying for. Hopefully, you see whales but the company cannot control the wildlife. The idea is to have a good time regardless of what nature has to throw at you. For reference, the boat ride takes a lot longer than the actual viewing so the crew being entertaining is more important. We had a great time.

This review is for the hop-on hop-off bus that leaves from the Inner Harbour in front of the…read moreEmpress Hotel. We got there around 11:45 am on a weekday and bought tickets for the bus. We paid $173 total ($60 per adult, $39 for our teen, and the rest for our tween), and they gave us brochures outlining the route and stops, plus one timetable as they were almost out. That's when we realized the bus frequency is every hour, and not every 15 minutes. The last bus was at 5:30 pm. Fortunately, they had a bus scheduled to run at the half hour mark during summers (10, noon and 2), so we would not need to wait for an hour every time we disembarked. The long gap between busses meant we had to restrict the number of places we hopped off - we chose to see the Songhees lookout on the other side of the water, and take a lunch stop in Oak Bay Village. Of the places we'd originally planned to see, we ended up skipping Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, and Beacon Hill Park (with its 150+ feet-tall totem pole). Many of the other places on the "itinerary" were either closed or obvious tourist traps. The busses are double-deckers and are fairly comfortable - some have open roofs, others don't. They tend to run about 5-10 minutes behind schedule. Service level was mixed. We got one nice tour guide, and a rude one who chastised us for all the things we MAY do on the journey (like throw trash everywhere instead of in the bin!), even before the bus had departed the starting point. Verdict - overpriced and not worth wasting a day of precious vacation time on. Wish we had taken a cab or water taxi instead and visited just the places we wanted to see.
