Loved my nails from here! I did a mani-pedi and this place was great. My gel manicure has lasted a long while. I appreciated that they did many coats to ensure that my nails wouldn't get ruined during Thanksgiving and it hasn't. They've lasted so long! And very cute. It's very clean and I had a great experience with both the mani-pedi procedures. Very relaxing. I came in and it wasn't too busy so I didn't feel rushed. Cute, no frills place to get your nails done. I do suggest you make an appointment if you can- they can get pretty busy! I went on a drizzling Sunday, for my first pedicure since moving. I found them on Yelp and they made an appointment for me here, love that! It was Sunday so free meter parking, keep that in mind when trying to book. I think there is only meter parking. Add enough quarters so you don't have to run out with wet polish (ha ha) . There was lots of "regular" polish to choose from as well as gel. They made me feel comfortable and un-pressured to upgrade my basic choices, non-gel basic pedi ($40) which included a soak, clip, file, polish, and massage. The massage chair itself was fairly new and gave an awesome chair massage, very strong! They used clean tools and my lady was super. No pressure to chat, it was calm and relaxing, which I like. I primarily chose this place because it offers facials as well, which I am interested in. I will try to update for that if I go for it! read more

I had credits that were about to expire on ClassPass, and much to my surprise I found out I could use my credits for a mani/pedi. I scheduled my appointment about an hour before. In the future, I would call them in advance and confirm their availability prior to booking. I had a great mani/pedi. Paint was applied evenly over the entire nail - something that's tricky to do with white polish. TBD how long my regular polish will last, as that'll be the true indicator of quality, but so far I'm impressed! read more

Love love love Maite! Such a warm & welcoming environment, especially since Jennifer is a ray of sunshine who never fails to forget anyone's name. I've observed that she knows each and every loyal customer's name & face, which is so nice and keeps me coming back especially since she knows how I like my dip manicure done (I'm picky!). Service was great but the attention to details is a total fail. I asked for gel extensions and the outcome was atrocious. I had glue way under my cuticles to the point where my finger was starting to hurt. I literally had to get the gel removed the next day (at a different location), and the nail lady I went to was in total shock. She took over an hour to remove all the gel, and was surprised as to how thick the gel polish was. She felt so bad for me that she didn't even charge for the job removal. read more

Great experience every time here! Not only the owner and team are kind, but it just seems the customers are in good moods as well, which isn't a surprise given the environment created. Most recently Walker taught me I can just get dip filled when it grows out a bit by her, Which eliminates the step of soaking my fingers in acetone which other nail salons have required and similar scenarios. I am SO grateful to have met Walker today, she is so great at listening and communicating to ensure that the outcome is exactly what you dreamed of, she is precise and artistic, and overall just a really great human. I am so happy with my beautiful nails and even tried out a different shape this time. Will absolutely be back to see Walker soon. read more

I'm very picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I've been loyally going to 1 salon for 15 years but now I've moved out of the city and it's harder for me to get out to San Francisco (besides the atrocious parking and spike in crime...) Anyways, I'm closer to Burlingame and for now it's still considered safe so I was on a hunt for a new spot. We tried out a few places all around Burlingame/ SM area and none really hit all the points for me until I came to Maite. First off, the owner is very friendly and she speaks English (not a deal breaker but knowing that you can explain what you want without a language barrier is nice.) They also speak Cantonese which is what I speak as well so I can easily communicate what I want. Also, I NEVER hear them talking crap about their clients in another language (as we sometimes catch at other salons - a big no-no for me.) Second, I loveeee the options for pedicure treatments. Besides just the classic pedicure they have fun ones that has all these add-ons. As someone who is on her feet for 12+ hours on a Saturday, my treat to myself on the Sunday when I get my pedis is the firewalker! Third, they do a thorough job! I my pedicures can last 3 weeks - 1 month (given that the nails would be grown) but I've never had them chip. When I return it's always fully intact just grown out. I do wish their color selection was more extensive ( my go to is a mauve which I don't see here) but Joan the owner said I can always tell her what color I want and they can purchase it for the salon - awesome!! Lastly, they're so nice! I want to get my nails done at a place with good vibes and we've literally chatted with other customers before in a fun relaxed environment. Joan learned our names early on (maybe after our second visit) and remember specific things (i.e my friend's son.) That's true customer service which leads to customer retention. We all just want to feel special ;) read more

The ladies here are so delightful and fun to get chatty with. They do a great job at making sure you are happy with your nails before leaving. The pedicure was easy, I didn't have to give crazy instructions on what to do with my ingrown because they already knew how I wanted it handled! Diane is the best for acrylic nails and so I'd definitely recommend seeing her! I also love that this location isn't directly on the main Burlingame Ave because it made for a less busy crowd. I'd definitely recommend coming to Maite for your nail needs and when in the area! Be sure to book an appointment when possible! read more

