I had such a wonderful experience at this spa. Barry did my dermaplane treatment and it was absolutely fantastic - relaxing, gentle, and so effective. I guess my experience here was...fine? But for the price, I would expect better than fine, so I don't think I'll be back. My skin looked glowy for the rest of the day, but I woke up to no discernible difference. I'm not looking for miracles, but facials I've had in the past I can see the after effects of for at least a few weeks. Some turn-offs: -I could hear someone having a word-for-word, extremely loud conversation nearby the entire time -the neck/shoulder massage portion felt rough. I wasn't asked how the pressure felt once. -after the facial, I was immediately upsold to purchase skincare. I had to ask about the prices. I was also gently pressured to sign up for a monthly membership immediately, which is kind of wild for a first-time experience. I'm definitely looking for an aesthetician to form a regular relationship with, but I don't think this place will be it. read more

I booked a facial at Cheeks + Co Pasadena after a friend recommended it, and wow, what a gem! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was clean, modern, and so relaxing. It even smelled amazing. Even the bathroom felt luxe and thoughtful, which says a lot about the care they put into the space. My esthetician was wonderful. The whole experience felt pampering and soothing, even the extractions (yes, you read that right!). My one teeny tiny wish is that I would have loved more explanation as she went along about the products and steps being used. I would have happily splurged on skincare to take home if I had known what was on my face. That said, my skin was absolutely glowing when I left. It felt refreshed, hydrated, and just happy. Dehydration is usually my main issue, and this facial hit the reset button. Other little details I appreciated were the super convenient parking structure across the street. That's always a plus especially in Old Town Pasadena. Bottom line: if you are into self-care and skincare, this is your spot. I will definitely be back for another facial, maybe even to try a different treatment next time. read more

I booked an appt with Jennifer after seeing the glowing reviews on yelp. It was my very first time getting a facial from an esthecian and Jennifer made the experience so comfortable. I was undecided on which facial service to get and she recommended I try the cleanser. She extracted some clogged pores but made sure to note to me that some are not going to be possible because it's not ready to be popped and avoided them so I didn't get hyperpigmentation. I loved that she was able to keep that in mind and never once damaged my skin!! After the appt, Jennifer gave me some product recs at the store as well as some other suggestions outside of it. She really made sure to show that she genuinely cares about the customer. My face was red for a few hours but within a few days, most of my breakouts disappeared. Everyone here is so so nice! I came here with my mom because we had received a gift card for a facial. When booking the appointment, I chose the option for them to see what my skin needed. I let them know my skin concerns and they got to work. It was super relaxing and they also did extractions. Not many places do extractions so I was pleasantly surprised! They removed a good amount of blackheads from my nose as well as a small pimple on my upper lip that I was too scared to touch. They also did light therapy and a plethora of face masks and oils. By the end of the facial, I was a huge grease ball but I know it would be so good for my skin. Unfortunately, my chin started breaking out following the facial and I reached out to them for help and they were super understanding. I just think my skin may be too sensitive at times for the oils and enzyme masks. They offered me an LED light facial where I can come in and lay under the LED to help clear some of the cystic pimples that popped up on my chin. Overall, service was super nice and the vibes are so relaxing. There are metered parking right in front but they also validate for 2 hours at the parking structure across the street. read more

I love this woman owned, independent business! Canceled my membership at heyday and got a membership here because this place does facials so much better! 1. They have options for 60 and 90 min. 2. The aestheticians are simply better. Extractions are thorough, each session is personalized, and everyone is truly kind. In one 90 min session I may get microdermabrasion and microcurrent with a bit of gua sha at the end. They'll use whatever they have available to do what's best for your skin. Everyone is knowledgeable, my faves are Jesse, Tina, and AJ but I have never had a bad facial. 3. They have dermaplaning! 4. Massage is divine and products are clean! After reading so many positive reviews, I finally decided to book a facial with Cheeks + Co for a little self-care. I was grateful to find that there was same day availability when I booked, which was convenient. When I arrived there was a young woman working at the front desk assisting another customer. She did not greet me, which I thought was odd but attributed to her being busy. However, once the customer left she still proceeded to say nothing or even acknowledge my existence, which I thought was really bizarre and not very good customer service. My esthetician was timely and came out to get me from the lobby. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so I let her choose what to do. Unfortunately, there wasn't much about the experience that was relaxing as I had hoped for. She decided on the Smooth Operator for me, which is a microdermabrasion facial. The microdermabrasion itself was fine, but I was not prepared for the extractions that she did. She mentioned she may do a few light extractions if she noticed anything, but there was nothing light about it. She said there wasn't much to extract just some excess oil but whatever she did to remove said oil was legitimately painful. The products used on my face were just okay. The scents were a bit aggressive and I found my skin having a slight burning sensation from some of them, which was uncomfortable, but thankfully I did not show any rashes or reactions. Another aspect that was really disappointing was the music they play and how loud it is. They were loudly playing some sort of folk/ acoustic sounding music, which is fine, but not exactly what I'm looking for when I'm trying to relax. The singing was really distracting and I found myself unable to fully unwind. All together the facial itself was okay. I didn't notice any profound results or feel like the overall experience was worth it at all. I was pretty disappointed in my experience. I was hoping I would find a new regular, local spot for self-care and facials, but this is not the place for me. read more

