I'm a bit disappointed and have to knock down 1 star. I moved to the bay area (Nor Cal) and only frequent SoCal so often. With summer coming along and me getting pastier and whiter the longer I stay in the bay I really wanted to make a trip to No Sand Tan one of the weekends I was in town. One of the reasons I choose No Sand Tan over other tanning salons is because of their awesome hours. They open early and close late. I had gone in 05/13 and got at the place at 3:50pm and they were closed. I was so disappointed. I just finished worked and this was the only availability I had. 10 minutes would have been enough considering the Matrix I do is only 12 minutes for the session, btu I was only planning on 10 minutes since it's been so long. I guess this may not be enough to knock a star down for some of you, but I do expect locations to stay available and open at their respective times. :(((( I'm still white and very sad. I can't believe how long I've been coming here and I've finally gotten around to leaving a review! I first started coming when it was a much larger location. It was nice but I personally like it better now. I've had spray tans done here in the past and have never been disappointed. The girls make sure your are well informed of the procedure and also instruct you on how to care for it afterward. During my more recent visits I became curious of the wraps that are oh so popular these days. Natalie was happy to explain it in great detail so, I sprung for a package. Why not right? Can't say that I've seen a huge difference but it's obvious that you DO sweat. Since they have downsized, it obvious they are a lot more busy. Each time I've come there are usually people waiting. I usually tan elsewhere but was in the area and decided to try this place out due to the great reviews. I know everyone is raving about the Matrix bed but that's not the one I used. I did one session in the stand up tanning and I was not impressed. The machines were old and very small. The inside was lined with UV lights and covered in a metal "cage". There was no handle and I had to grab the metal cage to close the door. I did 9 minutes and got burned. The place I usually go to has newer beds with clear plastic surrounding the UV lights and actual handles you can grab to shut door. It's roomier. I usually spend 11 minutes with no burn. read more

Was my first time visiting a tanning salon in a long while. The two ladies at the front desk were friendly and welcomed all my questions. One of them even put up with my indecision over choosing a package. There was a special on Yelp for $25 for a $40 credit toward services. I ended up going with the high-pressure beds, bought 15 sessions and got 3 free. So far I am three sessions in and my tan is coming along nicely. Thumbs up! read more

I called to inquire about the custom airbrush tanning and spoke to Becca. She was very patient with my questions and concerns, and assured me that I would not at all come out orange. Upon arriving, Becca was indeed patient, sweet, and made me feel at ease. However, and unfortunately, I can't speak positively of the end result. As my good friend's husband said upon seeing me, "You look very orange." (Even though I had followed her instructions to a tee) I feel like it was a waste of my money, time, and energy, and can't wait until this coloring completely washes off so I can stop looking like a cross between an Oompa Loopma and Donald Trump. read more

I have been here a few times in the past and every time I ask myself why I go back. I get airbrush tans quite often but for some reason this salon always leaves me orange and blotchy. It's convenient which is why I come back but after this last one there I will never go back. I am super dark Oompa Loompa looking on my ankles and armpits. It's embarrassing. No Sand Tan is a great one stop shop for a natural looking spray tan! I tried them out through a Groupon I purchased (which by the way was a really great deal) and was pleasantly pleased with the results. I got the VersaSpa Pro spray tan and chose to go for a bronze glow in a level 2 from the 1 - 4 shade range. I had a commercial shoot that day that involved being in a pool, so I wasn't able to wait the recommended 6 hr minimum of letting the tan set. With that being said, my spray tan still looked very natural and saturated well into my skin to where it was pretty resistant from fading when I was in the pool. I will definitely be returning here and next time get sprayed 24 hrs in advance with a level 3! read more

I've been to a few tanning salons and this one is by far the most comfortable and convenient. I went in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment and did not have to wait. The girl at the front desk is super sweet and helpful. She will give you all the information you need to know about their products and services without pushing you to buy expensive products or packages (like Sun Works across the street). The Mystic process was a bit challenging and really didn't come out the way I wanted. It was a bit uneven, blotchy, and streaked in some areas. However, what really made me a fan was the fact that the girl in the front took the time to wipe down my hands and feet before I left so I would not be stained and uneven. 5 star service but minus 1 for the streaky spray down. read more