Excellent service and great job. Here is what they did for me in my last 2 visits! One was a suggested design by a manicurist, the other one I showed them a picture and they are able to replicate. If you have a specialty design, just show them a photo and they will make it happen! read more

Looking for a last minute mani/pedi before a trip, I came across this place on Yelp. I live in the area and have been to other places, but so far this place wins. My appointment was at 9am and since other places in the area have usually shown up late, I decided not to stress myself and get there super early. I was promptly greeted and given a chair despite being early. I have the utmost respect for people to respect my time. Dung did my pedicure. She's quiet, but did a great job. Also, since my gel mani was being done at the same time, she was aware that I couldn't move/life my leg every which way on a whim. Diane did my manicure. She was also quiet, but detailed and professional. I didn't like the initial color because it was too sheer, so she helped me find exactly what I wanted. There's one spot where it looks like there could've been more polish, but overall I'm satisfied. It was easy to make an appointment, they're on time, everyone was friendly and polite, and they didn't leave you sitting there forgotten like a lot of salons do. I definitely recommend and I'd go back. read more

Careless... the nail tech was literally looking away talking to someone when this happened, she then proceeded to act surprised. It's very dangerous to look away with electric tools in your hand. Super painful cut and it's been 4 days and it still looks very swollen and red. The fill was done on Saturday and it is now Wednesday night, and the pictures are from couple minutes ago. This is something that could've easily been avoided had the nail tech been paying attention. They seem to always be in very engaged conversations with their colleagues and I don't usually mind, but it's very frustrating when the result is a deep cut that's painful for a long period time, and looks very unprofessional during a week of important work meetings. read more

Randomly made an appt with my sister for two gel mani/pedi on a weekday. Amazing service from the start - the owner greeted us warmly & offered us water on a hot day. They carry your usual variety of nail polish brands & will provide consultation for colors too. Massage chairs are incredibly strong aren't damaged or broken . My pedicure was the best pedicure I've gotten all year - Fon paid so much attention to detail, esp when I complained of my ingrown nail. She was gentle and so effective!! My manicure was amazing as well - i unfortunately forgot her name but I have a feeling everyone here has talent! My new spot in the neighborhood! read more

I wanted to love this place but I just can't. First positive - you can make an appointment online!!! Amazing. Love that. And they took us (my daughter and I on time, no waiting). While I was there I watched several women come in with appointments and all were seen on time. I chose this place because I saw on the website that they have the builder polish, and I wanted to ask about it. When I was there though I only saw the generic gel polish that every place seems to use now, where you choose the color from a plastic fingernail sample. My daughter had a gel mani (they only charged her $40 but on the website says $45) and she was happy with it. I thought it was just OK. Some paint on the skin and cuticle issues but I didn't want to be picky because she liked it. My service was the real problem. I got a regular mani ($25) with an OPi polish off the rack. I was also charged $10 for a removal of a mostly grown out and lifted gel from another salon. I have no problem with the $10. First, she cut my nails all short without asking. This was OK because I wanted them all short. But still, she should have asked. I was very happy when she started buffing with the rotary tool because she was gentle. I thought that she could see that the gel was really thing and already peeling off so she could go easy on me. But then she did more and more until I got that shooting pain where you jump out of your seat a bit. She noticed and eased up. I have a bruise under my nail now on that bit. After that, I was soaked in plain cool tap water, followed by cuticle remover product and then the trimming. That went fine. But then after she dried me she buffed the hell out of my nails AGAIN with a manual buffer. This was not a tool for natural nails - this should only be used on acrylics. I didn't realize until it was too late. Then she took out another buffer (a little square) and did a quick, (gentle) pass over each nail. At that point the damage was done. The polish I chose was a dark red/purple. It shows every mistake, I know. But the application was not good. I had some polish on my skin and 2 of my nails had not enough coverage on the sides. It was no better than I could do at home. I feel like at a salon, it should be perfect application. There was a base coat, 2 color coats and a quick dry. No top coat. At this point I just wanted it to be over and not embarrass my daughter by saying what I wanted to say. In 2 hours my ring finger was chipped. My middle finger had a hang nail. But the biggest disaster is that my nails are paper thin and weak. One nail is splitting up the middle. Another bends backwards if I scratch an itch. I had to cut them all down to the skin that night to avoid tearing and splitting further. This is the description on the service I paid for: Include trim, shape buff, soak, cuticle care, moisturizing massage. Finish with a hot towel and polish of your choice. I received no lotion, no massage, no hot towel. The ladies were so nice and friendly, the owner is wonderful. I really wanted to love this place. I don't know how or why my service was so bad, because they clearly have good reviews and repeat customers. read more

