We had heard a lot about No Name Pub and were excited to try it, but unfortunately it was the biggest disappointment of our trip. I'm not a picky eater by any means, but the food was extremely underwhelming. I ordered the burger, and it had almost no flavor. My wife ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and it was topped with what tasted like individually wrapped processed cheese, which really took away from the sandwich. Our soft drinks were flat and served in very small plastic cups. For about $70 for two entrées and an appetizer, we expected much better quality. The outdoor seating was covered with picnic tables, which was a nice break from the Florida sun and probably the most comfortable part of the meal. The atmosphere, however, wasn't what we expected. The staff spent much of the time sitting at a nearby table using profanity, and we never felt particularly welcome. As visitors, we got the impression that locals were the priority and tourists were just passing through. The one bright spot was the property itself. Seeing the Key deer and colorful chameleons wandering around made for some great photos and was honestly the highlight of our visit. Maybe this is a better stop if you're looking for a place to grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere, but based on our experience, we wouldn't come back for the food. read more

OK, I get it... Place has been there for a long time, it has dollar bills all over the walls, (which is pretty cool) food's OK... My gripe is everything is served on plastic plates, even the beer came in a little tiny plastic cup, plastic forks, knives and, it felt like being in third grade in the school cafeteria. While it is not expensive, it's not cheap either. for me plastic cutlery cheapened the experience. read more

OK. First of all, come here for a nice cold beer (or more), the atmosphere, and lure of this old place with NO NAME that feels like the last place on earth at the end of the long windy road. Deer roam the streets and surrounding exterior of the building at dusk and beyond. SIT AT THE BAR. Buy the souvenir glass which includes your first beer. Refills cost less. Pizza was solid. This is definitely a hole in the wall gem. Off the beaten path so make sure the drive slow and avoid the key deer which are adorable. You wait outside until the server comes and gets you. Known for their pizza the fish dip was the best I ever had in the Cuban sandwich was to die for. read more

No Name Pub felt like a true experience! From the moment you pull up and see the iconic sign (you found it), you're in for a treat. We were shocked when we walked in and saw the interior- that's a lot of dollar bills! We were told it would be a short wait and spent a few minutes at the outside (but covered) tiki bar before being seating. The staff were all very nice and friendly, holding doors and asking us how our night was going. We ordered and the food came within 10 minutes. The pizza has been called the best pizza in the country, and it was good! A dense, bready crust held mounds of toppings. You could tell it was made there, which I loved. The Cuban and meatball sub were both delicious, and the silver dollar potatoes were incredible- I want all potatoes to be like that from now on! Even if the food was crap, it was worth it to spend some time in this quirky bar. Dollar bills are stapled to every spare piece of real estate and illuminated with Christmas lights. It's an experience! I'm glad we stopped by and could see myself coming all the time if I was a local. It's simple food done really well. read more

The No Name Pub on Big Pine Key was a side trip on our way to Key West, a friend told us that it was worth the 2 1/2 mile detour. When we were there it was a small local feeling bar with a unique atmosphere thousands of dollar bills hanging from the ceiling inside and a palm tree shaded outdoor dining area, where you can eat, drink and spend some time with the local Key deer. The food was very good and the beer was cold. I highly recommend that if you're heading to Key West make the short side trip for lunch at the No Name Pub. read more

