My partner and I came here for pedicures, and I also got a gel manicure. Our first choice for a nail spa was full, so we decided to try this place since no one was there. We were seated right away, which was nice. Unfortunately, my gel pedicure was below average. It took incredibly long; my partner's pedicure was finished, and his nail tech even started on another client before mine was done. The pedicure didn't feel thorough either; my usual salons remove ingrowns, but that wasn't done here, and I noticed I still had a hangnail on my pinky toe afterward. The person who did my pedicure was an elderly lady, and while she seemed kind, the quality just wasn't there. On the bright side, my gel manicure turned out great. However, I couldn't help but notice that another customer who came in after us was offered tea, a heated neck pillow, and even a choice of water scent...none of which we were offered or even told about. It was confusing and made the experience feel inconsistent. Overall, service was friendly and quick to start, but the quality and attention to detail didn't quite meet expectations. read more

I went in for a manicure/pedicure. I have been here before! So I thought I'll give them another shot! (I treated my mother to a pedi and she said nail polish chipped the next day) I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another chance. Thinking maybe it was just a bad nail polish. Now I'm thinking the work itself is not good. I was a walk-in and they took me right away, which was nice! At first everything was going great! comfy chair, relaxing music, water temp was nice, staff were friendly etc.. I wanted to try something new since my own nails had grown a good length. I thought I would try powder dip nails. What I didn't know was how lumpy she would leave them!! I felt like you couldn't tell until you really moved your fingers around. To top it off Towards the end before the gloss and blue light, she walks away to help another customer and sends the male to finish the job. No explanation. He stared at my nails and he seemed resistant to seal it because he stared at them and moved them around to check but he sealed them anyways. Once I was driving and in outdoor light! the closer I looked the worse it looked!! They look terrible! Even the thumb nail looks like I already need a fill. I have a wedding event tomorrow so I have no choice but to keep these on but I can't wait to take them off. What a waste of money. Pedicure was ok. The service itself was nice but again with a closer look she didn't neatly paint them and they don't look as cleaned up as I usually get them. I paid $102 plus tip! I was asked to pay Venmo and to tip cash please. I informed the gentleman that I did not have cash and he just said "ok add your tip when you Venmo" I always tip! This used to be mine go to nail stop. There's been a couple times where I've been cut, not too big of a problem. But this last time I had left with a broken nail, and 4 cuts. Every time I was trying to see the progress. The lady kept covering with her hands. When I saw, it was broken a broken nail. she tried to hide with her hands and saying she'll put glue. The nail is broken half way btw. I did have to get the previous gel off. She didn't use any products, just the nail drill. Which ended up burning a few times. Decided to walk by, and at least check out their menu. Staff was very nice. $23 for a mani. $40 for gel. Definitely not busy at 6:15pm. I opted for a regular manicure this time instead of my gel. $5 take off fee, that's normal. The guy at the front desk was mentioned it would be 10% off if I paid cash. Since I was doing a regular manicure + the $5 take off fee my total is $28. He mentioned again, that with the 10% off I would be paying $27, and with card I'd be paying $28. 10% off of $28.00 is $2.80, not $1.00 off. $1.00 off $28.00 is less than 4%. That's why I just opted to pay in card. The woman I had was nice. Paint job was good. Her pressure of her massage was decent. But the massage was under 30 seconds per arm. They were definitely in a hurry to leave for sure. Whole service was done in less than 40 minutes. I did leave a 25% tip. Would I come back again? Well, this review for a regular polish pedicure is not good.... Let's start with the good stuff: 1. clean and spacious 2. private chairs separated by sheer curtains 3. good lighting, both natural and overhead 4. coconut oil foot & leg massage 5. staff masked up and temperature taken upon arrival 6. super clean bathrooms Bad stuff: 1. Waiting more than 10min for my 1215 appointment 2. price discrepancy 3. shoddy work 4. no whirlpool foot bath 4. the amount of coconut oil used in the foot & leg massage 5. massage chair remote screen was inoperable so I could not increase the time or properly choose the setting 6. toilet bowl is very high up! 7. out of stock of nail polish colors I originally sent them a yelp question on 20Jul20, via the community board for the cost of a pedicure and was quoted by Mai F. $35 for gel and $25 for regular polish. Thank goodness I brought my own polish as I mentioned, they were OUT of Stock of a lot of colors and who wants to roam around the salon scrounging and poking around other stations for the perfect color! I don't know the name of the technician who was doing my pedicure, however, her hand was a bit heavy with the polish and she did not clean up around nail of excess polish. Upon closer inspection, the coats of color are uneven and already chipping ;( When I checkout out, she told me $35 and I responded with the amount I was quoted, $25, and she became flustered raising her voice. This brought the other technicians to chime in on how I was wrong, and eventually one of them walking up to me to chat. I busted out my phone and showed her the Yelp page of what I was quoted and again, she told me that it was wrong. No apology. Not graceful. Made me super uncomfortable in front of everyone in the salon and it was pretty packed by this time. I paid $25, plus $5 tip leaving her with $30... And I will NOT be back, unfortunately. read more