Came here with some friends for an impromptu pedicure day and had a good experience! We walked in around 3pm on a Sunday without reservations and were told to wait about 20-30 minutes for seats. We were sat one-by-one as chairs were vacated and I, being the last one sat, waited about an hour from the time we walked in. They seemed fairly busy, with a constant flow of customers, and I don't blame them for the wait--I'd definitely suggest getting a reservation before you come. The pedicure was great! Even though they were busy, it didn't feel rushed at all, and the massage chair and quick hot stone massage was very relaxing. Afterwards, my feet looked fabulous, and I was so happy with the results. I got regular nail polish and three weeks later, there's not one chip. They didn't have a price listing any where that I could see posted in the salon, and I believe I paid around $36 including tip for the pedicure. Overall, I thought it was worth the value, and would come back here again! read more

I am SO IMPRESSED!! I came in today with literally the worst manicure (this was from another nail salon) and I had to get it fixed pronto! Mary and Lulu did an ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL JOB! I have never had someone work so diligently, carefully and perfected their work as much as Mary did. She did such a fantastic job on my ombré nails and Lulu proceeded to aid with the gold foil, with Mary completing the finishing touches. I love my nails but the lady that did my toes, was terrible. She ended up cutting me, she trimmed my nails way too short and irregular shaped, and the polish was so bad. I waited until my third visit here to review this place so that I could be sure that the awesome experience I had the first time wasn't a one-off. It sure was not. I come here for pedicures and I can give you two tips 1) Always call ahead if possible. Yes you can walk in and get a service but it's so much better if you let them know you're coming. Even with 10 minutes advance notice. 2) If you find a particular manicurist or pedicurist whose style you like a lot - stick with him or her. You get a consistent predictable experience each time. The owners are super friendly. They love to get to know you if you've got the time to talk! Also, cash is preferred but they do take cards. read more

Anna did my nails for the first time today. I have to admit that I'm picky about my nails and I have very high expectations. I showed her what I wanted and the nail length and shape and didn't need to say another thing. She nailed it, pun intended. She was gentle, thorough, and precise. My acrylic isn't too thick, or too thin, my nails look completely natural. I will be back every two weeks and next time I'll add a pedicure. read more

Came here for a gel manicure based on yelp reviews in the area as I was visiting. I already had gel nails done but they were chipping, so I got it removed and redone! The lady took great care in removing my previous gel and also in applying the new polish! I didn't get any bubbles and it's doing well so far into 2 weeks. Only con would be that one nail was done kind of thin so it is a bit transparent on one side. But, it doesn't bother me too much. read more

My girl sent me a text saying that she wanted to pay for us to get our nails done, so of course I didn't argue. After work, she zoomed home, grabbed me and away we went to find Maite. Located right on the main strip in Burlingame, parking is easy - either across the street in the public lot or somewhere in the plentiful street parking. We found a place on the street a block away. They were ready for us when we walked in for our appointment which gave them immediate bonus points in my eyes. The kid had a mani and I had a pedi. I don't know the name of the tech who worked on my daughter, but she was careful and meticulous about making sure everything was perfect about her French Manicure. It turned out beautiful and showed the quality of the careful workmanship. Long was the first man to do my toes at a salon. Not only was he a pro, but he was tons of fun to talk to. 20 years old and makes a woman's toes look amazing? He won't have trouble finding girlfriends!!! Just look at the pictures of the artwork he did on my big toes. Gorgeous! Will we be back? Of course, because as Long told me, Maite is the best! And I believe him. read more

Everyone here is so nice, good vibes! I sadly don't know the name of who did my nails but she did an amazing job, she was so detail oriented and patient even though I was the last customer of the night! *UPDATE: I decided to get my acrylics removed and get a regular mani. I decided to come back because my friend didn't use her coupon from last time. I didn't expect them to remove my acrylics by just peeling them off. It was such a pain! I soaked my nails for about 10 mins in Luke warm water. After Nancy came back and removed them. She just got a acrylic tip that wasn't used and placed in between my acrylics and nail and just scraped it off. It was painful. I got a regular mani after. It was decent. There are some air bubbles and you can still see where my acrylics has been under them. She tried to buff them out. The reason I give it a 2 star still is that they don't realize that there are specks or bubbles in the nails and when they finish, they don't double check to see how it is. Oh wells. It cost $12 to remove the acrylics by just peeling them off your nails. So I believe that was a little bit too pricey for how they have done it. I always tip good and I appreciate their hard work but overall experience with the outcome wasn't satisfying to me. Sorry! read more