It's a historical place. Check. Ambiance. Check. The waitress was very nice. Check. However, let it be known it is a bit of a detour from the 1 and most likely a wait outside if you arrive around lunch time (if you're the type who likes to eat in the middle of the day). While at it, try not to hit any deer (there are some plenty and they are not shy). Importantly, the food is NOT worth the wait. Also, dinner served on styrofoam plates, plastic cutlery and all drinks in plastic cups creates a real cheap experience. Not sure if the Keys have an indefinite capacity garbage belt? Saturday night at No Name pub , yes we found it . We sat at the bar with Abby as our server and she anticipated our every move , recommended beers , ( no name amber was very good ) and sangria as well as pina colada . We started with best conch fritters I've had in some time , tender with lots of conch . Abby recommends the Thai chili sauce for dipping . We added pizza , pink shrimp key west style for me w extra garlic, and Hawaiian for my bride . Both were excellent, we ordered the 8 inch and couldn't finish them . It may have no name (although "No Name" is a name, of sorts) but it's definitely not unknown. This pub/restaurant clearly draws locals and repeat customers. And, surprisingly, it's totally kid friendly. They also have a pretty cool little gift shop inside the front entrance. Incidentally, on your way here, keep an eye out for the petite but very beautiful (and EXTREMELY endangered) Key Deer. There are only a few hundred of these precious animals left on the planet and we saw several of them near the restaurant. They are obviously used to humans and are not scared of people, which probably isn't a good thing. And the No Name Pub is located in Big Pine Key and NOT in No Name Key. I don't believe anyone--other than Key Deer--lives on No Name Key. Expect a wait. I do not believe they take reservations. We waited about 25 minutes or so for our table. We started with the Peel 'n' Eat Shrimp and, aside from having to clean out a couple of them, they were juicy and delicious. Pizzas are definitely a good choice here and the one we got (the Meathead--pepperoni, sausage, ham, meatballs and bacon) was big, hearty, and full of flavor. We ate the whole thing. The No Name Amber on draft was good and cold. Of course, I had to get the souvenir pint glass. Service was friendly and on the spot. Oh, and don't forget to bring a dollar bill and a Sharpie. This is a fun stop while in the Keys. If I'm not mistaken it's the oldest or one of the oldest bars and it shows by how many dollar bills they have accumulated throughout the years stuck to the walls, ceiling and anywhere else they could fit them. We saw one signed from just two days before we were there. Should have looked more closely to see the oldest one we could find. Maybe a fun game for the next time we're there. The place is small, dimmed, bar in the middle, beer and wine only. Menu is good to find something for everyone but we were recommended the pizza so we went with that. It is made to order, so it takes 25 to 30 mins to get it but worth it. They even have some interesting topping ones if you are feeling adventurous. read more

We came here to grab a bite to eat. It wasn't very busy. At the entrance was a sign, "Please Wait Here for Host." We waited a few minutes, but no host showed up. I poked my head in to let them know we were here and a lady tells me to go back outside. So I do. A few minutes later a couple walks up and goes inside. An older lady notices them, asks them if they need a table, and quickly ushers them away. Then she noticed us in the doorway and finally gave us a table. You would think the first lady could have at least gotten the host when I asked the first time? I think this happens a lot from the other reviews. Our server was nice. We got a Buffalo chicken pizza. It was bland; didn't taste anything like Buffalo chicken, just cheese. The one redeeming thing about this joint is its atmosphere; the inside with all the dollar bills just exudes a cool vibe. It's kind of like being in a cave. I don't know if I'd come back, but if I did I think I'd get the nachos or pepperoni pizza. Those are hard to mess up. read more

There were also Key deer right outside the restaurant which was neat. The food is just okay. Lots of medium quality fried options and pizza. I have wanted to stop by this out-of-the-way bar for years...FINALLY, I can check this most awesome little dive bar off my list. And, let me tell you it didnt disappoint! They had a very warm and friendly staff greeting us at the door. The bartender was chatty without being overbearing. We sat the bar and ordered up a couple Bloody Mary's and a sidecar of draft beer to share. Very tasty drinks without too much salt and just the perfect amount of tang and spice. The inside seating isn't huge but they have a very large tiki bar out back that I'm sure can get rocking with a big crowd. Interestingly, they have 1000's of one-dollar bills signed and stappled to just about anywhere you can imagine on the physical walls and ceilings of the bar. I'm not sure of why they do this but it seems to be popular with bars in the Keys. Met some nice people there and most especially a former MSU Spartan Football player form the early 1970's. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal; however, No Name Pub is apparently known for their pizza. We decided to drive down to Big Pine Key from Islamorada (about an hour drive) and see the key deer and have a late lunch at the No Name Pub. Points of interest: * We saw a dozen or so key deer as we were driving through the neighborhood of Big Pine on our way to No Name. They were not afraid of us and we got some cute pics from the car. * No Name only serves beer and wine. That was fine for us. * The inside looked and smelled clean. No strong bleach or stale beer smell. We were not sure what to expect from a pub. * The inside area is rather small but they do have an outside area as well. * Two surprises. The first was our waitress, Katie. She was fun, energetic, and lots of personality. She turned a good experience into a great experience. We brought dollar bills to sign and staple to the walls. She brought out a box of colorful highlighters to customize them. She also gave us some good recommendations on food. * The second surprise was the food. Based on Katie's recommendations we order the fish dip and chicken wings (bourbon glaze). Both might have been the best we've ever had. Really good. Other items (like their pizza) looked real good as well. The table next to us had some positive comments on it. As most people know before you go there that there are thousands of dollar bills stapled to the walls, ceilings, columns, and beams. It is amazing seeing so many. A must visit! This bar is set on the back of big pine key towards no name key. The bar is decent sized but always full. We had to wait around 45 min for a table on a mid week early afternoon. They have a huge tiki patio area in the back which wasn't fully staffed when we were there but we got to wait there with drinks since we got caught in a downpour. Waitresses were all very nice and were busting their butts serving people. Only exception is the bartender. When we tried to grab drinks while we waited we missed the sign for where to order (I mean the place is covers in dollar bills so not easy to see all the signs) and she was just rude but, we got our drinks and got over it. Everybody has a bad day now and then. Food is good as well for a bar spot. This is a great spot to check out just for the experience! read more