Made the mistake of coming here during peak hours (around end of work day on a weekday, so 4-5ish) and instantly regretted it. I originally came for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. In the 2 hours I was in the salon, I was only able to get a mediocre pedi and what was probably going to be an even worse gel manicure. I had to stop the lady from applying gel because 1. I lost my patience after an almost 2 hr pedicure and 2. The lady working on me that day was probably the least skilled one there imo. Not sure if I could come back unless I was desperate and/or it's dead inside. There's so many other salons nearby and around the ave, it's hard to risk the inconsistent service here. read more

My acrylics didn't stay in longer than 3-4 days until they started to peel off or pop off. I've never had this experience elsewhere and wasn't doing anything different with my hands. I walked in yesterday because I had gotten my nails done elsewhere and wanted to see if they could help me fix them. They took care of me right away and did an amazing job correcting the horrible dip nails that I had gotten earlier in the day. My technician worked on my nails for half an hour and only charged me $20. Wonderful service and so thankful to them for making my nails look great. read more

They weren't even able to get the nail polish on my nail and it was all over my fingers by the end. I also didn't ask for a design just a simple coat over my nail in a light blue color. I do not write reviews often, but I feel it's a duty to warn others from coming here and wasting their time and money. I had the worst customer experience of my entire life. I made an appointment online for 6pm. I received a text message confirming it was accepted. I came to the salon early to see if they could squeeze me in at 5:20. I saw that they were closed for a private event for a bridal party. I was getting my nails done to be in a wedding as well, so I completely understood. I came back at 5:50 and I noticed that the party was still going on. To not disturb the bridal party, I called instead of walking in to see if my appointment was still valid or they accidentally accepted it. They told me yes and came out to the street to talk to me. They said that there was this event going on, but they will be ready for me soon. I expressed my concern that it would take a long time because I had dip nails that needed to be removed and they close at 7. He informed me not to worry and it can be done quickly. I was brought in at 6:05 but not to the salon. Much to my chagrin, they put me in a back room away from the party. I was basically stowed away in a glorified supply closet (someone walked in with actual with supplies!) I thought, okay I will be a good sport for this bridal party and hideaway. They must have made a mistake accepting my booking and I don't want to ruin their moment. After some time goes by, they come to the room to start to remove my nails. They used a very strong file that was burning my nail bed and causing me pain. I told the nail tech that it hurts, and she says not to worry. Then, rather than placing each nail in tin foil and a cotton swab with acetone to remove the dip, which is the industry standard, she provides me a literal bowl of acetone to dip my nails in! I've been getting dip for years and I have never seen such gross negligence. Multiple times I informed them that this is damaging the skin around my nails and that this should be with aluminum. They told me it's fine and she will clean it up for me after. My hands turned grey from the acetone. I'm writing this two hours after I left the salon and my fingers are still rough and dry from the acetone. It was completely unprofessional. But the horror is just beginning. I understood that they were between a rock and a hard place trying to get my nails done and have their party. I thought to save them some trouble I should get my eyebrows waxed while back here. She did not do a good job. She didn't clean my makeup off. She just went in and waxed off my brows not asking what hair I wanted removed. My eyebrows are thinner than I would have ever wanted. One is longer than the other and there are still hairs in-between my eyebrows that were not removed. At this point I should have left. I leave my glorified closet because the party is over to see that they allowed other guests who were not members of the party to sit in the actual salon. I saw that one of the guests had aluminum on her fingers to remove her nails rather than a bowl of acetone like me. Meaning that they had basically just treated me this way and not their other customers. They start the actual manicure and at this point I had interacted with multiple nail techs. I showed the first one in the supply closet a picture of what I wanted and asked which color would be best for that. She told me not to worry about the book of colors and that she knew exactly the color for the dip. It's time now to select a color and my new nail tech asks what number. I told her I wasn't sure, but the other nail tech knew. There was much back and forth between them in Vietnamese. Ultimately, they said that they didn't have the color. You can imagine my extreme agitation at this point. A different nail tech offered the solution of providing clear dip and then gel on top in the color I want. Can you imagine paying for dip which is twice the price of gel only to have basically gel nails? If the topcoat were to chip off (which often happens) then you would see a strange clear/white undercoat. How completely preposterous! I explained to her calmy exactly that, and that would not be an actual solution. She had the audacity to tell me that they were trying to accommodate me. Accommodate ME? I had done nothing but accommodated them! Not once was I thanked for my patience or did they apologize for hiding me away. I was never offered any sort of discount or even a water for waiting. At the end my nails were not the color I wanted, and the lengths are all different (Even though they were all the same when I came in). I also lost an additional 45 minutes of time. I never once felt even remotely welcomed. This is my first and last time at this salon. read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a nail salon nearby. My boyfriend and I came in for pedicures and it was fine. Good pedicure, & very clean. However, 2 weeks later I come back for a gel manicure and I was terribly disappointed. I was in a rush to leave and should have throughly inspected my manicure (my fault) and maybe I would have noticed the horrible paint job sooner. Multiple nails were not coated on the sides and barely up to the cuticle. In the next couple days, 2 nails were already chipped which was so upsetting bc this was gel, not a regular manicure. $40 for the worst gel manicure I've ever received. Absolutely unprofessional and horrible. They charged me extra just to peel off my previous gel nails by a cuticle cutter! No acetone whatsoever, it severely damaged my natural nails, the process was painful to me and to watch. I specifically wanted to go to a salon to professionally remove them. They didn't use anything to soften my cuticles, after soaking my nails in a bowl of cool water, they started to push my cuticles. If you had any manicure in your life, you know it's not right. I was on the massage chair, when switching hands, she didn't even bother to walk to my other side and had me reach my hand to her awkwardly while she was chatting with her coworker. They painted my nails unevenly and it has bubbles in it. I purchased a groupon comes with a foot bath, it's just plain water that every nail salon includes when you get a pedicure, and they charge extra for it. These nail technicians know nothing about what they're doing. I'm confused by the good reviews they have on yelp. Maybe they changed owner or something? I'd avoid this place at all costs. read more