This review is 4 months overdue. My friend and i were in real need of a pedicure plus girl time. My regular manicurist wasn't available so I had to pick another place. Thank goodness for Yelp I found Maite Nail Salon. I called and Lu answered and scheduled us right away. She was very friendly and accommodating. When I arrived at the salon, small world it turned out to be someone that use to give me a mani/pedi. She used to own the place but has sold it to her nephew. I have ingrown skin and she was able to get it out. Place is not fancy and price is a bit high but she did a good job. Will definitely go there again if my regular manicurist can't see me. read more

1. They're so, incredibly nice! I was offered tea and was told multiple times that they wanted to make sure I was happy with their work. 2. They do great work! Not only do my nails look fantastic, but I had a badly broken nail and they fixed it perfectly (seriously, it was like magic). 3. They're so reasonably priced. I got a gel mani, regular pedi, and they used powder to fix my nail - all for about $50! All-in-all, this place is fabulous and I will definitely be coming back. read more

I decided to pop into this salon based on a solid number of good reviews and I was in the area during rush hour so I thought it would make most sense to give this place a try as opposed to navigating my way through Bay Area traffic to my usual spot in San Bruno. This is a decision I heavily regret as my nails came out horribly! Initially it seemed as if Jimmy was detail oriented enough, really took his time to buff and file but that's where my praises end. I went with a simple solid color gel manicure, nothing too fancy. I walked out of there with an uneven paint, cuticles still sticking out, bumps of polish along the side of my nail and he almost forgot top coat on one of my hands! I had to remind him that it hand not been done yet. Included are photos of my nails taken immediately upon arrival home. Not even an hour passed and it's almost as if the polish and top coat were not given adequate time in the dryer, the ends felt sticky and were already coming off! This is gel! Usually last 2 week minimum at my usual spot. For a gel manicure that took an hour to do this is surely a shitty job, whereas other places with gel, it can be finished much sooner, about 30 min due to drying versus air dry with a regular manicure. In that 30 minutes I get a top notch gel manicure. I really don't understand how botched this simple gel manicure got but I will be sure to never return. read more

Afterwards I've worked through the BayArea and learn many new skills as I further my career. During those times, I naturally have the desire to be a business owner. Overall they do gel nails and pedicures well depending on who you get. I find that is place maybe because it's in Burlingame treats their white customers much better than their customers of any other race. I've been going here with my mom for awhile. Lately each time I go there I notice that they're basically waiting on their hands and knees for their customers that are white. My mom and I are both Asian and white (primarily Asian looking.) I see them offering their white customers tea, water, and pillows to support their back while my mom and I get offered nothing and feel like we're a bother to them for their service. Their service has definitely gone down hill from the first time I've come here. Word of advice: ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS MATTER AND SHOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY. They also cut my friends toe while doing a regular pedicure and the lady kept soaking her toe in the water to stop the bleeding. When my friend made a post about it on here they asked her to remove her review. The last time I went was my last time going there. They seriously need to work on their customer service skills that they don't even have. read more

I am not sure what these other Yelpers are yelping about. After reviewing the Yelp ads I scheduled an appointment for a basic manicure/pedicure for a friend and I. Upon entering, we were extremely uncomfortable. The women did not really speak to us, talked among themselves-giggling. We picked out our colors and sat down. I am one that loves hot water--this water was actually scalding. The very helpful young man added cold water and I was able to put in my feet. The woman doing my manicure/pedicure did not remove the callous, skipped steps in cleaning the cuticles, nails were uneven with polish around the sides. I might have been able to do a better job myself. I will not be back and neither will my friend. It's too bad, once I find a great nail salon I'm a lifer. read more

I was so impressed by the service here! I called to make an appointment for gel manicure and spa pedicure and they had an appointment available that day at 6pm. I was amazed that they could fit me in after work! When I arrived I was offered a glass of water and was seated immediately. Betty did my pedicure and also helped me match a color for my gel mani. Betty and Lu both helped me so much and made me feel so welcomed here. We had conversations and laughed throughout my serivces. I came to this salon and they were so friendly and great. I heard they are under new management and the salon will change its name to Maite. The lady,Lu, gave me a package deal on wax and massage. I love the way she wax my eye brow - it was a nice shape. She listen to my needs and did not take too much eye brow off. I also got a hot stone massage and it total relaxes me. My favorite nail salon in the area. it's not fancy, but the guy there (tattooes on his fore arms) does an amazing and quick manicure. Perfectly cut, perfectly shaped, and tended to the cuticles both precisely and not too aggressively. His massages were okay, not great. But then again, I am not here for the massage. Mary gave me a gel manicure and honestly it was the best manicure I've had in a very long time. She took her time and was very meticulous which I greatly appreciated. So sorry to post this, but if you have nice nails, and are used to a decent, professional manicure, this is not your place. The staff are friendly and mean well, but unfortunately, the skills are just not there. I came in, second time and it topped my first exp! Bc they start to familiarize customer faces. Customer service is awesome here, so friendly and courteous!
