Why bother taking appointments when you can't keep them? This was my third strike. Although they do a decent job, the last time I was there I had an appointment and waited 27 minutes and had to ask the staff three times for an ETA. To top it off I was there with a friend and she was nearly done by the time they took me. Tried them again today. Made an appointment and made it a point to let them know of my last experience and how I was annoyed and the woman said "we will be on time". Nope.... I came in as a walk-in for a gel manicure because this salon looked promising. What I experienced instead was painful and honestly upsetting. I was initially seated with one nail tech, I believe his name was Leo, who randomly decided someone else would take over. He didn't go help another client--he just stopped working on me and passed me off, which already felt unprofessional since he sat down few seats down from us just chatting. The second nail tech, Tina, was extremely rough from the start. I had to pull my hand back and say "ow" multiple times. She filed aggressively without checking length or shape and repeatedly filed my actual skin. Halfway through, my fingers were burning. She wasn't wearing gloves so as she was cleaning the polish up, she was using her nails that didn't look clean to dig up my skin and polish. 2nd, The color wasn't what I asked for, but I agreed to it anyway because she kept showing me options that weren't even close to what I requested. I was trying to be respectful and not cause a problem and just settled for this color. Furthermore, the polish application was a mess. She constantly repainted and removed polish on every nail using a buffer, nail file, and even a paper towel. I've never seen nail polish removed that way.. weird. The final result was bumpy, uneven, and sloppy, with polish all over my skin. By the end, both of my thumbs were swollen and slightly bleeding. Instead of stopping, she kept filing my skin and drilling around the sides, making the pain worse. I stayed patient thinking that she'll clean it up properly, but I realized this was truly her final work. At this point, I let her finish and asked for her manager. When I asked to speak to the manager, the nail tech became defensive and started yelling in her own language. I didn't cause a scene and I wasn't rude, but the change in tone was obvious and made me so uncomfortable that I started crying. The manager offered and gave store credit, but that doesn't change the fact that my skin flesh has been filed down multiple times and I left in pain. I walked out with injured fingers and nails that looked extremely sloppy. Please listen to the bad reviews. I'm not sure how this place has a 4-star rating. A nail appointment should never end in pain, and tears. I will never return and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Wanted to get my toes done as they were in NEED of a pedicure. This was my second time going to this salon. The location is right off of Burlingame ave, there is street, metered parking all around unless you park on a Sunday, then parking is free! The ambiance is nice, their pedicure chairs have to be my favorite. I've never been in a more comfortable chair that feels and looks luxurious. For a regular gel pedicure, they charge $55 which included a hot stone massage. The lady who did my toes, confirmed if the shape looked good and was patient when I was a little indecisive with which color to go with, which I appreciated. I am so disappointed. I came here because the yelp reviews looked good. I came in for a gel X fill with French. The lady doing my nails was very sweet, but unfortunately, she was super aggressive and very messy with her work. I do my own nails at home sometimes so I'm very aware of mistakes that are made. She starts painting the polish on my nails while there is still dust flying everywhere, on her hands, and on my hands so when the polish wasn't going on smoothly, she was obviously struggling to fix it. There were multiple times that I had to point out her mistakes for her to fix, like even the shape of my nails was completely slanted on the ends of the nails and she didn't even catch that until I said something about it . She put two layers of topcoat on my nails, which made them a lot thicker and bulkier. There are multiple chips on the side of my nails as well as the topcoat on some nails not even being smooth and shiny. I go to pay and did not tip for good reason, then went to the bathroom and realized the lady at the counter asked my boyfriend for a tip. This is extremely rude and assuming because nobody owes you a tip, especially if you did not do a good job. I was unaware that my boyfriend paid a $20 tip through Venmo without consulting with me first , as he didn't realize why I didn't tip. I showed her why I didn't tip and she tried to fix it. Of course she could not because my nails needed to be drilled and repainted. I called back later and asked for $20 off of my service, not realizing that that would just be my tip back. I wanted $20 off the service price as well as the tip back, so I called back again to get that and they refused to give any money back... why would I pay full price for a half ass job? Update: The owner just responded and said that I am picky. I'm sorry I want my nails done correctly without a bunch of chips, thickness, excess residue on my