Always a pleasure going in for Manicures, pedicures and waxing. Very attentive to your needs. I had surgery on my ankle 25yrs ago, and unfortunately Kaiser really did not do a good job. So when my pedi is done I am extremely sensitive because of some lost sensation in my toes and foot. Emily's is very gentle, and now enjoy the pedicures. I hate doing this as I know it's tough times right now but I basically have been traumatized with my gel nail removal here. The nail technician scraped and filed my nails down and then on top of that used the Dremel drill filer to file even more, leaving my normally VERY thick and strong nails so thin just lightly pressing on the nail will bend it. I understand gel nails will damage your natural nails but I really think this was the harshest way to remove gel nails. The gel was already removed with the multiple filing and scraping, no need for the electric filer. She also for some reason decided to file underneath my nails, making the tips even thinner. This nail technician also did not know how to shape or cut my nails. Every single nail was left a different length and had a different shape. The regular polish painted was also done horribly with bumps and gaps. This is probably the worst nail experience I've ever had from such a highly rated nail salon. Luckily it was very cheap to get the mani done but I would gladly pay more for a better job. As a result of this my nails are fragile and soft and a few of my fingers with the thinnest nails actually painful. I have never experienced this before in my life. I'm so sad my normally strong nails are like this now. I'm so sorry to leave such a bad review but I want to save people from experiencing what I experienced with my gel removal and overall manicure experience. read more

I've been going to Emily's for about a year. I get consistently good gel manicures and pedicures. The ladies are all friendly and knowledgeable. I have brittle, weak nails that are often very short and they always do a great job. They are pretty busy on weekends so it's good to call ahead and make an appointment. I've been coming here on and off for the last several years, if I'm in the area and I happen to need a Mani and Pedi, I end up here. The women who work here are extremely friendly and do a very good job of cleaning the cuticles and trimming/shaping nails. I typically have Gel since the results last for a good 3 to 4 weeks. I got a sticker shock because I expected to get a flat rate for having a combined manicure pedicure gel service. A manicure gel for $40 was quite steep and I don't mind paying $40 for a pedicure. I wasn't too thrilled with the massage, I'm spoiled and I know what a good hand/arm, foot/calf massage feels like and I felt that I was short changed in the massage area, which is why I balked at my bill!