I've had Lily do my spray tan a couple times now and loved it. She was so great and made it a great experience. The first time I met her at a hair salon, but the second time she came to my home. This made it super easy for me and my schedule. The second spray tan was actually for my wedding. It was the perfect shade and I didn't look over-tanned or orange at all. She also answered any questions I had and she gave me her personal # in case I had any additional questions later. She was always super quick to reply which is so refreshing. Loved the body wrap! Purchased a Groupon and made the appointment. Online booking was prompted immediately after buying the Groupon. I called to confirm my appointment and apparently, the employee wasn't aware of this service lol, but yes, it worked because she saw me on the schedule :)/ Arrived to be greeted by Jannell (sp?). She prepped the heating pads and didn't start me on them until they were fully heated. I appreciated how she wanted me to get the full experience, instead of starting my time while the pads are still heating up. Super ethical business practice! The only suggestion I have is that perhaps next time, the pads can be heated prior to the client's arrival. Since I had an appointment, they knew I was going to be there, so instead of me waiting about 20 min for the pads to fully heat, maybe they could start the heating process 10 min before a client's arrival so the client only has to wait 10 min. I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind. Jannell kept me company and chatted with me about her knowledge on skin care. She was so sweet! The wrap was really great. I told Jannell that I had really bad shoulder/neck pain from stress, and she gave me the option of placing the arm wraps on my neck/shoulder/upper back instead. YES, it worked so well and I felt so relaxed! The last 10 min got really hot, but fight through it! The rooms aren't enclosed as the walls don't touch all the way up to the top. At first, I didn't think i was going to be able to nap, but either because I was so relaxed, or because I was exhausted, I still got a good nap in despite clients walking in and out of the business and chatting it up. I love No Sand Tan. Janelle is amazing - knowledgeable and has a steady hand. I bought a 3 spray tan bundle as I had fall events including piloting it for my wedding. The first formula wasn't the right fit for me and so the second time I went in I asked if she could use another. She did - an organic formula - and it looked natural. I have been getting spray tans here for many years now. I trust them with all my special occasions such as my bridal shower, wedding, birthdays and family photo shoots! I get the express tan and I loveeeee it! I went on hiatus for a while when i moved up to the Bay Area but I was so happy when I moved back down here to see that this spot was still around and better than ever. They offer a wide array of options for bed tanning, versa or airbrush tanning, body wraps, teeth whitening... I use the matrix which their prices are expensive for but they are so worth it. I love the results I get and the bed is typically available when I call day of. Every girl who works here is such a sweetheart and I have never had a bad experience with any of the staff. Their monthly specials are really what makes them stand out. You can get packages, monthly memberships, duos... and none of your packages expire. Yesterday was the first time I tried an airbrush tan. I wasn't nervous at all, but if I were, the girl would have made me feel comfortable. She was very nice and explained everything. She kept assuring me that the color I was going to see right away was A LOT darker than what it would turn out to be. The only thing I think that could be improved would be to put a curtain across the door so when they go in and out, people in the hallway don't see you naked. I know that they wouldn't open the door if someone is there, but it would add a little extra comfort. I wasn't sure if I should tip or not, so I googled it after the fact and found out that I should have. Next time, I'll double up. It only makes sense. These people are spraying tanning solution on you while you're naked! TIP PEOPLE! Bottom line - I am VERY happy with my spray tan and WILL be going back! read more

So happy I came to this spot as most places close so early I love that it's open until 10:00pm but try to be there by 9:30 for spray tan. So I'll just stick to writing about what I look for when skimming through reviews. 1. The hours are awesome 7:30am til 10:00pm. 2. The staff (Erin) was very helpful friendly and not pushy about buying more than I wanted. The deals kinda speak for themselves which leaves me to 3. I don't usually do spray tanning cuz it seams too pricey but this was $22 for the first time and around 30 each after that unless u get a package, they had some summer specials so I suggest calling to get the prices and deals. And they had cool add like double dip your legs for just a few dollars more. 4. The decor and ambiance is cute but more importantly they're machines are new and up to date I can't remember what kind of spray tan machine they used but it's waaay better than the typical mystic that just gets u front and back. No sand tan's machines get the sides as well and I love that the machines dries u as well and provide wipes for after so u are less likely to end up with Adobe clay colored feet lol and last but not least 5. The location is great if you need all your girly stuff done. I believe there is a nail salon, beauty supply, eyebrow threading, and hair salon. I can vouch for he nail salon too I went there awhile back and came out with the cutest glow in the dark nails. read more

I purchased body wrap sessions through Groupon and I love it. :) It can get really warm and hot but they consistently check if everything is okay throughout the sessions. Great customer service for sure! I also did customized spray tanning (Organic spray) a couple years ago and it came out really nice and lasted a long time. Rating is for the receptionist janelle, she cannot multi task nor take a simple appointment. Called at 10am when they opened, no one picked up till much later. Finally when she did pick up I said I would like to make an appt for 10:30. She said come in no problem. Got there at 10:25 told her we spoke, she didn't help me continued to let other people go in front of me. I waited another 45 minutes. Finally I confronted her asking why others are going before me, she said "oh they walked in before you" . That's EXACTLY why people make appointments?! I love this place!!!! Not only are the beds clean, they have a large selection of beds, from 7 min standup to if you're feeling up for it 9mins!, they have tons of reg. beds so you rarely have to wait, plus they have medium and high pressure beds tooooo. I know most places have mystic so it's not a big deal but the owner(lili) does an AMAZING job for airbrushing. I love how first time airbrushing gets a special price and I've even seen people that tip when I was waiting because of how happy they were. clean bathrooms +, clean towels that you can use +, FREE cold water +++ might I add, I'm always hungry when I tan, and there's a $2 sushi joint across the plaza. I did a teeth whitening treatment fir $89, which worked pretty well! I already had white teeth, but their kit makes it really white in only 15 minutes! I also did the body wrap which was pretty cool! I had a groupon and just wanted to try it. It was relaxing, but man does it get hot! You sweat out all the toxins in your body while watching your favorite shows on netflix in your own little room.