The No Name Pub should seriously consider renaming itself "No Service Pub." There was a sign outside instructing guests to check in with the hostess to be served. We followed the rules like responsible adults and checked in. Turns out, that was where the system ended. Our name was never written down. We stood outside for about 15 minutes, watching people who arrived after us get seated one by one, like we were invisible or part of an endurance test. Naturally, we went back to the hostess to check in again, since apparently existing quietly wasn't working. That's when we were treated like we were the problem. Somehow we became the villains for politely asking if we were actually on the list that no one told us didn't exist. When we finally went inside to the bar, we were yelled at for not waiting outside. Which we did. For 15 minutes. Apparently that was wrong too. At this point it felt less like dining out and more like failing a pop quiz we didn't know we were taking. The overall vibe was very much "we don't want you here," which is a bold choice for a business that relies on customers. Now, the food. Thirty dollars a plate for food that had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not salt, not pepper, not even a whisper of flavor. I've had more exciting meals during power outages. Every bite tasted like it was prepared with a deep fear of spices and a personal vendetta against taste buds. Between the chaotic seating process, being scolded for following instructions, and paying premium prices for food that tasted like disappointment, I truly wish I could give less than one star. Unfortunately, that option doesn't exist. Much like the seasoning. Would not recommend unless you enjoy confusion, confrontation, and paying top dollar for food that tastes like it gave up. read more

We are frequently visiting No Name mainly for the Meat Head pizza which is awesome. This last time we were greeted at the door by Popeye who was an exceptionally friendly and helpful. He also went out of his way with everyone who came through. Made that visit better than all of the other visits we have had. Sometimes the little things mean a lot. read more

No Name Pub is a legendary icon of the area. One step inside, and you'll immediately know why. Every inch of the place is solidly covered with one-dollar bills, from the ceilings to the walls, everywhere, with no space untouched. Each bill is left by a patron with a writing on each. No Name Pub is more than a pub. It's also a brewery. I had one of their beers and one of their ales and both were very good. They do not sell hard liquor. They also have a limited food menu with their specialty being pizza. But they also have burgers, a good homemade Key Lime pie dessert, varying sandwiches, a conch chowder, chili, etc. I, unfortunately, went for the fried clam strips which were overly greasy, overly breaded, tough, and chewy. My partner, the wise person that he is, merely got a burger, always a safe bet, and said it was delicious. No Name Pub is way out in the boondocks near nothing, and a devil of a place to find, but being so unique, people seek it out and find it. You should do it. It's worth it. read more

A semi random spot was well worth going a little off the beaten path. We were on our way to key west, as one is want to do. I had a spot tagged for years and I wasn't 100% sure why, but we drove up and off the main drag to check out No Name Pub. I didn't know later but we got lucky it wasn't a popular time of day. we pop in and got a table right away. When we walked in it took a minute for the eyes to adjust to the darker interior. after that minute though things came into vision. tens of thousands of dollar bills were attached to all walls and ceiling. Since we didn't know this was going to be, it was surprising. next to our table one bill was dated just a couple days before. I realized that along the wall many of the bills were a second layer of bills even. pretty cool. Our drinks were out pretty quick and then our sandwiches soon after. It was good drinks, pretty darn good food. But the out of the way vibe was solid. There isn't a lot of other options right around this part of the keys, so its easily the best spot I have seen in those parts. read more