I had the most incredible facial 4 days ago from Bella and I am still seeing the benefits! I initially went because i was taking new work pics and wanted to look more refreshed (ie less old) and Bella delivered by giving me the most gentle yet thorough treatment. Maria is THAT girl!!! I've been coming to cheeks since I started my membership 6 months ago and the difference in my skin has been incredible. I've tried the majority of the facials here as a member and have always stuck to the "Undecided" because I've always trusted Maria to work her magic each appointment. Extractions with her are super gentle and I've never left with my skin scarred or irritated. I'm a very introverted person and she's always made me feel super comfy even though I'm not very talkative! lol This is one of those places that radiates coziness and I've never once felt pressured to buy a product, or felt guilty about the condition of my skin coming in. I went there for a facial a couple of weeks ago. My facial was amazing, she was gentle and sweet. Although the rooms need a bit of an improvement because it looked a bit run down. I'm giving a one star because the manager was extremely unprofessional. I said hello and she completely ignored me. I've been to so many other places to get facials and all of the manager are kind and wanted to know how my facial went but not her. It seemed that she had an Attitude and didn't even spoke to me once. If you're a manager, I believe you need to have some people skills. She didn't at all. Once again, my facial was amazing, but I would never go back there because of the unprofessional manager that they have. Oh and forgot to mentioned, she did the same thing to my mom and my mom went there a different time than me. This review is for eyebrow wax only. First time here and was really interested in the facials but didn't have time to scheduled one. But I needed an eyebrow wax so scheduled that to check out the facility. For eyebrow wax I would definitely go elsewhere. It was only $35 but my brows came out uneven and my tech trimmed before waxing and I'm not sure if that made a difference but patchy. I will still try out the facials but can not recommend the eyebrow wax. Skip it! read more

My appointment was on a Tuesday in the early afternoon, so this probably biases my experience heavily in that street parking was easy to find, it wasn't crowded, and my appointment wasn't rushed. Judy was friendly and warm, chatty when we were chatting, calming quiet during the rest of the appointment, and didn't upsell me on a ton of services or products. Just asked simply if I wanted this or that done during my appointment and I walked out with GLOWING and refreshed skin. Fantastic massage too. The aesthetics at Cheeks & Co are really lovely too. Not sparse, not "you're in a spa - NOW RELAX" - they hit a nice balance of decor and comfort. I like the clean products used (which are for sale, but not pressured upon you to purchase). Sadly we trusted this was a professional operation and booked an appointment for two 90 min services. It was a hot mess from start to finish. We got conflicting information in our booking confirmations and then on what was to be our service day received two calls with requests to adjust appts due to staffing issues only a couple hrs before service. After a subpar facial a year or so ago, Tina had personally reached out to remedy the situation. I took her up on her offer and had a great gua sha facial recently. Basically, a wonderful face massage that revitalized my tired mom-ish skin and gave me a solid glow. No sticky lotion pilling on my face afterwards, no excessive extractions, no pushy buy-this and buy-that monologues, and most importantly I was very happy with how my skin looked for the next few days. I had the ideal experience here today getting my brows taken care of (and boy did they need it). The staff are so sweet and the ambiance is great! I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and the staff member who took care of my brows Elva was great. She's really sweet and the facial was "ok" but when I asked her suggestions on what brands she recommended for budget friendly products, she basically suggested I buy products in the salon.