fingers. Two of my fingers arent even smooth cuz she buffed them after the top coat If you cannot give a clean set, why would I pay 80? This is worth 60. They refunded the tip that my boyfriend gave but refused to give me any percent off the full price. It's not my type of place due to: - no toxic free regular nail polish options - no obvious tool sanitation - the salon looks very dated and run down - no indication of the products used for the pedicure The pedicure chair I was sat at was dirty (there was some type of liquid in the cup holder indentation, the little side trays needed a good wipe down, etc.). went to MonZoe Nail Spa for a simple acrylic removal, and it was one of the worst nail experiences I've ever had. They soaked my fingers in acetone, which is normal, but they didn't let the acrylic properly soften or come off on its own. Instead, the technician aggressively drilled my nails over and over, making them extremely fragile and paper thin. He was rough, rushed, and showed no care at all for the health of my nails. By the next morning, I woke up with severe nail sensitivity, and when I looked closely, I saw red spots on my nails from how much they drilled. This is absolutely unacceptable and clearly reflects unprofessional, careless work. I will not be returning, and I don't recommend this place to anyone. They do not care about the wellbeing of the nails or the clients, and no one should leave a salon in pain. read more

He tested multiple colors on me, scrubbed all my calluses away, and even pulled out some stray hairs on the toes. I was able to make two appointments for the next day. I was having trouble finding parking on the day of. It's just street parking and Burlingame can get busy, especially on the weekends. The salon nicely called to check in if I was coming. I was able to finally get in 15 min late and they got to me right away. I was originally planning on getting acrylics but they told me that my nails were actually in really great shape and I could just get gel. They didn't try to sell me more, which was amazing! They were also able to fix one of my nails that was cracked. I told them I wanted French tips but with green instead of white tips. They chose an amazing green color and executed so well! The gel polish started lifting and chipping within 6 days, which is uncommon. There was nothing about the service that stood out. The whole experience was mediocre. The main reason I rated i a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because I don't think the massage was worth it, but maybe that's my bad for not going to an actual masseuse or reflexology place. I've been coming to Mon Zoe for a few years now and my past few visits have been pretty disappointing. Today was hands down the worst experience I've ever had here. I got a gel pedicure and gel x nails. I asked for my toe nails to just be filed down, every single one was crooked and slanted. When I asked for it to be fixed the response was "your toes are crooked". First of all that's incredibly rude and even if that's the case no one should be walking around with slanted nails. In addition to that half my nail wasn't painted on almost every toe nail. That's one of my biggest pet peeves when getting a pedicure. Next the gel x. When removing my current gel I asked that the nail tech not rip it off with the cuticle cutter and to file it down instead. She scoffed and yanked my hand towards her. Then when it came to putting the gel x nails on a few of them were off center and not covering the nail. Which I asked to be corrected and I got the same irritated response. Now that I've left, 2 of the nails are completely crooked and side ways. I think gel x is new here which might be why I had such a poor experience. I've been getting gel x for over a year now and have been to a few different spots and this wasn't done the way I'm used to. Spent $125 to leave frustrated and with crooked nails. While the lady working on my toes was having me put my feet in & out of the water, the entire gel light fell onto my shins as it had been balancing on my lap while the other lady was working on my hands. Both ladies were shook by the how hard it fell onto my legs, but no apologies and moved on. The gel polish I chose from them apparently wasn't curing/drying properly so we had to redo the entire thing. Since i brought my own polish, I asked her to just use mine instead of doing gel. After the lady doing my manicure finished putting on my base coat, the woman from the front desk took over finishing up my color. She also put on my shoes right away which was odd because they were only drying for 10 min, and then once she was done she had me move to another seat by the door to finish drying. Mind you, there was no one waiting at the door at the time, so I was upset that they rushed me when I found that my toes and a few of my fingers were messed up. I asked her to fix them which she seemed annoyed that she had to do. She also dug into my purse to grab the nail polish I had brought without asking my permission first. Like yeah, I understand you need the polish to finish up, but isn't it courtesy to ask for permission before digging your hands into someone else's bag? Even though it was my first time there I could tell even on a Monday morning it was filled with regular clientele which is great. I loved how efficient the process was.
